This is the second hair cut we've gotten at Hair bears and she's very good with our kids. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They're usually scared at first but they calm down very quickly with her friendly nature and fun personality.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's plenty of toys for the kids to play with while waiting their turn. She does adults hair as well so you can get a cut from her as well. It's the only place our kids have gotten haircuts from and unless we move away we'll keep going back. read more

My son has been a wiggly, crazy, catastrophe everytime I have gotten his hair cut before but not here- he was great! She is so great with little kids, especially toddlers, and totally helps my son overcome his nerves. Gayle was awesome with our 8 year-old grand-daughter and made her feel at ease getting her hair trimmed. Great place for kids' haircuts! Have been here twice with my 7 yr old and 2 yr old. Both times had great results! The owner is very patient while cutting hair and extremely thorough. So I have taken my son 3 times and the last time I decided it will be my last. There is a lady there named candy or cookie something like that idk but she did my son's hair last week and it didn't come out how i wanted at all and he wasn't even moving . She went up wayyyyy to high he literally looks like an army brat. She skinned him 2 spots so it looks horrible. There is hair around the ear still. The line up wasn't great. For the price I pay as a parent for my son's hair cut is $15 so with tip it's $20 and his hair cut has never been worth it. I gave 3 stars because they are good with the children and give them toys to play with and ballons at the end. The hair cuts aren't great but they do good with difficult kids. O need to find a better hair cut place for my son who sometimes cries but since he doesn't move I think his hair cut should come out way better read more

Gayle is great with kids. She has a little car that kids sit in to get their hair cut. She take instruction well. I didn't want it too short and she cut the length perfectly. Great people skills. Super friendly. Koa had been here a total of three times now. She has lots of toys to keep kids busy, a basket of lollipops, and a huge helium tank to blow up a balloon at the end for the kids to take. She's been cutting Koa's papa's family's hair for over 30 years! I'll be coming here for Koa's haircuts every time we are in town and will probably even schedule a visit to nana and papa Allen in the OC around it's time for him to get another hair cut! Absolutely fantastic children's hairdresser. Children's specialists are few and far between and Gayle and Cookie have been doing this for 30+ and are consummate professionals. They cut my hair from the time I was 18 months until I moved away to college and now they cut my son's hair when we are in town visiting the grandparents. We found this salon on Yelp and took our son here for his very first haircut. This place is the perfect spot to take a young child who needs a haircut. They have lots of toys to entertain the kids. I've been seeing Gayle since I was a child - I got my 2nd haircut ever from her. And now, I'm a 29 year old man who is happy to puzzle all of my friends when I tell them that I still get my hair cut at a child's salon. Gayle is not only a friend, but she's great at her job. I always go early to hang out and chat with her, and she is great as she ever was with kids. She knows how to cut a screaming, thrashing about child's hair as if the kid was sitting still. Cookie has also been there since the good ol' days - and on a few occasions, I've gone to see her in a pinch. She's great, too. Both of them are just amazingly kind and talented women. The problem now? I live in Salt Lake City, Utah. The solution? I get my hair cut only a few times a year when I'm visiting Mom and Dad. read more

Getting kids' hair is not fun. But this is about as good as it gets. They have toys in the waiting area and the ladies who work here have the right blend of trying to distract kids or "tough love" to just get it done if they are freaking out - - and they are themselves unfazed by anything going on. They are only clearly invested in the community. I'll also add that there have been times we left our credit card behind and they arranged for us to get it after business hours, or when my wife forgot her card and they just told her to send a check. First time haircuts for my 4yr old and 1 yr old, can't complain because everyone did a great job, my kids were in and out in less than 20 mins ! It's a small hair salon and has a cute little car full of toys for little ones, which works quite well. At the end the kids get balloons and lollipops ! Wonderful place for kids: Gayle and the girls really know how to calm them down and get the job done. There are plenty of toys to keep the little ones entertained, and the whole feel of the place is like getting your hair cut in a neighbor's kitchen. Not all kids are controllable, though, and not all parents care to control their kids, so if screaming and crying bothers you (Gents), I'd suggest being the first or last appointment of the day.
