This is my new go to spot for Keratin. In the past for the last two years I have been going to the SoHo location. After COVID their service has dramatically declined. Its like all they care about is making up for loss profit so they will do anything to get it. Which I get it but you still need to provide a service I am paying for and not half ass it. I noticed the last time I had it done in SoHo they didnt leave the product in to sit like they usually do they began to blow dry right away. Which I thought was so odd. The entire process was rushed. I did the 24K treatment. I left it in for 3 days without washing and only use Keratin Complex shampoo. I didnt go swimming in the salt water or a pool. I dont work out and my keratin lasted merely 2 months. I stretched it out to 3 because I didnt wanna pay out again and tried to get it as close as possible to summer time. Even though I didnt have a pleasant experience I said let me give them one more shot before I decide to stop coming here. The damn website is so glitchy I had to call in for my appointment. I spoke with Lea to schedule me for Tuesday morning, I get there they tell me I dont have an appt its for Wednesday. I was so upset because I took off of work to come get my hair done and I came for no reason. Over the phone she clearly told me Tuesday. I would never book anything after Tuesday because I keep the keratin in for 3 days and I didnt wanna have greasy hair on a Friday because i always go out plus it was memorial day weekend. I was so frustrated and determined to get my hair done. I cancelled my appt with SoHo and tried calling all the other locations. Everyone was booked except the Cedarhurst location. Well they were but we able to squeeze me in for 1pm appt. It was actually the last place i wanted to go to bc I didnt feel like driving out but im so glad I did. I felt like this was meant to happen cause it led me to go to cedarhurst. As soon as i got there the receptionist greeted me and asked if I had a voucher. No hassle at all. I felt like when i used the voucher in SoHo they were annoyed. After I took a seat a stylist approached me and had me sit in the chair while she looked at my hair and gave me a price. They were very clear about pricing to avoid any surprise charges in the end. Price was good we were ready to roll. Ramona came up to me introduced herself and said she would be doing my hair today. She walked me down the block to the other part of the salon. The first one is Bennys where I believe its just for color and cuts. The other salon down the block is actually Hair Bar where the focus just on the keratin treatment. Which I think is pretty clever. Ramona was a doll she was so sweet and kind. She took her time with my hair and made sure it was perfect. She also left the product in my hair for 15 with two fans to help with the fumes. Overall it took 2 hours which for me is normal I have wild ass hair and its thick. I had a really good experience at this location. It was stress free and smooth. All I want is to go in get my hair done and go home thats all. I wanted to wait at-least a month before leaving a review to make sure the treatment worked. Once I washed it I knew right away it was great job. It would straight and super silky. Last time in SoHo it was nothing like this and I knew they were either rushing or diluting the product because it barely irritated my eyes. With this one at Cedahurst I felt it. For me thats good bc i dont care as long as my hair comes out straight. Also there is metered parking im not sure if they have a free one just for the salon but it was like 4 bucks to park for 3 hours on the street. To wrap this us up, moving forward, my family and I will be only be going to the cedarhurst location. We're done with SoHo. Maybe if Leah would be more customer service focused instead of trying to make money for her wedding they wouldnt be going downhill. I wish them the best. read more

I got the keratin gel treatment done for the first time ever. I was very nervous to even do a keratin treatment. I initially had many questions about which treatment to get (Brazilian Blowout vs. Keratin Gel) so I called the salon and spoke with the receptionist, Angelina. She was so great! She answered all my questions and informed me about every detail that the processes entailed. She was so friendly and went out of her way to ensure I had an appointment because the computer was not working well that day. She was the first impression I had of the salon and she already set a high standard. So shout out to Angelina! You are so sweet! After speaking to her, I decided to buy a keratin and haircut package on their website. My stylist was Dari who was so awesome! She sensed my hesitation with the process but she walked me through it and explained everything as well. She really took her time with my hair and constantly was going back to adjust and fix everything. I really appreciated her diligence and attention to all the fine details. For the haircut, I just wanted a trim for my split ends so she barely had to cut anything off my hair. When it came down to the bill, she actually did not charge for the haircut. However I have medium length hair so there was going to be an additional $25 charge. So, she just swapped the haircut with the extra length charge. I was blown away by the service they had. I recommend Dari for this treatment because she is very talented and really puts care into her work. read more

While the lady administering my Keratin was absolutely meticulous and amazing, the young male hair "stylist" who gave my hair cut (Adrien? Aiden?) was absolutely horrible. A true untalented, unprofessional nightmare, who not only jabbed me in the neck with the scissors but also ruined my previously beautiful haircut. I specifically told him to keep the style of my hair as is and to only trim it and he ended up chopping half my newly keratin-infused, gorgeous ombré hair and leaving the rest jagged, in an "attempt" to give me an angled bob. I look like a mental patient who gave herself a hair cut. I seriously cried the entire night after getting home and this morning upon looking in the mirror. I don't know how I will show my face (or this whacked up "hair cut" by what one would assume was cut by a three year old) at work or at court (I'm an attorney). An absolutely horrible, terrifying, experience. Never again. I will forever dislike that wanna-be-untalented, unprofessional hair "stylist" who styled my hair into what a Nazi boy would wear. I would ask for a complete refund if I thought this place was decent enough to give it but alas....they are not. read more

This was my first experience with getting my hair straightened at Hair Bar NYC. My hairdresser, Johanna, intently listened to my thoughts of the results I wanted, then informed me of my choices. On my request, she suggested what she believed would be best for me. Her to thoroughness, professionalism, sweetness, patience, pride in her work were evident. I could not have asked more from Johanna. The 24 karat keratin treatment results were great! I was impressed with Beny, the owner. His wonderful personality seems to set the course for all his employees. Good to see each customer happy with her own results. I will definitely be back! . --Lynn P.S. By far the best hair service I've ever had. My hair stylist was Ester that first sat and talked with me about what I wanted done to my hair. She told me about realistic approaches to make my damaged blonde hair alive again. I have been highlighting with foils for most of my life and today Ester corrected all of the harsh lines and orange undertones with a half head balayage and toning session. I came out with stunning ashy blonde hair! She also trimmed my ends to get rid of my split ends and showed me how to style my hair according to the picture I showed her. After I was completely awed by her work, I purchased a few products that she had used on my hair. I am totally obsessed and I will be back to see her time and time again! read more

I love this salon! I went there for Brazilian Keratin 2 months ago and my hair still looks great and straight! They did amazing job and they always made sure I was comfortable. The Salon is very clean and ppl that work in there are very friendly. Today I did half head highlights and it looks just amazing! Looks perfectly natural and with sun-kiss effect. Benny did great job! He really took time to finish it, and it came out perfectly! He did toning and hair cut as well, now my hair looks shiny and healthy! It's been 2h since I left hair salon and I already got a lot of compliments for my hair :)) Very happy! I will definitely be back! Highly recommend !! P.S. I have been going to Benny's for several years for my Keratin treatments and have always been so happy with the results as well as the customer service. Today was the first day that I had my haircut and blown here .The Stylist's name. is Adraen. Not only is he extremely talented but he is so caring...the consumate professional. He listened to my needs and made me look better than I have looked in years. He has so many interesting techniques to texturize the hair and provide an easy moveable modern style.He is worth making a change if you are ready to feel like a celebrity and look like one too!!! I have very curly , frizzy and thick hair that is extremely difficult to maintain. I've tried relaxing my hair a few times but nothing has made a significant difference. I recently went to hair bar NYC for a silk keratin treatment and I couldn't be more pleased. Their products are formaldehyde- free which is very comforting to know. My hair is now silky, smoother , lighter and so easy to maintain. My hair is actually healthier now thanks before. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I did 8 years Keratin 24Karat and for me is the best and longest keep hair straight&shine. In Soho my stylist was Najarit and she was amazing but because she doesn't work more I did in that location with one onther is was so rude so this time I wanted to change location. This salon on Lex is extra, stuff is very kind and my stylist Beatriz is amazind. I highly recommend her for stylist and this salon. Had my first keratin treatment at NYC hair bar in Cedarhurst. Not knowing what to expect, Jessica answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable. Jessica did an amazing job with my hair. It has now been a few weeks since I had it done and my hair feels and looks great. The salons shampoo and conditioner also do wonders to your hair. I am now looking to getting my hair cuts there too.
