I'm trying to grow out my hair from a really short cut I had done around the end of July but I hate that damn awkward tail I get when I do a really short cut and it starts growing out so I wanted to get a trim. One of the owners worked on me, I'm not sure what his name was but he was a nice older Italian guy, happy, funny and full of wisdom. He shampooed my hair because the shampoo girl wasn't in yet. He gave it a trim and a nice style and after going back and forth nicely he agreed to cut off a small bit of my damn tail. He didn't want to cut much of it at first because he wanted my hair to grow out a little more evenly but he did after I told him it was driving me crazy. He explained to me he had a shop in the city but after 9/11 he opened up on the island because he saw everything happen from the Brooklyn Bridge and he decided he'd be better working on the Island. Overall I had a pleasant and fun time getting my haircut. I loved the girl I was using in Farmingville I just didn't want to keep driving that far. My groupon deal was pretty amazing, but normally they charge $50 for a wash, cut and blow out here which is the average price of a salon. I'm still not sure if I'm going to try other salons through groupon, or by recommendation before I settle on a new home salon or make Bellezza my new home salon. I found a pedi here, and a haircut, wash and blow out at a rockville centre location that I have an appointment with on Thursday morning. I called the salon, ended up leaving a message, they got back to me and I was able to get in for Sunday at 1:30 after work. At first one of the employees came off as slightly rude. I don't know if she was trying to be she was asking me what I paid on groupon for the pedicure. I got both the pedicure and haircut deal for $15.13 after a $20 off promotion code so I didn't remember what the pedicure originally cost and it didn't say what it was when I went to redeem the groupon. So I felt like we were on the way to getting into a mini altercation over what I paid on groupon. After I got past that I picked my color and sat in the pedi chair. They did the pedicure pretty quickly which I appreciate and I gave the lady a $5 tip because I got such a good deal I figured I'd overtip a little. The lady who asked me what I paid on groupon said if I came back they'd give me a pedi/mani combo for $20. I don't know how they can operate so cheaply and still survive keeping the beauty spa but I don't know if I should know something like that. I might be back I didn't mind the pedicure job they did. For a Sunday no one else was in the salon but me when I went but maybe they are busier during the week or on Saturdays I don't know.
