I believe Adriana is the one of the lead hair stylists and store owner. She did balayage on me and "cleaned up" my hair cut. After we discussed my preferences, we agreed it would be best for her to simply trim some frayed hair rather than give me a full hair cut. In terms of colour, she did deliver on the "cool ashy blonde" I asked for. I would have preferred for the colour to be lighter, but she did caution me my naturally dark hair may not lift as much (which was the case). When we were almost done and she was styling my hair, she noticed some yellow/unsightly tones at the back of my head that weren't entirely toned. Despite already toning, washing and drying my hair, she stopped to re-tone that section. I thought that was very honest of her to do that. It shows her integrity and care to attention for her work. Overall, satisfied and happy I tried out the salon!

She took time to discuss my hair and what I wanted and she made sure I was comfortable with everything at every step of the way. She even happily took photos for my before and afters!! I ended up cutting over 14 inches for Locks of Love and thanks to Marjorie, was completely comfortable and very very happy with the cut. She gave me choices and suggestions and wasn't afraid to let me know when something else would work better than what I had in mind. She's experienced and also wonderful company. I would recommend her for everyone!! I am now happily rockin my new style and the best part is that I love it because Marjorie took the time to make sure of everything before taking the scissors to the hair! This place is definitely not one of those places that discuss you or rush you away because you have a Groupon. For students like myself, it's a financial relief to find such a great caring place at such a reasonable price, but please tip your stylist well! :) they really deserve it here!

Our appointment was for 11 am but at 1030, Amanda text us that Bella was stuck on a GO Bus and wouldn't be able to start until 1130. Normally that's not a big issue, but I was dealing with really tight timelines because of nap times and attention spans, so I couldn't just burn 30 more minutes than expected. I explained this to Amanda, and she said if I could get there soon, she would cut my daughter's hair. The salon opens at 11, but Amanda started with us at 1045. The level of customer service was unreal. Friendly, accommodating, apologetic and I got what I came there for - a sophisticated haircut for my daughter that wasn't just a "who cares you're a kid" cut. The salon is beautiful inside, the sparkling lights about the hair washing station was a nice touch. At the very end, Bella did show up and she seemed nice as well, but Amanda really came through for us. We will be back!!

So I emailed asking to discuss a possible refund or re-do appointment. Reasonable, right? I would have accepted a simple no, but instead, the owner sent me a crazy rant accusing me of being a customer who came in ages ago and left without paying. This is impossible for a few reasons, but mainly: I just moved to Cabbagetown a few months ago, and would never have travelled over an hour from my old address to get my hair done here. I'd never even heard of this place until a month ago. I tried to call and explain to resolve the issue, but she didn't let me talk and called me all kinds of names, cussed me out, and threatened to call the cops. It's very unfortunate that someone stole from this salon, but that someone was not me, and accusing me of that and acting the way she did was totally unacceptable.
