These 2 were warm, friendly, kind and gracious to us. When you go make sure to ask for Ruth as your server. BRAVO and 1000 thank yous to the chef!' Our food was beyond delicious. It was our last day of vacation in Germany and our last meal. I have not had a bad meal this entire time and I am happy to say the streak did not end here!!! The schnitzel is massive and you can have 1, 2 or 3 pieces. Thankfully I had only had breakfast otherwise trying to eat 2 pieces would have been difficult. The potato salad was superb and the wild cranberry sauce was the best I have had all week. If I had been staying the night I would have gotten an extra as a side and taken it home. I will be thinking about that until I return to Germany. it is just THAT good. Treat yourself to some of the fresh homemade bread. The aroma is great (I could only imagine being in the kitchen as it bakes) while it is just sitting on your plate. It had a mix of cumin and anise. Gives a very interesting taste. Very nice outside seating. The only complaint was that I was so full that dessert was out of the question. If you do not enjoy a meal here while your are in Frankfurt then you missed out. Again thank you Ruth for excellent service!!!

Luckily, we got seated but was only able to order something from the main entree. So no appetizers or soups. I ordered the small Schnitzel with roasted potatoes. My wife got the sausage with cheese. That was actually pretty good. The cheese was light and creamy. My schnitzel was ok and would have been better if it came with a mushroom sauce or something. This experience would have been better if we were able to order other items from the menu like the asparagus soup.

We were able in three trips to visit multiple times, exploring the ever-changing appetizer menu - after that we ordered the exact same thing for our mains and typically shared a dessert - the same dessert. That's how much we liked it! The Weinerschitzel (ladies portion) with cranberry and potatoes that seemed to be born in butter was our go to. EVERY TIME. So thin and crispy with just a light squeeze of lemon. The cranberry was a perfect accompaniment.. We always split the pancake with plum compote - again - crispy, not too heavy and in my eyes perfectly paired with the plum. Food amazing and our experiences with the staff was equalled. Always made to feel welcome. Friendly and attentive. I travel for work weekly and have the opportunity to eat in many places. I always look for "local" and locally sourced. So glad we crossed the border in Frankfurt to explore Austrian dishes!! The place is bustling. We never did reservations but would attempt to time our arrival close to opening. The place is busy any day of the week.

There happened to be a seat at the bar and so I stayed there for over an hour with a beer and a cider ordered dinner. The English menu was helpful and I was so tempted to go with one of their venison entrees but managed to fall back to a veal schnitzel that turned out delicious. A different presentation than usual, this schnitzel was definitely fried as opposed to grilled and served with potatoes. Great flavor and a huge portion. Delicious. It's a small place that is clearly a neighborhood favorite. Warm and welcoming.

Nice ambience and staff all speak English and are good at suggesting dishes to try! Beware portions are large - even by American standards!! My partner and I got 2 apps and a main to share and could not finish. We got the hand cheese music(?), beef sausage salad and a mushroom schnitzel. The schnitzel was by far the star of the show (as we should have expected)! The cheese is famous so we had to try it but sheep's cheese is a bit too strong for me and it had a harder texture than I prefer. My partner liked it though so I'd recommend giving it a shot if you're adventurous!! We also got their homemade lemonade which was a fizzy raspberry lemonade. Pretty good as well but wish I had tried one of their ciders!

Only part of Frankfurt's Eschersheim neighborhood since mid-2017, the 350+ year old building unoccupied for some time before Chef Alfred Friedrich and Sommelier Pit Punda purchased the property after the former departed Michelin 2** Lafleur, it is via sites including Opentable that guests are able to make reservations, something indeed necessary as the both indoors and out were filled from 17h00 to 20h00, and likely straight through to midnight. Not aiming for Michelin accolades, but instead focused on regional specialties and memories from Chef Friedrich's Austrian childhood, it is with minimal English spoken and menus printed only in German that Zur Golden Kron operates, a bit of Google Translate via free Wi-Fi paying dividends across two courses served at a leisurely pace given the crowd of fifty or more and only three men in the kitchen. Beginning with housemade Bread, not the best but still a serviceable Sourdough, it was with a gentle breeze blowing that guests waited while watching a family of eight celebrate the birthday of an elderly gentleman, course one arriving some thirty minutes later and comprised of local Charcuterie alongside a 39€ slice of Foie Gras whose small portion and precious price was thankfully justified by it being peerlessly seared and served amidst fresh Mushrooms, pickled Peppers and poached Cherries. Made to wait nearly twenty minutes for empty plates to be cleared, just two servers in constant motion throughout the meal, it was a full sixty minutes later that Entrees arrived, the Spanish Pig impressive in its texture and accoutrements while Wiener Schnitzel compared favorably to the best in town, as too did the satin-smooth Potatoes mixed with Lamb's Tongue Lettuce.
