I have used hagopian once before , not sure why I used them again ? Both times they called and said "do you want us to remove the stains ? Yes ! That is why I brought it to you ? Well they said that is extra ! Wait what ? Both rugs came back with the stains still there . We got this rug cleaned awhile ago but just unrolled it ! ( we bought a second house in Florida) and the room wasn't ready for it until today . The rug looks worst than when we dropped it off ! It was a very expensive rug . Cleaners were rushed. Cleaned both floors in less than an hour. Did not pre-spot clean anything and left with many easily removed spots still on the carpet. Don't waste your money. read more

6/3 UPDATE: Immeditelt after posting this review, Hagopian contacted me to address my concerns. They sent another crew out that came today. Very professional guys and they got some missed stains completely out and made the large worn spot look much better but it wasn't going to come all the way out due to heavy traffic. That's OK though as this crew was determined to do their best. Although the company made me whole, I am still giving a slightly lower review because it was very inconvenient to have to do it twice. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I hired Hagopian to clean my basement carpet as it was pretty dirty from having an office down there. They showed up and were rushing to begin. Within minutes they began cleaning. They appeared to just whiz through it with the commercial shampoo wand. After they were done the carpet looked no different at all; as if they had never been there. I asked why it was still stained and they said they can't get the stains up when the carpet is matted. While I understand that perhaps some stains may not come up, what I don't understand is why on earth they didn't tell me this beforehand?! The guys were nice but clearly in a MAJOR hurry and I could tell they just wanted to get out fast. I contacted the company and so far no response. Buyer beware. I wish I'd have read the reviews before hiring. read more

Initially it sounded like a great deal but after you walk in the door prices can skyrocket if you choose beyond a basic rug cleaning. Service was very very good and quite honestly they did a really nice job cleaning a coffee stain out of our $80 rug but they recommended the deep sanitization and Scotchguarding which inflated the quote 3 times over. They did clean two of our rugs at the $60 initial quote and did a nice job. We were glad we didn't invest more... that said, if you have a really nice rug that needs professional care this is where I'd bring it. read more

We recently took several very nice rugs, for cleaning, to the Hagopian Carpet store on 12 Mile Rd, by Twelve Oaks Mall. One of the rugs was in need of repair. All rugs looked like new when we got them back, and, the area that needed repair on the one carpet was beautifully fixed by a gentleman named Ahmed, a very knowledgeable and true craftsman. I bought high grade very expensive carpet under the advisement of a salesman at Hagopian knowing that we have 2 small dogs and my concern that i needed carpet that would hold up to their running around. Not 9 months later it needs to be replaced. Prior carpet lasted 12 years before replacement for color schemes. Not the dogs fault. 100% salesman's poor knowledge and direction. We've worked with Hagopian in the past for upholstery and carpet cleaning, which they have always done a good job. We are currently working with them to have a carpet runner installed on our staircase and it has been a horrible experience. Our install was scheduled for 2 weeks later than our quoted date, the carpet for our landing was fabricated incorrectly (and had to be secured with masking tape until they could fix it) and we are still having an issue with the binding peeling up. We ordered our carpet November 14th and were told it would be 2-3 weeks. It's January 8th and we are still dealing with this to get it installed correctly. Every time we call to discuss an issue, they seem annoyed to be answering our calls. We rarely get an apology or a sense of urgency to correct the situation. I would not recommend them. I've worked with Home Depot for significantly less money and had a way better experience. read more

Took three small rugs in on July 3rd for the 10 day cleaning. They were not done until August 6th. That is not 10 days. The rugs look the exact same as when I brought them in. The staff was uncooperative and said that they never said that it would be done in 10 days. That is the whole basis of their marketing! Apparently they didn't look at it until July 18th, and didn't initiate it until July 20th. Well... even then then, that was 17 days, not 10. He claimed he had been in communication with us. That is true, some of those communications were to let us know they didn't know where the rugs even were! Calling us to tell us that they aren't done is not effective and not an acceptable reason for it to be longer than the 10 days as advertised. This was a waste of money and a huge waste of my time. read more

I just purchased a round rug and a runner rug for my kitchen. I love my rugs. Everyone who comes to visit can't say enough they always ask where did you get your rugs. Make sure to ask for John he is great. They have he best service they carry in and out all rugs you don't have to lift a finger..... it can't get easier than that. Yesterday I woke up to a sick puppy who made a mess on my white fabric couch and area rug. I reached out to 2 cleaning services for same day service on this Yelp app - Hagopian and Bee Clean Services. Hagopian replied within the hour and were able to successfully clean the couch and rug the same day. Mike and Lucas were great! Highly recommend them! As far as the other cleaning service, they didn't reply until today and said they wouldn't be able to get me in until the end of the month and won't clean white fabric couches. But what sold me even more was the customer service I received from this particular gentleman by the name of Ahmed. He was Knowledgeable professional and willing to help. I took a wool rug in for cleaning. I have never been up charged like that in my 63 yrs of life. Extra to get out a couple small spots, extra to disinfect , extra to deodorize , on and on to a 673.00 fee. I asked them why the heck it would need all those additional'. " we just clean it with water", it will still have germs and smell. I went back and got my rug and I cleaned it beautifully with Woolite. Doesn't stink and the spots came out that they wanted extra to remove when cleaning. Never again read more

Called the Novi /Birmingham carpet cleaning office for cleaning rooms in our house [Clarkston]. Carpet is just 3 years old & high quality, fully backed and all. I took a tape measure to each room with lady on phone to get an estimate; she quoted me for 4 rooms & a stair case at just under $170 for just carpet cleaning & no scotch guard, no deodorizer, no microban. She gave me an additional optional price for basement stairwell & basement with deodorizer & micro-ban but the basement was way too expensive for what they do. So just had them do carpet upstairs for the ~$170 for just the cleaning. Set appointment & a week later 2 cleaners arrive [on time actually]. They tried to charge me almost double as soon as they walked in door for the upstairs, not even seeing house, literally on door step: and he said his sheet said 10 rooms & stairs, not 4 rooms and a stairs. Once he realized his paperwork was wrong, he lowered price by only a fraction which was still $50 more than estimate from phone. He also tried to deny any lady on phone gave me estimate since its not what they do. He flat out lied. For that I almost threw them out of house at that instant, but since I took day off to wait for these clowns & my wife worked for 2 days to clear everything out of way for them in house I wanted the carpet cleaned without further delay. We came to an agreed price for switching around some work, basically I had them just do 3 rooms instead of 4, doing 2 walk-in closets instead of a bedroom, the stair case, and a basement stair case with deodorizer . Plus I had them Scotch-guard [which I regret since it made carpet feel heavy] . That cost me $270. Then all of a sudden they were done, not even 30 minutes from time they arrived to packing up. That's including working out the price. They rushed the cleaning and the results looked like they rushed it, most every dirty area they cleaned came back after it dried. The resulting job was simply poor. I even forced them to fix some obvious misses before they left., he tried giving some excuse that the carpet must only and just cheap poly, so it was then more obvious than ever he had no idea what he was talking about and is so used to giving excuses for poor work he just defaults to his standard response to people. Once I correct him on the type, age and quality of carpet, all opposite what he stated as excuse for his poor work, he then agreed that "oh, yeah, your right, I see some missed spots too'. Then told his helper to grab the wand again. I will not recommend this company and its simply the lack of honesty and trying to do a good job that makes me angry how such companies stay in business. I dropped two hand made rugs for the cleaning and one of them turned as one side is wider than other side(my rug's shape is not a rectangel), the other still has the same small stains. There is no answer for any complains, not being even sorry. I will never go that place.
