She would always ask if I needed anything, how I was doing and even brought me a box right away when I said I probably wouldn't finish the pancake as opposed to waiting until my bill arrived. This is your normal standard family restaurant. Lots of elderly are here and it's due to the classic homestyle cooking and easy parking lot. The bad: when I entered, the sign said wait to be seated and so I did. They have 1 person running the register which does clog up because when you are done eating here, you walk up and pay. This caused confusion into who is waiting to be seated vs. paying. I stood around for 10 minutes before a staff member offered to help. Staff should know who is coming and going but I have compassion when it gets busy. I pointed to the sign and said is it seat yourself? The staff member looked confused so I told her that I have been waiting on a table. It shouldn't take 10 minutes to iron out customers. Recommendations include another staff member at the front to control new walk ins to mitigate confusion or better attention from the staff at the register. The ugly: I thought I left my wireless mouse there as I worked from my computer. When I called to inquire about my missing item, the staff member was rude , she put me on hold after I stated my reason for calling and said she needed to help another customer. When she came back on the line, she proceeded to not really care about my ask, couldn't hear my ask correctly in the first place and then asked where I was sitting. This was such a turn off for me. Food is a 4. Service is a 2.5.

Pulling into thr parking lot and seeing it full made me feel like I was on to something good! You walk in to a small shelf with these gargantuan cinnamon rolls on display that I'm sure double as a pillow for when you eat the first one. Pro tip, Buy TWO!!! We were greeted and seated promptly and our drinks came out quickly. Our server was by soon after to take our orders. She did an excellent job and had a warm personality I hope to see so far up north! Being from a more southern state I found it interesting to see a "taco omelette" on the menu and almost didn't order it but I had to try! It was a fun change of pace and hit the spot. It's not gonna be go to item for me but it's always cool to try new things . It was delicious and chocked full of ground beef!! I enjoyed it with a dab of sour cream. Wifey enjoyed her eggs Benny and the kiddo had a pretty epic looking waffle. For two bucks you get all the cool whipped cream and strawberry compote!! Overall an excellent experience and it's easy to see the locals love it!!

When things had finally stabilized we decided to take ourselves out and landed at Lucky 13's. This is my kinda joint. Pub atmosphere, perfect (free) popcorn, fantastic retro tuneage, and speedy, efficient service are a given. The food is next level nom nom. They're one of the few restaurants out there that does a Monte Cristo sammich and when it's paired with their custom L13 Tots? Epicurean delights abound. The only reason I'm giving the experience 4 stars (rather than 5) is because their checkout process is entirely too old school. And the pen I was given to sign the receipt had little-to-no ink left in it. I know. Seems petty. But when it takes so long to do the whole card-bill-process-return dance that asking for a better writing utensil seems like a huge effort? Yup.

We were seated promptly and got our complimentary popcorn per usual. I ordered the taco salad bowl with chicken and my husband had a burger. Our server was delightful. The space was clean and mirrored all the other Lucky's establishments. In MN, we have a live station with typically a volunteer running pull tabs. To our surprise, it was a pull tab machine here. Even more lucky, I pulled a $600 winner and we also got a few $5 ones bringing our jackpot to $610!!! What a lovely day and experience. Thank you!!

The menu has all the basics you want from a middle eastern place - but that Dubai brownie was the bomb! Oh, dang, I guess I will have to go back to try those as well (like I wasn't planning to anyway). Give Daan a try. I am hoping it becomes a staple in the ever growing Fargo food scene.

Our server was attentive, but a smile or a little friendliness would have gone a long way. We had two kids with us who ordered chicken strips and fries. When we asked for ketchup, we were given tiny packets that seemed to contain about three drops each. By the time I finished opening packet after packet, squeezing every last molecule of ketchup out, and creating a sticky mess on the table, my food was cold. The same could be said for the ranch containers--small, cheap, and gone before you knew it. I felt like I was preparing condiments for a fast-food drive-thru rather than dining in a restaurant. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. Both adult meals were cold and were lacking flavor. Considering the price, the meal simply wasn't worth the cost. We left disappointed and wondering what happened to a place we used to really enjoy.
