He was exceptional - so patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Ronnie and Margarita removed the old carpet and installed the new. They were prompt, professional, extremely hard-working, and did a great job. We have only positive things to say about Carpet Gallery. So glad that we chose them!

I told the salesman that I wanted relatively inexpensive carpet and he showed me some very small sized samples. I paid half of the cost down and it was delivered in January 2021. As it turned out, this carpet was the most horrible looking carpet you would ever want to see, The guys that delivered the carpet demanded the check before the carpet was laid down and told me after I asked about the stain like markings on it, that it would look better after being laid down for a couple days. I did not have my glasses with me, and I hate confrontations , so I waited 2 days and then went back to this empty house I was having work done in. Well the carpet even looked worse , and I called the Carpet Gallery. They refused to offer to do anything about it , and insisted nothing was wrong with it. I filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau, but the Carpet Gallery did not respond. Finally , I reluctantly filed a small claims lawsuit. Unfortunately the judge was not pro consumer and I knew a few minutes into the hearing that he was on the side of the company. That feeling made me nervous and I did not do a good job of presenting my case. I had read before the hearing that it was very difficult to win a carpet lawsuit based on the bad appearance of the carpet. Anyway I can appeal but I don't know if it would be worth the time and effort. So all I can do is warn as many people as possible about this company. Once they get their hands on your money, you are over with them and they will not do anything to satisfy any complaints you might have,

Their price was high, but on par with other contractors. Burkholder's sales staff is very professional and their installer is very skilled. However, there were issues. When the installer cut out the old fiberglass shower enclosure, he did nothing to contain the dust. He did not hang plastic or use an air filtration system. Also, he did not have enough tarps to cover the entire floor, so roughly one third of the floor was not protected. Before the installer was about to grout the shower, I learned he was planning to grout the corners and other areas of a shower where dissimilar construction materials meet. Having done many home improvement projects over the years, I was fairly confident those areas should be caulked and not grouted. But I wanted to be certain, so I called the grout manufacturer, Laticrete. I spoke to two technical representatives (one used to work as a professional tile installer), and both advised against grouting those areas because the grout will crack. So, I told the installer to use color matched caulk instead of grout in those areas. He said Burkholder's has never had a problem with the grout cracking, but they would order the caulk that matches the grout. When I returned later to check on his progress, I noticed the entire shower was grouted. I asked him about that and he said the owner instructed him to grout the entire shower and caulk over those areas later. Applying caulk on top of grout is also wrong and something I confirmed with Laticrete. Grout is a porous surface, so there is a high likelihood the caulk will separate from the grout and mold will form under the caulk. I questioned the owner about this in a text and he wrote, "We always caulk after grouting, with no issues." Not true, according to the installer. They never caulk their tiled shower enclosures. The owner knew what he was doing was wrong, but did it anyway. I could have insisted that Burkholder's remove the grout and replace it with color matched caulk, but I was concerned they would do a poor job, just to make a point. So, I asked them to warranty the grout against cracking for 10 years. As expected, they would only agree to warranty the grout for 17 months. The normal warranty is 12 months. After the job was finished, I asked Burkholder's for their MHIC license number, and they could not produce one. In Maryland, unless you are a subcontractor performing work for an MHIC licensed contractor, you must have an MHIC license to do home improvements. That includes bathroom remodels and installing flooring, other than carpet. If you decide to use Burkholder's, make sure they are licensed to do the work you want them to perform. Also, know the law and insist they follow it. In Maryland, you can check the status of a home improvement contractor's license by going to: https://www.dllr.state.md.us/cgi-bin/ElectronicLicensing/OP_search/OP_search.cgi?calling_app=HIC::HIC_qselect

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I can not express how much I appreciate you and your crew!!…read moreAnyone looking for someone reliable, honest, hard working and has beautiful quality then these are your guys. They have completed several jobs for me from adding new rooms to finishing basements, to putting in tile floors and building fences. It's always been completed on time and for the quoted price. You should expect this from any company but you actually get it from these guys, which is rare this day in age. As with anything problems do come up and this is truly the test of a great contractor. I saved and saved to get wood floors put in my home, took months to get through the refinancing of my hous to afford it. During those months a searched for the perfect flooring and I found it, or so I thought. It was a beautiful cherry solid hard wood flooring by Home Legends and purchased through Home Depot. I moved out all of my furniture, scheduled a week off work and kenneled my dogs. It sucked, to put it frankly, packing up and almost moving out of my house but watching the boxes and boxes of flooring setting in my home waiting for the installation day made it all worth it. The day came, the crew worked hard and had the floor put in during the week they promised and it was gorgeous..... for about 20 minutes. Then the clear coat started to bubble, more and more every day until my floor ( in my entire house ) was a wreck. Rich from Facelift quickly made a claim on my behalf with Home Depot and the manufacturer. Home Legands sent and inspector out to look at my floor and found that it was a defect from the manufacturer and Home Legands promptly reimbursed me for the cost of the flooring.. ONLY the cost of the hard wood flooring. This left both me and Rich in a bind but being the fault was neither of ours and the money was not enough to rip out and reinstall new flooring we decided that sanding and refinishing it would have to work. So another week off work, and kenneling the dogs and the exhausting part of moving out of my home again. Then the sanding began but the only thing it resulted in was some torn up sanders and a floor that could not be refinished due to the wood being the root of the problem and not the clear coat. Getting that phone call makes your stomach drop. 20k down the drain and a floor I can no longer live with. I held my breath and guessed it was time to lawyer up. Who to sue? Home Legands for making and selling faulty products (which I later researched were made in China) or Home Depot for continuing to use them as a supplier knowing all the horror stories people had about them!!! Plus how long would I have to live with no floor!! But those were just rushing thoughts because before I could complete them Rich said he would take on the cost and handle going to court if he has to on my behalf. I could have cried. I write this review from the comfort of my bed that is setting on my new and gorgeous flooring. He and his crew worked 12 hour days to get it done and helped me move my furniture back in place. This is ABOVE and BEYOND anything I would have even asked for someone to do for me and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for taking on this burden and making it right for me. I hope Home Depot makes this right and takes the burden from him and they handle the legal battle with Home Legands. Untimantly it is a problem between the manufacturer and Home Depot because they can quickly get a bad rep for selling defective products and then not honoring there promise to customers for satisfaction. In this case Rich with Facelift remodeling held that promise on their behalf and for that alone they should make this right for him.
