Timeline detailed team arriving over the course of 3 days and what to expect during this time. The Triad team - Michael, Justin and Roberto - arrived as scheduled on their assigned days. Before starting work for that day they again went over every detail of what they would be doing. Master plumber Justin Dorrier was amazing in his handling of the plumbing side of this process. His attention to detail and explanations clearly showed his professionalism and knowledge as a master plumber. I wish we had never heard of this company. The install of the french drains and sump pump went…read morehorribly. They promised they would not break through asbestos tiles, but instead carefully lift them. They blasted right through the asbestos tiles requiring us to talk to a remediation company and do a safety clean up (though they insisted that wasn't necessary when we complained and accused us of trying to bleed them for unnecessary expenses -- we had not even asked them for a dime, and they were the ones who broke an explicit promise to us). They left open gaps in the cement after covering the french drain that we had to have addressed after they left (after confirming with this company that they would not accuse us of voiding the warranty if we did) and totally destroyed the efficacy of our radon mitigation sytem, which they said nothing to us about when inspecting the site to provide their workplan and estimate before the install. They claimed not to see it, but the radon system has bright red labels all over it and was in plain sight for both the inspection and while the guys were doing the work. Ray Charles would have seen it. So, we've had to pay more to address that. Insult to injury, our security system picked up one of their guys looking through our stuff in the basement, and when we complained about that, the owner made implicit threats about how we would ruin a relationship in which we may need them to come make repairs to our system in the future if we told anyone about it. As others have mentioned, he also offered us $100 to not post bad reviews. We didn't take the money, but others might, so careful on relying on reviews for this company. Spare yourselves. Go with someone else.

Phenomenal! Value…read moreDry was a referral from another small local company whom I implicitly trust. Markus, their VP, came out to give us a proposal and quote. We then got proposals from two other local companies. Though Value Dry was not the lowest quote, we felt by far the most comfortable using them. And we are very glad we did. Our entire basement, which is entirely below grade, has (had!) water seepage due to hydrostatic pressure (water is forced into the house from underground), especially this last year with all of the rain we've had. And we have a huge basement. Markus proposed a new french drain around the entire interior perimeter of our basement, all of the exterior walls: 210 linear feet in total (we have a big basement). He explained in-depth what they proposed to do and why and how. They also added a second sump pump for us. And a battery back-up pump. They sent a crew of just three guys. Roger was the foreman, and you just have to love that guy. Great personality and he calmly and politely answered every question I had (I'm a detail freak). They were fantastic. They kept everything as clean as possible (not completely, but you can only do so much for concrete dust from jackhammers). Their work was very detail-oriented. It was cool seeing the destruction followed by the construction, laying down the new PVC underground drainage pipes, the new concrete on top of it, etc. Roger and I had discussions throughout the week about how best to do several things, like where and how to place the clean-outs (we have two) for the pipes. Bottom line: Look no further. They are honest. Not too expensive. And they deliver exactly what they say they will. Also, just a few weeks after completing our basement they did a smaller job for my in-laws, also local. They were just as happy with their work and with both Markus and Roger and his crew as we were. ONE STAR -- HOMEOWNERS SHOULD THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE HIRING VALUE DRY…read more My experience with Value Dry Waterproofing was one of the most disappointing and disturbing contractor experiences I have ever had. Based on what happened at my home, I would never hire this company again, would never recommend them to family or friends, and believe the public deserves to know how my project was handled before trusting Value Dry with their home, foundation, structural work, or money. I hired Value Dry for approximately $12,000 of foundation, masonry, sill/bearing, debris-removal, and structural-support work associated with getting my house properly back onto its foundation. I paid Value Dry $8,000 in two separate $4,000 payments. The work was not completed. What happened afterward is what I consider deeply unethical, unprofessional, and morally unacceptable business conduct. During the project, Value Dry performed demolition and foundation-related work. I complained at the time that substantially more masonry had been broken out than I had requested. After this work had already been performed, I was then told that another $1,500 would be required to restore openings. I repeatedly explained that I had never approved this unexpected charge in advance and asked Value Dry to provide a written breakdown explaining exactly what supposedly was not included in the original $12,000 agreement. Even more troubling, Value Dry later acknowledged that its own representative had failed to obtain the required signed change order before the disputed work was performed. Think about that from a homeowner's perspective. Your house is already torn apart. Masonry has already been removed. The work has already been performed. Then you are told that additional money is needed to restore what has been opened up. In my opinion, that is an outrageous way to put a homeowner in an extremely vulnerable bargaining position. The unfinished work was not some insignificant cosmetic punch-list work. A subsequent written agreement addressed two permanent Lally columns, removal of existing block columns and debris, restoration of twelve openings, and disposal of concrete debris. Value Dry then scheduled its crew to return on July 21, 2026, to continue the remaining work. Value Dry was also actively coordinating with Wolfe House Movers during this project. Value Dry specifically advised me that they were scheduled with Wolfe. I also repeatedly raised concerns about properly sealing and protecting the sill assembly against moisture before the house was lowered. Detailed instructions concerning the sill plates, sealing, moisture barriers, and related protection were communicated to Value Dry and acknowledged. I asked Value Dry to remove debris from inside and outside the basement and level affected dirt areas. Value Dry did not respond that this was somebody else's responsibility. They told me they could not do it that day but would do it the following week. I also notified Value Dry in writing and with photographs that a masonry support area surrounding a temporary wood post appeared broken and compromised. I specifically requested immediate professional evaluation and stabilization because I was concerned about the structural safety of my home. Then came what I consider the most outrageous part of this entire experience. After agreeing to remaining work and after scheduling its crew to return, Value Dry President James A. Ketterer sent me written notice on July 17 that Value Dry would perform no additional work at my home and would not return for the scheduled July 21 appointment. Value Dry stated that it would not seek any additional payments from me and that it considered the money already received adequate compensation for the work it had completed. Read that carefully. They did not say that all of the agreed work had been completed. They said, in substance, that the money they had already received was adequate compensation for the work they had completed, and then announced that they would perform no additional work. In my opinion, that is absolutely astonishing. A contractor should not be able to accept thousands of dollars, become deeply involved in a major structural project, leave agreed-upon work unfinished, schedule a return date to continue that work, and then simply announce that the company is no longer comfortable performing additional work. Imagine if homeowners conducted themselves that way. Imagine a homeowner signing a contract, allowing a contractor to perform thousands of dollars of work, and then halfway through simply announcing, "I don't feel comfortable paying you anymore." Value Dry certainly would not consider that acceptable. Contractual responsibility and professional integrity should work both ways. What makes this even more frustrating is that I was actively attempting to resolve the dispute. I proposed putting the disputed money into neutral escrow so that Value Dry could be assured the money

I asked him if he could replace a corner brick for my ground patio, and touch up grouting around the bricks. I know nothing of concrete and bricks, that's why I needed someone. He said he was going to come Monday 09/23. He got the work done, and I tipped him roughly 13% on top of the estimate he game me. Two days later the one corner brick he replaced was good, but 3 nearby bricks cracked in half. That one stretch of grouting I wanted touched up was fixed, but new cracks formed as a result of the work completed. I messaged him 09/25 saying roughly more damage has been done than his work was supposed to fix. He asked if he could come Saturday 09/28. I said sure. It was beautiful day I would have preferred to goto the beach or something. I waited all day and afternoon and sent him messages. I didn't get a message until that evening that he wasn't going to come. Maybe he went to the beach for me! He asked if he could come Monday 09/30. I said sure, just park and do what you need. He never came just asked me what the weather was. So I took a screenshot of the weather for the next 10 days and sent to him 09/30 in the evening, then asked him on 10/03 when he would like to come. Today is 10/05 and I haven't received a message. Today is also a beautiful day, maybe he went to the beach for me!
