I like going with my dad…read moreand browsing but since becoming a homeowner I find myself doing more tasks around the house and Harbor Freight has good tools and household items at a very fair price. They also have coupons where you get get free or discounted items. The tools are good quality. It may not last as long as a Ryobi or Craftsman ( yes, I still love Craftsman!) but it also won't cost as much. I have bought a variety of products from sanders, to screwdrivers and bits to stands for wood, flashlights, garden hose and many other items. I have always felt like I have gotten my money's worth. The store is well organized, clean and the staff are always pleasant. This is usually my first stop for general things needed around the house.

Thinking I was now stuck at finding a perfect match in color I decided to check out Home Depot. Fast forward to yesterday....the young lady working behind the counter was absolutely amazing. She looked at the pictures of the door as it was and the color samples I liked. She immediately researched them both and showed me the swatch sample she had. Next she told me that I would really need to apply a mold killer as it looked like mold on my door and sanding it prior to doing that would risk inhaling it. She literally, walked me around the department to ensure I had everything I needed....mold killer, sanders, rollers, even a mold and mildew preventing primer. Now it came down to choosing the paint. She went and researched which product would be best for a metal door. Once all that was done it came time to choose the color....I was so nervous because I really wanted a perfect match (I have shutters that are the same color as the door and they compliment the rest of the house perfectly). I went with her recommendation. Got home and was so absolutely impressed with her selection...it was a perfect match. My only regret was that I didn't get her name. She definitely went above and beyond in her professionalism and care by walking me through this project. The door looks absolutely amazing and I can never thank her enough. I will definitely go back to the store to see if I can find her again for my next painting project.

Ordered appliances (2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, and 3 stoves) March 5th. They were supposed to…read morebe delivered today 24 June. They ended selling two of the stoves and were going to offer us upgraded stoves but they wouldn't get them until 24 July. Customer Service (Ron) is who we were talking to. We told him to cancel the two stoves and still deliver everything else. He said even if we cancel those items the delivery was still going to be 24 July. Customer service was very rude on the phone. He said no one could get us appliances earlier than a month. We requested to talk to his supervisor. His supervisor was very friendly and gladly cancelled out it. We went two blocks down the street and ordered the same items, with the upgrades, and they will be delivered Monday. Saved over $1000 too.

Before placing the special order, I asked more than once what would happen if the item didn't fit. I was repeatedly assured that it would. When the item arrived, it did **not** fit. I had concerns as soon as I saw it, but was still told it would work. I returned the item as directed by my employer. The purchase was made with my **personal funds**, and now I am still waiting for my refund. The most frustrating part was the attitude during the return process--it felt like I was inconveniencing them, even though the item did not match the assurance I was given. If you're placing a special order here, make sure you get the return policy and compatibility guarantees **in writing**. Clear communication and timely refunds should be standard. My husband and I popped in one afternoon, as we are looking to modernize and upgrade our kitchen lighting. Karah, the sales girl who promptly greeted us, was knowledgeable, helpful and offered us additional catalogs to browse. (She even sent us home with several.) I loved all of the cabinet and door hardware they have! There was everything from lizard handles to whimsical fiddlehead ferns. I could have browsed them all afternoon! While their selection [of most everything] is lovely and mostly on the more unique side, it is all quite pricey and likely outside of our rather small reno budget. But go and check this place out! After the storm passed, I attempted to return the item unused and in it's original unopened packaging along with my proof of purchase (original receipt). The clerk refused to refund my $24.59, stating that the item was Hurricane related and was not returnable. I was not informed of this policy at the time of the transaction. I will no longer patronize this business and I will caution others to avoid this place of business because of their deceptive business practices.
