The quality of pinestraw is really poor. It was full of dirt, debris and decaying straw. Their other products are great.

Came here for the datil pepper festival and it was very well organized. A little off the beaten…read morepath the vendors are what makes the festival great. If you're about supporting local this was as local as it could get. Entrepreneurs with their creations and ideas for all to experience, be educated about, and purchase. There were people set up outside under tents/covers and the prime spots were inside in the AC. Thankfully it wasn't prime time summer for this festival. The sauce winner for today was Mayhem Bros. Their Datil peppers are farmed in the Pomona Park area and they've been on this labor of love journey for about 5 years. They made their way onto some local restaurant tables and the biggest are 4 Rivers and Burrito Gallery. Check them out at www.minorcanmayhem.com. Their sauce adds heat and flavor and it's so good. I don't know what other events they have here but this festival was enjoyable. I'll be back for sure and will keep an eye out for other events.

There were over 30 vendors inside and outside offering a wide variety of datil products. The SJC Master Gardeners had their pants for sale as part of their fundraising activities. The most interesting find this year was a sugar coated Datil peppers. If you like heat this ones for you. Hot hot hot!!! It nearly killed me. I ended up buying five different flavored Datil jellies from a few vendors. We had some interesting samples too. The Ghost pepper on cream cheese on a cracker was firey hotness. We bought a few tasting tickets for a dollar each and had some delicious samples from different restaurants in the area. We voted for our two favorites. I highly recommend this festival if you're a gardener and love plants but especially if you love spicy food and sauces.

As a long-time, loyal customer of Turner Ace Hardware, I've spent years buying my hardware supplies…read morethere, but as of today, I'm done. On August 15, I went into the store to buy paint supplies. While speaking to one of their customer service representatives, I mentioned I had an old quart of paint that needed stirring. She told me to bring it in and they'd stir-shake it for me. That afternoon, I did exactly that, only to have the service rep on duty tell me, "Sorry, we don't shake paint not bought from here." I was Infuriated. This wasn't just inconvenient, it was insulting. We're talking about a single quart of paint, from a customer who had just purchased supplies and who was explicitly told to bring it in! Sure, I understand refusing a contractor with a truckload of paint, but to turn away a loyal resident customer over one old quart? Especially after your own employee invited me to bring it in! This is ridiculous. It shows exactly where Turner Ace Hardware's priorities lie, not with their customers, but with a narrow, profit-obsessed rulebook. It's short-sighted. It's senseless. And frankly, it's a slap in the face to everyone who supports Turner. Home Depot is just one mile down the road, they shook my paint without hesitation, even though I didn't buy it there. That's how you treat customers. Bottom line: I'm done with Turner Ace Hardware. Account closed.
