    @ Hafen Park - 10/19/17 October 22, 2017

Hafen Park is one of the better parks in town. I walked the Roadrunner Trail that connects to this park with my fur kid and we spent more time here than the other 4 parks along the trail. The park is spacious and there's plenty of open grass. There's also a pond with a cute bridge that goes to a small island. A covered pavilion with tables can be found near the tennis courts and near the covered playground. Bathrooms, water fountains, bike racks, BBQ grills, a couple of uncovered picnic tables near the flagpole and a basket ball court are all offered here. One of the newer additions to the park is the splash pad and it's a decent size. Rules and months the splash pad is open can be found on a sign near the entrance. This park isn't open 24 hours like some of the others in Mesquite. There's a private parking lot near the tennis courts as well near the pond/playground.

Clean, sparkling new park that had only freshly opened not too long before we happened to visit. We didn't spend an exorbitant amount of time in the park since we had to be somewhere later that night, but it was nice to kick off our shoes and play in the sprinklers, take in the relaxing waterside views and explore a bit. There were some families milling about enjoying themselves during our visit, too! Didn't seem like an especially large park, so I don't know that there's enough to entertain people for a much longer stay, but we enjoy ours!

A couple years ago when my parents moved to Mesquite, we were AMAZED with their park system…read more There's a bike trail that connects them ALL and we spent spring break exploring the entire bike trail and all the parks on it. All the parks have a sun shade over them and have very creative (and different! We loved the variety!) play structures. They were well thought out. Although, after our most recent visit, I think they must have all been relatively new our first visit, because a few of them, Desert Rose especially, have fallen into some neglect. The sun shade has holes in it, the grass is now all weed and no grass, so no one wants to play in it, the sand level is low, part of the climbing structure is broken, and most noticeable (and a lawsuit waiting to happen) - the playground tiles are warping a sticking up, making an easy tripping hazard for running/playing children. Oh, and they play sand is infested with ants near the spinning/circular structure. They HAVE re-done the basketball court recently, so that's a plus. I've actually never used the bathrooms, but they do have them here. I hope the city of Mesquite will keep up their parks. It was an amazing plan, but if not well taken care of, I can see it being a waste of money and playgrounds being ripped out do to hazardous conditions that could've easily been avoided with proper maintenance. I hope to be able to update this review next time I'm in town!

This place is my little sanctuary. The water is BEAUTIFUL and it's only an hour and 40ish drive to here from vegas. I could stay in the little pool and watch the waterfall and river for days. This is also a really beautiful spot to take photos too. I'm so so so happy that I had the opportunity to see the beauty of this place. Fun fact, there's the cutest little air bnb on a farm for 2 that's only 5 minutes away from little Jamaica. It's called the purple house and it's great place to stay in if you want to hang out at the river for more than one day! This place honestly leaves me speechless. I luckily didn't experience any trash really. This really is my favorite hidden gem it's such a beautiful place to relax at. THE WAY THERE: It can get really confusing to get down to the water hole! There's a gate thing and once you go past that you turn right and eventually you should pass through a tall grass patch. The rocks near the water are very slippery, so make sure you're being careful or wearing water shoes with some traction. There's also a rope tied to the rock to help you get down!
