This particular park is just outside the library and has plenty of grass, playground area, I even saw someone doing yoga while we were there. As an added bonus, the library has been recently re-done and had tons of activities, toys, etc for the kids to use. We were impressed! We were there in the evening and there was quite a bit of ant activity - I'm not sure if there's anything that can be done about that, if it's a cleanliness issue or if they're just active that time of day. We also witness a dog fight over on the bike path while there and the owners had a few choice words to say to each other that was NOT kid friendly (both owners should've probably had their dogs on leashes... but the language wasn't warranted in my opinion). Overall, this is a great park and well maintained (probably due to the proximity to the library... some of their other parks need work)

It would appear the one size fits all is the newer part of the park because it actually has a very nice walking path that goes all the way around the outside. It is also about 50% bigger than the small and the big dog park combined. Plenty of water in all of the parks as well as poop bag dispensers and trash cans. Or metal trash poles depending on where you like to stick it? All the Parks have a nice shaded seating area as well as multiple benches spaced around the parks. There's a nice little parking lot right next to the big and small dog park as well as street parking. But it is by far the biggest and most enjoyable dog park in mesquite!

The playground outside the dog park is overgrown with grass, so it can't be a matter of it being too much too maintain. Granted there are covered tables for owners to sit at, but still. I hate having to take my big dogs out in this heat, even if it's only for a short time, but they needed to get out of our truck after being cooped up on a 4hr drive. When I researched nearby dog parks when we arrived to Mesquite, this was the closest to our RV park. Since the images appeared to have grass and our RV park was not suitable for dogs because its dog area was all gravel, I figured I'd bring them here for a short time to run free. I will give credit for the two water spigots placed on each side of the park that actually had cold water. Thank God we're only here for the night.

A couple years ago when my parents moved to Mesquite, we were AMAZED with their park system…read more There's a bike trail that connects them ALL and we spent spring break exploring the entire bike trail and all the parks on it. All the parks have a sun shade over them and have very creative (and different! We loved the variety!) play structures. They were well thought out. Although, after our most recent visit, I think they must have all been relatively new our first visit, because a few of them, Desert Rose especially, have fallen into some neglect. The sun shade has holes in it, the grass is now all weed and no grass, so no one wants to play in it, the sand level is low, part of the climbing structure is broken, and most noticeable (and a lawsuit waiting to happen) - the playground tiles are warping a sticking up, making an easy tripping hazard for running/playing children. Oh, and they play sand is infested with ants near the spinning/circular structure. They HAVE re-done the basketball court recently, so that's a plus. I've actually never used the bathrooms, but they do have them here. I hope the city of Mesquite will keep up their parks. It was an amazing plan, but if not well taken care of, I can see it being a waste of money and playgrounds being ripped out do to hazardous conditions that could've easily been avoided with proper maintenance. I hope to be able to update this review next time I'm in town!

I'm traveling through this small Nevada town called Mesquite looking for a truck stop shower. Having no luck I pull in to the gym. It's well sized, clean, and it has Andrew! He did the most. The shower was only $2, and as Andrew pointed out, that's only because it's the weekend, otherwise it would've been free! Free I tell you! WOW... I'm not in Sacramento (or any other town I've ever inquired about a shower at the gym before!!!) He went on to offer the family bathroom after I asked if my service animal could come inside. I thought that was an incredibly kind. We talked to some about a small town living. And he went onto share some of his aspirations. I think that this young man would make a fantastic entrepreneur and I think the town here would benefit from chipping in and donating money to this young man ... or simply investing, so that he could open a family fun center with miniature golf, go karts, maybe some bowling, darts, water balloons; you know those sort of things. Some final thoughts on the gym. The runs were spacious and the atmosphere was active and busy, but relaxed and "familiar"... I like bit like home.
