The cabbage was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned. I was delighted to find they were spicy, with visible red pepper flakes. The Dutch potatoes were creamy and cheesy...a new fave! The roll with the cinnamon butter was a treat indeed. And the tea? We like ours half & half...delivered in big cups with extra ice just the way we like it! I also got an English Toffee Latte to go...and it did not disappoint. Neither did the waitstaff, who were friendly, engaging and ensured our food was delivered with a smile. We left with slices of chocolate, coconut cream, and pecan caramel pie, a loaf of sourdough, and a mocha brownie treat for later. Ohhhh, and a ginormous cinnamon roll, cause why not?! The biscuit that accompanied the omelet was cold and hard. My dining companion liked her french toast, but noted her eggs, though properly prepared over medium, were cold. This year, there were 13 of us, sharing multiple meals together. Everyone in our New Bern office loves Gemelli's. We order lunch there often, but have never had any kind of catering done. I went in during lunch, thinking I would just grab a menu for their catering and be on my way. Matteo took the time to talk to me about their offerings and put together a spread with a lot of variety and great flavors. We had two sandwich trays and a large salad. We picked the items up from the store, and they were neatly packaged and organized, with all the condiments on the side (to keep the sandwiches from getting soggy). The staff even helped us get everything out to the car so we didn't have to make multiple trips. They also provided a wide variety of chips on the side. Everything from the bread to the vegetables was fresh and delicious! The variety was great, and exposed us to some sandwiches none of us had ordered before. Several staff members who had not had the sandwiches before commented that they think these are the best sandwiches in New Bern. While there is no question that we will continue to order lunch from Gemelli's, they will definitely feature prominently on our list of places to order catered meals from.
