We had a very nice lunch at Hacienda Real. It was kinda loud for the middle of the day but the is a personal thing. There was now handicap door. The service from the hostess to the server was fantastic very friendly and efficient. The chips and salsa we fantastic the chips were hot and salted which was nice. The pick 3 was very good but i ordered all 3 with onion added but didn't get it. The drinks were very good the mojito was very flavorful and pretty too. The parking was convenient and free.

Big space inside with lots of tables. Service was little slow even if it was not crowded. Little chilli inside in such big restaurant Vegetarian food review Watermelon mocktail - 1/5 - there was something added to get smoke which was wiard. Taste was not good. Sizzling Fajitas - 3/5 - Grilled veggies were good. As rice not veg it was replaced by beans. Guacamole was sour and not fresh. Combo platter- sope, taco and enchiladas - 3/5 - using vegan chorizo.

This was hands down the best Mexican food and experience I had ever had. We came in about 5:30 on a Friday to find they were booked for the night! But luckily there was plenty of room at the bar and it was full service! We started with some drinks, all of which were amazing, I got a margarita flight and my husband got a specialty cocktail! We then moved on to appetizers, we got the queso expecting your run of the mill Mexican restaurant queso and was surprised with something MUCH better. The flavor was amazing. I ordered the fajita chimichanga and my husband got a pork dish I now can't remmeber the name. Everything was easily a 10 out of 10. I love 2 hours from this location and would make that drive again just to eat here!

Food with a side of fraud. Before I ate here I said I would take pictures and leave a review after, good or bad, so here it is. Cons: - I paid for two checks and since we had a group of maybe 9 people there was a 20% gratuity added. Would have been nice to be told that up front but that's fine. What isn't fine is the restaurant adding another 20% on top, which is either fraud or at the very least really poor customer service. I assume this happened to every check at my table but we're still researching - I was told I'd have a call back in 30 minutes and it has now been 2 hours - I also messaged the owner but no return text yet - my next step is report this to my credit card company and possibly the Geneva police to deter this from happening to other people as I won't be eating here again - the server also had us repeat ourselves several times (what part of no meat is hard to understand?) and the beans and rice tasted weird - prices were higher than La Campana in Bloomingdale and portions were smaller Good: - the atmosphere was good - the restrooms were clean and nice - the food was decent except the rice and beans - the service was mostly fine except for the credit card fraud Neutral - spanish dance music is played while you eat I'd suggest not going here If you do, pay in cash If you go and don't pay in cash take a picture of your receipt and check your credit card statement later

We tried Hacienda for lunch today and will definitely return. The ambiance and service today was wonderful and we could actually tell that a lot of fresh quality ingredients were used. Very fresh and flavorful! The drinks are fantastic so we'd even come back for cocktails and appetizers. We had the guacamole trio, queso dip, mojacete and enchiladas de mole. We loved everything aside from the rice. The flavors of the molcajete were fantastic though I'd suggest larger bowls for those so the meat can marinade a bit more in all of that deliciousness!

We celebrated a birthday at Hacienda Real in Geneva and had an amazing time! The girls had so much fun, the drinks were great, and the best part was how they celebrated the birthday -- so thoughtful and festive. The food was delicious, everything was fresh and flavorful, and the staff made the experience extra special. Highly recommend for any celebration or just a fun night out! Beautiful pictures due to ambience. Some of my friends had earlier visited and had also recommended this place.

Overall the decor and atmosphere is so cool! You feel like you're transported to Cabo or Tulum when you're here! The chips and salsa are brought k the table and the service was overall good. We didn't order drinks due to dry January but we did get queso and entrees. The queso was a good size. We got the fajitas, chimichanga and vegan tacos. Wall items tasted good but the dishes did get cold very quickly. Overall, I think the food is good but more modern and reasonable for the type of restaurant.

First time here. The place itself is very nice. Nice place to go. The food was really good. My wife's fajitas were good not great. They tasted better the second day. The Ribeye however was on point. Very flavorful. The potatoes were decent. Rice decent. Beans just OK. But the star of the show was the guacamole. The toppings, the regular salsa, no big deal. But the pineapple salsa, and the watermelon salsa(seasonal), the hint of sweet, with guacamole it tasted refreshing. The waitress was nice and helpful. Definitely will go again.

As soon as we walked in we got seated immediately. The inside looked very nice it was very clean. The atmosphere is warm. we were greeted by our server Monica who brought us chips and salsa to begin. The chips and salsa were fresh. We decided on two Macho burritos one steak, one ground beef. When our plates are brought the portions were generous The food was nice and hot. And very tasty and delicious. The pops were very good in carbon. All in All I would recommend La Hacienda

Awful service! Too loud and the food tastes over cooked. The tables are too close and it took forever to get a drink.

I ordered the nachos with chicken and they were so filling and delicious that I didn't order an entree for dinner. My brother had the fajitas and he can be picky! He said they were delicious. The drink menu is generous. They offer some unique margaritas that are a bit pricey but worth it in my opinion. The blueberry lavender margarita tasted amazing - it was very sweet! We will definitely be back, especially with the location being conveniently located in downtown St. Charles!

That was on me, but still, the drink itself was solid. For my meal, I got the spicy shrimp appetizer, and we also shared guacamole and chips--probably the best guac I've had yet! The chips were light and airy, which I really appreciated. Our friends got the fish tacos with a side of rice and beans--also very fresh and flavorful. The tuna tacos were great too. Our waiter was really nice and had no issue splitting the checks for us. The inside is nicely decorated, and the wall of tequila adds a fun touch. The outdoor seating felt a bit cramped though--where we sat, it seemed like we were super close to other tables, and it was a little tight for the waitstaff to move around. Overall, a really good experience! They weren't kidding when they said spicy shrimp--it was definitely spicy, but in the best way. The breading and flavor were on point.

My boyfriend had a variety of tacos (fish, shrimp, and ribeye steak) but the fish taco was his favorite. There were only 2-3 young men working the front of the house and they were hustling. They spoke very loud and clear (a good thing!) and stayed busy taking orders, cleaning tables, and checking on guests. Job well done to those hard workers. Inside is a bit tight. When we visited, a part of the restaurant was closed off for a party so seating was limited to the few tables up front. However, there are some tables outside and you're super close to St Mary's Park so you could always get your order to-go and picnic at the park.

Don't waste your time on asking for salsa verde because it tastes like nothing. The queso fundido is good but gets dry and hard fast. It's not very cheesy and melty like others I've had. Don't waste your time on the guac either, it's just mashed avocado. It needs some seasoning or spice or lime at minimum. And the chicken fajita's are absolutely awful. It was so disappointing. They have a very sweet and almost bbq-like taste. Also, you really don't get much chicken even. It's mostly just onions and peppers. I had to spit them out. The rice is good though. I'd some back for drinks and chips & salsa but that would really be it. The server was good and attentive and the restaurant was decorated for Valentine's Day. It was cute. Salsas tasted straight up like tomatoes, no flavor whatsoever, asked waitress if they had a more spicy salsa and she had an attitude about it. Said she could give me green salsa but not their fault if the jalapeños were not spicy. I'm Mexican and no one would convince me that the rice was not from the day before. They brought a small bowl of chips and had three different types of salsa in plastic bottles (like the old style ketchup and mustard ones at diners) with three small dishes to put them in. Chips were thick, crispy, and salty. Not sure if they have free refills, as we finished our chips rather fast and they took the bowl away afterwards. I ordered the 22 oz strawberry margarita and it was probably one of the best margs I've had. Came with strawberry slices in the drink and a tajin rim. Great deal for $10. I ended up getting three tacos traditional style: Birria, steak, and chorizo. The birria one was really good, just wish the tortilla was dipped in juice like some of the other birria tacos I've had. It was my first time having chorizo, and I would order it again. The steak taco was good, but nothing special. Service was a little slow despite there only being one other table, but our table was talking anyway so it wasn't too much of an issue. Overall, would go back if I was in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way to go there.
