It seems as though so far, I'm the only one that hasn't had an amazing experience at Haché. The restaurant itself is very well put together in terms of decor & very welcoming, the staff were very friendly and polite, so no complaints there.
I love a good burger & on paper their menu looks great but it all fell short for me. The burger (Southern Belle) was cooked well and presentation was perfection but the downfall was that it all lacked flavour for me. Every ingredient should have complimented the other but with every bite I tasted nothingness, except for the brioche bun, which was the only saviour along with some ketchup and mustard that I had to add just to give the burger some taste. Oh & also the courgettes that came in the burger were good, I ate those separately as I didn't finish the burger.
The sweet potato fries, were cooked from frozen (Manager informed me of this) which is fine but to be honest they were just okay, by far not the best out there and unfortunately the beer battered onion rings was just more of the same...Plain. My friend dining with me also unfortunately had the same experience, so it wasn't just me. Considering all the other Haché restaurants seem to get good reviews as well as this one ...maybe I can chalk it up the chef having an off day but a little bit of seasoning goes a long way!
Not in any type of rush to hand over my £25 to them again! I've had way better elsewhere. read more
