Ok I would like to spend a few moments to respond to a review on here stating facts that are not…read moretrue. I have volunteered for this organization for the last 5 years and have had the pleasure of meeting some of the volunteers and board members. The fact that this person who left a review that was completely false! There is not 1 person who is a breeder associated with this organization! We bring these dogs into our personal homes with all their baggage and try to get them healthy and socialized with our own dogs. We do this because we care deeply for this breed of dog. We have owned this breed for years and know they are prone to have allergies to everything! Some dogs come into our homes with almost no hair, their ears and feet so swollen with yeast because of lack of care. It takes months to rehabilitate, re-socialize them into members of our families so we can find them their forever homes. Yes I've loved each and everydog that has come into our home and I work really hard at placing them into a home that is perfect for them! I would move into each home I've placed a dog into and felt very confident with their placements. I hear from almost everyone of the homes I've placed dogs into and have contact with the surrendering families if they want to know updates on their dogs I always will communicate with them. Until you can walk in a volunteer footprints to love unconditionally for months and then find them the absolutely best home placement for them than please say nothing! Everyone with Bulldoghavennw.org is a volunteer with their homes, family, time and love. Not one person is "hoarding" these dogs. Our end goal is to rehabilitate them and find them their forever homes. We don't get the perfect dogs into our rescue, we get the dogs who are needing extensive medical care and dogs who have not been socialize. We volunteers care so deeply for this breed that we give up our time, homes and families to help them. Please be respectful, just because you were not the right fit for one dog dosent mean you won't be a great fit for another dog. You may not get what you want, you get what you need. Fill out an application to foster, we have dogs waiting to get into our care. Be the solution

We adopted our boy Moo from them and they spoke with me prior to adoption for hours to make sure we were a good fit for the dog and visa versa. They are taking in dogs that are expensive to care for and have lots of health issues (it's the breed). Do your research before rescuing a bulldog they are amazing dogs but they do have a lot of special needs. They are couch potatoes but also have a lot of energy and are stubborn as a mule. But you will not find a better breed to be a Velcro dog. Bulldog Haven still checks in to see how he is settling over 6 months later. When we are ready for another bulldog we will be using them again. If you are not looking to add to your family please consider donating! They are doing thier best to help as many dog as possible and it's not cheap! Please be patient in the application process these things take time and they will get back to you! Highly recommend it's worth the wait!

An employee - older guy, little sketchy looking so we'll call him Sketch- come over to try and help, identified it as an older bill - I asked if I could exchange for some smaller bills to try - he said "sure you can go to the bank tomorrow and exchange it." Fair - they're not a bank though it could have been communicated more professionally than that. Then I said I would just go to the regular checkout and THAT'S when Sketch said if the machine rejected the bill they couldnt take it at the regular register either. I had NO other money - not on a card, no other bills - this was it. He took it to talk to the lady at the register, marked it with the color changing pen and then came back and said they couldn't take it. I asked why - I have worked around money, the mark PROVED the bill was REAL. I asked him: "Doesn't this mean this is real" (I already knew the answer was yes) and Sketch says: "I don't know and now that it's marked we can't take it." You don't KNOW but you work at a store that takes cash? You should know this, sir. And YOU'RE the one who marked it!! I also showed him the strip going through the bill and THAT wasnt even enough. "It's a strip," he says, "but not a metal one." How the F do you KNOW that when you don't even know the color the marker is supposed to turn! So asked what my options are - he takes my items, tosses them in the cart haphazardly and tells me: "you can come back tomorrow when you have real money and pay for them." I HAD REAL MONEY!! It was MARKED - the strip was inside the bill and the holographic face was on it!! How much more real could it be?! So I ask: "Well what if I come in tomorrow morning and pay for it with the same bill?" Like how would they know? Sketch says: "So you're saying you're going to come back and use this same bill tomorrow?" I told him: "That is NOW what I said" (Don't put words in my mouth, sir!) "I asked IF - how will the morning crew know?" "Oh they won't take a marked bill and I'm gonna tell them." So I finally said: "Fine! Go ahead and save them and I'll be back tomorrow morning." My sister overheard and comes over, I explain what's going on - my sister paid for my purchases with a card (Thanks sis!) which I repayed with the bill. Here's the thing about that $50 bill - I got it this morning from a CURRENCY EXCHANGE after exchanging some Euros and the bank ATM my sister deposited it in right afterwards took it no problem. If it wasnt real, the bank ATM certainly would have rejected it. My sister also worked with money and said yes that mark color meant it was authentic. IT WAS REAL AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN HARASSED ABOUT IT!! My sister also said that Sketch seemed to be following us around the store and we had my niece with us. This may have also been discriminatory as he likely thought we were a lesbian couple with a kid and Value Village claims to be "Christian". Must've missed that "love thy neighbor" verse. I will NEVER be back to this Value Village and I will be getting in touch with their higher ups so they can be aware that their Marysville location won't take legal tender after its been PROVEN TO BE REAL and may be discriminatory against gay people even when they might not be gay

Located a few…read moreblocks from the center of Oak Harbor, it's worth the slight detour to check out their wealth of treasures, all of which are well-marked, well-presented, and well-priced. They have everything from vintage knick knacks to toys to books to small furniture. And clothes, TONS of clothes, all organized by size, style, season...you name it. They also have a large selection of household items, like dishes, bedding, towels, and small appliances. One thing I really appreciate is that they have dressing rooms so you can try things on! Some larger thrift stores have done completely away with this option, and while I understand why, I appreciate the ones who still have them. The line can get a little long at the counter, so keep that in mind if you're there on a busy day. But if you want a great thrifting experience, and to support a lovely small town business, definitely give Island Thrift a try!

She looked very visibly angry when saying this. I apologized and told her that I genuinely thought this was one of the racks on display in the store and backed off it. I hadn't been here before so I didn't know the layout of the store. She didn't say anything to me after that and hurried off away? I tried to go through the rest of the store but, after that the vibe was just off and I had to leave. Not sure if I will come back. At least not for awhile. Overall the store is very organized and clean. The clothing selection isn't the most stylish but, they can't help want gets donated to them. Would have liked it more if my visit had been better.

Today my daughter and I went to donate clothing to Value Village and a full sized boxed truck from Treasures in Heaven was in line in front of us. Once they pulled up to the unloading area it and started to unload in became apparent this was a loaded full box truck, unloading for well over 30 minutes while cars piled up in line and the driver and passenger did very little to assist in the unloading process while the entire VV team worked their butts off. I doubt the fact people are donating to this Christian organization and simply having it turned over to Value Village is what people donating are hoping for. This is also incredibly rude behavior on behalf of Treasures as the line is nearly out of the parking lot, people are abandoning the line foregoing donating. Many of the boxes are taped shut so the VV workers have to open them prior to accepting them slowing the process further. Treasures is dumping their unwanted inventory at the Issaquah Value Village, holding up the line, hogging up the employees and inconveniencing dozens of people simply trying to do a nice thing. I'm writing this review because I find this behavior extremely unbecoming of Treasures and likely deceptive to those donating there, furthermore it is inconsiderate on multiple levels.
