Sitting here in the parking lot and feeling obligated to sit in this blazing toasty Prius to write this because unlike the +130 reviews I currently have in draft mode, I feel I gotta get this out. I'm here in Monroe because of an offer up deal I was doing at the nearby Lowe's so I'm about almost an hour out of my ways due to traffic, and out of a completely spontaneous decision I went into the nearby goodwill. I don't frequent most places, but I have been to probably an unhealthy amount of goodwills. Idk why but even if I don't have time I usually make time if I see one I haven't gone to because it's such a random occurrence of events to find a dope find. Tbh in the last 5 years I've grown to usually take about 10 minutes tops to get in and out due to the mediocrity that is so casual for goodwill but I'm here to say that I want to go on record confidently stating this is the best goodwill I've ever been to. No, it's not doing something out of the scope of goodwills agenda, but everything you expect from a goodwill they are doing in an ideal way. The team here is just putting out such a variety of items and EVERYTHING is in sellable condition. Holy moly it's organized. I've seen organized goodwills but it's not common, and it's unheard of to see the combo of variety and organization. Tbh I was forcing myself out after finding like 3 amazing things because of my budget, so I didn't have any interaction with the staff or anything, but who cares. The store itself shows these people are talented and care about what they do. This review will amount to nothing, but this should be said. Thank you Monroe Goodwill and keep flippin thriving! NOT A PAID REVIEW!!!!!!!!! It looks like Goodwill finally got the hint. THANK GOD All of the clothes were priced way lower than I have seen in a long time. They have returned to the definition of thrift. I found a sweater there for 1.99!!! I'll definitely be back while the prices are reasonable. Thank you Goodwill for making your items more affordable again. My family had more fun during this trip and left with more items than I was willing to buy previously. The store was clean and the staff were great! Just hoping it stays like this and it's not all a façade for the time being. I don't know if someone new is running this store now or what but I've been going here since they opened this location and I use to love it. These days though, it's just disappointing. They have a few very nice and helpful employees in the front, but other then those few, the rest have been vulgar, rude, and anything but what I would expect to see at an establishment that has been around for as long as it has. There is one woman that is actually a manager of some sorts, that cusses and talks loud about customers and what she thinks of them, none of it polite mind you. The hours have changed significantly as well. Opening at 10am now and closing up at 8pm. The old hours of 9am-9pm that were in effect for so long are sorely missed. The set of of the entire store has also changed. It now looks and feels so unorganized that I myself have just stopped shopping for clothing there. Someone should really get in there that knows what they are doing and get this store back on track. I can't imagine that it's making any new revenue like it is now. I'd bet they are loosing out on sales more and more each day with the current management that's in place. *On a side note, I was a regular shopper for many years. Going in there at least 3-5 times a week due to my community outreach program. I used to walk in and there were shelves of vintage and interesting items right in front. Now its cheap made in China garbage, worse than the dollar store. It looks awful. Why does corporate think people want to buy new stuff that is toxic and probably made with slave labor, that is paid for with money made FROM OUR DONATIONS! It's ridiculous how expensive stuff is now, how understaffed the store is, and now some fool decided that the shelves of good stuff should be replaced by plastic crap. Please return the decent items to the front. Nobody wants poorer quality than the Dollar Tree new items. read more

I just came across this Goodwill recently and now I drive out of my way for it. I always find several great items for my home and usually a cute shirt or two. As Goodwill go, the prices are on par, but if you're a re-seller you may find them a bit too high. However, for the average person who isn't out to make a profit on their purchase, prices are reasonable. I'm in love with their kitchen isle, I've found Noritake, Le Crueset, Spode and many other great brands in perfect shape. As always you have to inspect things before purchase, but for the most part I'm finding great bargains. The store is clean and well merchandised, staff seems professional and the location is easily accessible. read more

I was in the area and stopped in to check the aisles. All of the items were really inflated in pricing and there wasn't anything I could find to justify a purchase. I did come across some cool Barbie vintage but it all needed a deep cleaning and I just wouldn't want to put in the sweat equity. read more

This place is so much fun! It's a huge Goodwill and they have tons of inventory. I spent a long time here finding many treasures in the form of summer and work tops as well as three dresses, including one that I wore to a wedding. The prices are wonderful and such a steal. I'm so happy that I paid only $14 for a dress instead of $60 and up at another retailer. I found two items that were still brand new with the tags on them. This is my new happy place, and will be a great resource whenever a need a clothing fix! Also, I've been in a lot of secondhand stores and this one did not have any of that typical odor to it. Typical Goodwill store, but seems to always have a line for donations. Only one around. so they get most of the area business. St. Vincent de Paul in town is another good source for used treasures. Grab that find while you can, things go fast! read more

Do not come here to donate. Most goodwills will take pretty much anything, but this one has turned a table away because it had a glass top and could "hurt" them if it broke. They also turned away a bench I had actually bought from their store because it had 1 dog hair on it and they said their employees are allergic to dogs... like you're joking! Most people own dogs and their stuff will have it on it. So ridiculous!!! Isn't giving to goodwill supposed to be charity?? read more

The Monroe Goodwill has been our go-to for thrifting for as long as it's been open. We've clothed ourselves and our kids and furnished our home with our purchases. Tonight they became my heroes. In the frenzy of packing to move across the country, my heirloom blankets were accidentally donated. We were devastated. We ran back to the store close to closing time and explained the problem. The manager and workers went above and beyond to help me find my blankets. They dug through two huge bins and found them at the bottom of the second one. I am beyond grateful. read more

The customer service is excellent, and always new and interesting things stocked. We love looking at their vintage items also.

We have been moving homes and donating lots and lots of different things, from exercise equipment, to old vases, and picture frames. They have been gracious and efficient, helping us unload every time - rain or shine. We've called them to check on hours and such and each time they have been very sweet and courteous. read more

Tiny store, limited selection, but probably big enough for this community. Found a couple gems that made my stop worth the sidetrack. BUYER BEWARE - if you plan on getting a refund for a return, know that you cannot, store credit only. They didn't tell me during my latest trip and customers should be aware. Normally I wouldn't return from Goodwill, in fact I never have. I recently purchased a nice looking band saw for $55 and thought I would roll the dice on it working, so I confirmed with the cashier, "if this doesn't work I can bring it back, right?". "yes, you have 7 days". No mention of store credit only. Of course, it didn't work, so back it went. Turns out the disclosure for store credit is only on the receipt. Now think about that, the sale is already complete at that time and you have no further recourse. Thought you all should know before you buy thinking you can return for your money back. I pleaded my case, but to no avail, no accommodation. Now I have store credit for a store I'm not returning to. Definitely lost my biz. read more

First the good. This location and parking is great. It has its own parking lot and there are ample spaces. Fashion focus is right up front which I really like checking out first. Tons of inventory and overall a clean store The not so good. Prices are all over the place. A pair of leggings, the same brand and style that I bought in Bellevue for $2.99 were $5.99 at this store. I find overall the prices here to be higher. The store it's self is pretty small compared to other area locations so it feels very cramped and cluttered. No kids fashion focus rack which is always a favorite for me. read more

I've been going here since 2005, & I've always "liked it",but never really connected with the employees, until the last year or so.You have a Lady that usually works the jewelry counter.Her name is Michelle, & she really knows her stuff.Shes been very personable, f Egg friendly & fun to see whenever I go there.Shes done a Fantastic job or color coordinating the jewelry, so I can go straight to whatever outfit I'm shopping for,& has shown me items I might never have noticed on my own.I just am soo grateful shes still there during this Covid 19, I appreciate seeing a familiar & friendly face,who seems genuinely glad to see & Welcome her shoppers back each time.I feel blessed having her wait on me.Thank You Goodwill! read more

This Goodwill is decent, clean, and organized. The staff did a good job when I was there. However, the parking lot and building itself is very small compared to most Goodwills. This goodwill reminded me of a slightly bigger University Way, Seattle, Goodwill. At this Monroe location, I got a lot of dirty looks from customers (not staff) on a Saturday (busy day) because it's difficult to go through all of the tight isles. Not so much in clothing isles but in housewares mostly. It's also even more difficult when people ignore me when I'm trying to get around them... trapped in Goodwill lol even if i kindly say "excuse me" "can i get by ya?" "right behind ya." I was in line to purchase some items at Goodwill. There was an elderly gentleman in front of me trying to purchase a flashlight. The checker had to go get the manager for some reason. The manager came out and accused the old guy of switching price tags and asked him to leave the store; told him if he ever came back she would call the police. The elderly guy was really confused and didnt understand what was going on. So, I told her I wanted to buy the flashlight and she wouldn't sell it to me. I had a few words with the manager. Our aging citizens live on fixed incomes, experience cognitive decline, and many other things that could have played a part. The man was trying to pay for the item and gets accused of wrongdoing and threatened with the police?? Over a $3 flashlight? Shame on you Goodwill! The store manager needs a vocabulary refresher into the definition of "goodwill" and maybe to review the company's mission statement. Won't ever patronize this store again! read more

I am a thrift shop Queen. I know my junk. I used to love GW, and now.. meh. way overpriced. and the people suck. OK, only some do. some are very nice. I'll pick up a glass whatever and think, oh, I like this. then, look at the price and PUT IT BACK. gee wiz, it's a THRIFT SHOP, not Nordstrom's or Crate N Barrel. $7.99 to $24.99 on a glass poo-paw?? and clothes, way too high. if you'd price cheap, you'd get a much bigger turnover of items and not send it all to the dump when the color tag runs it's course. I had a couple kids that worked there that I always said "HI" to, very sweet, made it pleasant to go in. they both got better jobs so now there is no one I care to say "hello, how ya doing?" to. and the new assistant manager is a BITCH. sorry, but, gee wiz. get some people skills. read more

I pop into this thrift store time to time, for years now. The location is excellent, the store is pretty clean, so I gave two stars. But the PRICES! Sometimes I can't believe my eyes, how they want to sell an out of shape, faded sweater for $7.99, when you can buy brand new from Walmart for the same, or even less, not far away. And recently, I was looking to buy a latte maker for my camper, what I don't use a lot. They had one, for $10.99. But guess what. Most part were missing, so you can't even use it. This store is blindly robbing people, those people, who are already very poor. Shame on them. I used to go to St Vincent De Paul, until they moved way out of my way(and most people's), because at least their prices were more reasonable. But the truth is, now even they raised their prices and what I noticed, they move their finer items to other location. read more

Heading East on Highway 2, this Goodwill location is worth a visit. It's very clean, organized and the people are friendly. This is a mid-sized Goodwill but appears new and fresh and the prices seem better than most Goodwill locations I've visited. This location should be the standard for Goodwill but unfortunately isn't (read my other reviews). The prices were high enough to make a "reasonable" profit but low enough to ensure good turn-around and from the look of it, new items were continually being stocked. I didn't see a lot of "junk" and broken items cluttering up the shelves. Were I more local, this would be added to my circuit. If Goodwill would just stop selling new items, it would be golden. The 5* reviews on here must be coming from corporate or employees trying to hide truth, this place is a mess, if I could of given less than 1* I would of !!! Retail needs to get their act together! Hell in a donated hand-basket ! I normally shop other GW's, but was in town for a meeting, so I went over to check it out. Management is clueless or lazy, not sure which ! Not a whole lot of pep in retailers step either! everything and everyone in retail seemed tired and bitter. I would like to give this store more stars however my favorite employee (Irene V) from this location is no loner able to assist me on my shopping because she was moved to a different position. She was always friendly and very helpful now all does is clean which I'm not going to complain the store looks great, clean and neat. Yay... Monroe is stepping up, and away from the White Trash Hick'ville reputation! We went and got us a brand new clothing store people. We gets us a Goodwill! Okay, so I know it's not impressive....And I feel the need to wear a disguise when entering the store....And I'm nervous about buying a piece of clothing my neighbor might have just donated the day before... but I am happy to save money where I can. If you have the patience to search for quality brands, in like new condition... you can save a bundle. Especially on Mondays, when certain colored tags are marked down to $1.50. (Or something close to that.) Be careful though... Almost everything has stains, so look close before you buy... AND WASH THEM BEFORE YOU WEAR THEM!! read more

I have been here many times now and every large item they turn it away. It is a waste of time even going here to donate anything anymore. Stopped in to look at swimsuits on Blue tag 50% off day. My hats off to the dressing room attendant who allowed me to bring my basket into the handicap room, and also for being patient with my 3 trips to the dressing room! Most of the clothes are over-priced, but the home decor is priced well and so is the kitchen stuff. I personally wouldn't buy electronics here, but I have perused the artwork and have found some treasures in the past. I ended up with no swimsuit but 2 summery dresses, 2 tops, 1 shorts, and 1 capri pants. $30 later, I was happy with some gently used name-brand clothes. read more
