We worked out the details with them ahead of time to get the right dates and times that would work for us on changing our room from a shingle roof to a metal roof Jerry did all the preparatory worked and came and saw our house and came up with a contractual agreement showing us all the things that we would need. He also worked with us on the snow guards as we live in the mountains. He also helped us with a gutter system. It was designed in Sweden to handle large volumes of water and melting snow. We lived out of town at a second home and he would send me photographs and call and text me and give me updates. He would also ask me questions if there were decisions that need to be made on the go, Jeff was unbelievable and stay in constant contact with me to make sure that the job was done correctly as well as my wife and I liking. When we were visit the house, they would make absolutely sure that we could access the house and kept their equipment and trucks and positions. It would allow us to get in and out when we had to come and go. They were extremely considerate about their workspace and their tools in terms of us entering and exiting the house. They would also pay extra attention to detail such as keeping the property clean from the debris, cleaning up each day and removing all the extraneous materials from the ground and property for safety issues as well as for cleanliness The craftsmanship of our very complicated roof, which had at least five or seven different sections required a lot of on the go, mechanical decision-making on how to design the roof and put it together. Jeb was an expert in that area and made every effort to make the job look fantastic as well as to make it functional. At the very end of the job, Jeb made sure that the water would not affect our mulch or flowerbeds or other parts of the house, but also helping us design exits for water to move it away from the house Jerry, who is the owner was always available to help with changes that needed to be made or other issues. He kept me informed as well as Jeb of the progress. After the project was done, we reviewed everything in detail and my wife and I were very satisfied. The roof was absolutely beautiful. The gutter system was amazing and the entire installation went well with very little issues. The experience was marked by poor communication, lack of oversight, and careless treatment of our belongings. Key problems included delayed and inadequate packing of personal items, damage to property during cleaning and restoration, subpar repairs (such as the minwaxing of countertops and sloppy painting), and unsanitary conditions left by workers (urinating all over and around the toilets). Carpet installation by Sherwin Williams took three repeat visits to correct the initial unprofessional installation. We had to often intervene to document losses and secure appropriate reimbursement from insurance, ultimately recovering significantly more than originally proposed by Rainbow. Despite some helpful individuals (notably the 1800 Pack Out crew and certain staff like Cody), the overall experience with Rainbow Restoration was unsatisfactory. While many of our issues were ultimately corrected under the direction and persistance of Cody, most of them could have been avoided with better communication and oversight. We recommend stronger oversight, professional cleaning services, and better communication with clients in such situations. By the end we felt more like an insurance claim rather than the home owner and customer. Not recommended for whole house clean up and restoration. They left antique Funiture on the wet floor along with a large set of large stereo speakers they never even moved. a set of $900.00 family heirloom lamps also left in standing water. Their modo is "Like it never happened." Haha what a bunch of B/S that is.. When I called the owner to complain I was told I needed to understand that the two men were tired because it was the middle of the night so they might not have been thinking clearly? The men left about 6:30 am and I had to call them back because they never touched my computer room and the carpet was soaking wet along with standing water, what did they do you ask? Communication was poor from the start. After the drying process, we waited weeks with little to no updates. When Gani finally visited, he seemed unfamiliar with the project and focused mainly on upselling upgrades because insurance was paying, even suggesting LVP flooring despite our home having hardwood. Once repairs began, communication continued to be difficult. We had to repeatedly request updates, which were often ignored or met with frustration. While we were staying in an Airbnb, we were suddenly given one hour to choose between two floor stain options--neither matching our original floors--and had received no prior notice that a decision was needed that day. When I called to ask about additional options or samples, Gani became irate and dismissive. Eventually, the subcontracted flooring company provided several proper stain samples, which resolved the issue. Throughout the project, the work felt rushed and we had to repeatedly point out problems that needed fixing. The project also ran later than promised. When we finally moved back into our home, we discovered several issues: one of our lamps had been broken, paint was on our Dyson vacuum, and one of the bathrooms had been left in extremely unsanitary condition. When we raised this with Gani, he told us he would submit another claim to our insurance company so we could receive a check to cover the damaged items, rather than his company reimbursing us directly. Overall, this was one of the worst contractor experiences we've had. We figured out that our county's website has a record of all of the permitted work done in the county in the last 3.5 months, and you can sort by project. It also lists the sq footage of the project and the cost. We could see that Kefficient had done the most permitted projects in our county and they had a fair and competitive price compared to other companies who got their work permitted. We ended up deciding to work with Kefficient. What a world of difference! They quickly got a permit and did the work and had it inspected and it looks great. What a relief after such a poor experience with a different company!
