Tickets were purchased online a month before in case they sold out! Lines to get in can be long! Thankful for those offering water in this heat! I love both men and women and always believed love is love! My grandpas are gay and one of them is unfortunately passing and I wanted to also go in honor of him! There was a protester in line with a big sign, yelling at people and I stood up to him! Not ok to judge others and actually sir God loves all people! Our toddler and I enjoyed dancing to the music, but some songs were not age appropriate. Volunteers of Sac Pride were so sweet, bubbly and complimentary, my husband donated $5 and they did a cheerleading trick! If you donate $10 they'll also give you a button! ~Purchases~ One of the churches were advertising these cooling neck scarves and we were so hot we said we'll take 3! Our toddler felt so much better that she got a little more pep in her step! Such sweet ladies, fun designs and only $4-$5 each! At another booth I spied Disney crock charms and remembered my husband was in need of some and they were just $3 each! He picked out Disney couples, how cute is he? He treated us to lunch and unfortunately the Vietnamese food truck didn't have the best banh mi, but I will say the egg roll and lychee lemonade is fantastic!! I loved how sweet the vendors were offering free sunglasses, sunscreen, fake tattoos, glitter showers and spin the wheels! My hubby loved his sunnies and our toddler got a sensory sticker! Even the Sacramento Children's Museum had a tent with sensory bins that included ice and toys and more! My toddler also loved the paint dot pens and stamps! They also gave us rainbow leis! Be aware no outside food or drink allowed, you may bring empty reusable bottles and use water refilling station! I'd suggest an insulated one so it stays cool! Not all vendors were cashless despite the website. Wear sunscreen, bring fans, misters etc to beat the heat! I'd love to attend the parade next time if our schedule allows! 4/5 star experience! Yeah it's aight. Like others have said, it is spotty. One block you'll find multi-million dollar…read moreestates and then go a few blocks and you'll find homeless people and garbage lying around. Some of the highlights: * Arden Fair Mall - now that there is Uniqlo and H&M * How 'Bout Arden - lots of stores, great movie theatre. Nordstrom Rack! Kura Sushi! * Ernie's Interlude - welcoming dive bar; meet your neighbors, sing some songs! * Trader Joe's - this parking lot isn't so exasperating * Whole Foods - Great Amazon return setup * WinCo Foods - Show me a better bulk foods area * Grocery Outlet - I have a collection of shoplifting videos from this location at Marconi. The best one was when a group had a loaded shopping cart of Tide and there was a getaway van with a covered license plate that squealed them away. * Costco Business Center - it's like old school Costco (Price Club) with the huge boxes of bulk chewing gum. Get yo'self half a goat while you're at it. * Country Club Cinema - comfy reclining seats, $5 Tuesdays. Close to midtown, close to Business and Highway 80, not far from 50, it's a very convenient place to live. I hear the sheriff helicopter circling overhead maybe four times a year? I don't know if that's good or bad. It would be bad if I lived in Canada, but for Arden Arcade that's probably par for the course.

Most of the time when I'm visiting the Arden-Arcade area it's for food and there are a lot of great places to try out. At Howe 'Bout Arden I'm a frequent visitor of 18 grams Coffee Roasters and there are a lot of other restaurant and shopping options in that plaza, along with a movie theater. There is also both Ettore's Bakery and Restaurant and Estelle Bakery and Patisserie in the area and walking into either is dangerous, because the baked goods are AMAZING! Taqueria La Perla Tapatia is also in this area and their food is so tasty. You can go for something classic or simple or try one of their unique creations that your tastebuds and camera will love. Do a quick Yelp search and you're bound to find some new places you want to visit, and I feel like new places are being introduced all the time. I will say, this area is not my favorite to drive in. Sometimes the roads are a bit confusing and some areas need could use some updates. I feel like I always need my GPS here compared to Downtown where it's a grid. if you grow up here I'm sure it's a lot easier to navigate though.

Carmichael was where I called home for about 4 years and really loved living here it's a pretty quite town for the most part. There Carmichael Park which has a nice sized dog park and nice sized tennis courts and every Sunday where you can enjoy the Farmers Market. There are also small neighborhood park like Jan Dr Park, Gibbons park and Maddox Park. There and nice shopping centers and nice family owned Restaurants around and one of my favorite coffee shops Boulevard Coffee and now they have a Dutch Bros! There also the La Sierra community center for activities and many classes for Adults as well as for the kiddos too! They also do the 4th of July Fireworks show nearby as well. Most people just watch from the Big Lots Parking lot located on Fair Oaks Blvd and Engle Rd. There are plenty of schools like: Carmichael Elementary Cameron ranch Elementary Mary A Deterding Elementary Coyle Ave Elementary Starr King Elementary Mission Elementary Winston Churchill Middle School John Barrett Middle School Roy Rogers middle School Del campo High school located in Fair Oaks. Pot holes and uneven pavement is an occurring theme passing through CH ! Instead of increasing road safety they went the opposite direction and increase road speed in some areas ! She needs to focus on the roads and not prioritize the trails first when the roads are in emergency needs !!!

But I have to say that after we left iFly and were heading for an after-party at the Almond Tree Lounge (Almond), the LAST thing I expected to be doing was Line-Dancing! THE SETUP In fact, it's a little misleading to be calling this a "lounge" if you are looking for a QUIET, chill place to relax, and regroup, and catch up with friends (without having to YELL). Well, be-that-as-it-may, the Almond was a wild-ass fun time, even if it exploded into my face like a GIANT FRIENDLY FART! (You know what I'm saying?) ;) Mad Props to uber-Yelper John H. for organizing this fest-of-fun and making it so convenient for us to hit after the iFly Yelp Elite Event (YEE)! DANCING! First off, when you enter the Almond, you are walking RIGHT PAST the band and then the dance floor, so it's impossible to be discreet about your entrance: all-eyes-on-YOU! But the dance floor is big and smooth (no potholes) and fun to dance on! I even got to uber-Elite Lucy out there for some Country-Western Swing and we had a great time. THE DRINKS! OH my GAWD! Sometimes you have to order a specific drink (like when I'm in Spokane, or Bishop, or Coeur d'Alene ) that is calle the "mind-eraser" to make sure it's packing a wallop! NOPE. Not here! I simply ordered a standard Jack & Coke, and that puppy was able to put me on my ass (I THINK the coke was added merely to get a BIT of coloring in the glass!) And the Alex L. and Maria & Scott were getting shots for peeps! Crazy pineapple thingies and jager shots - the mind WAS erasing away...... (Seriously, I was glad I was not driving). THE FOOD Nothing really to write home about. Our table got 2 pizzas - a cheese and a pepperoni. *munch munch munch* And as we were munching, I said to Alex L., "tastes like Red Baron." *munch munch munch* Alex looked far off, and then came back, "Digiorno?" We laughed. Point was made. But honestly, in the end when going for drinks late at night, the food is inconsequential. Attended the Fair Oaks Fiesta Days also know as Spring Fest. It is located in the Fair Oaks…read moreVillage. This is such a great event. This year they had a wonderful car show, plant sell, clothing and jewelry vendors, kid fun area, food trucks and also the wonderful restaurant, shops and bars in Fair Oaks Village. This is a awesome event for everyone, but I missed all the live music in previous years. I only heard one band play for a short moment...Remember music brings everyone together. I hope next year they bring back the main stage and the far end of the street.... back with some great local bands.

The Fair Oaks Spring Fest - or Fair Oaks Fiesta as the natives call it - has been a yearly May…read moretradition in old-town Fair Oaks since at least the 60's. My mom has a picture of me from 1971 or so marching as a cub-scout in the parade. Back then it was your standard local parade and carnival ride affair - but in the past couple decades it has morphed into a combined 5 mile/5k Sun Run, kiddie carnival, food fair, toilet bowl race, street car show, things like celebrity look-a-like contests and bicycle air-shows, and a frog jumping contest. The toilet bowl race is hysterical and pretty out-of-control. You can bring your own frog or use one of their's in the frog jumping contest. The kiddie rides have a nice selection of home-spun and carnival type stuff - pretty good bang for the buck. The footrace is large and well organized - with plenty of swag for the runners. There is something for everyone in this family-oriented local festival. Check the Fair Oaks Chamber of Commerce Calendar when next May rolls around.

It's okay though, since your driving so slow in traffic you can see everything. This drive is worth it. People do walk but usually it's to cold out for us to do that.
