Tried to post this before, not sure it went through. The men who run this business are very nice and accommodating but unfortunately I had some experiences I wanted to bring up to potential future customers so they avoid the problems I had. There are some hidden charges they may or may not charge you. I was made aware of an extra "bleach" charge and was asked if I wanted that charge. It was only a few dollars. However, there is a "spot-check" charge that you apparently need to tell them (without knowing they will charge it to you) that you don't want (unless you do). It adds like $8 to the total. When I called to inquire about it I was told that information was on the website. Several visits to all the boilerplate/terms and conditions areas of the website yielded no such information, at least that I was able to find. In addition, the claim on the website of "next day service" is only true if you get them the laundry by 2 pm. Once again, I naively assumed that as long as the laundry was picked up by the end of business hours on one business day that it would be done the next day. If you have them pick up anytime after 2 pm it is actually a 48 hour turnaround. I was told this information was on the website as well but several searches yielded nothing. Lastly, and I know this is a danger of anytime you trust someone else to do your laundry, but the one item that was irreplaceable (a cotton lamp cover that had never been washed before) was destroyed-shredded. I know it wasn't the fabric as the other lamp cover came out fine, only the one was destroyed. When I called to complain they noted the best they could do was give me a $5 credit towards a future order. As this item is one of a kind, I will have to actually buy a new lamp to get this replaced, which will be significantly more than $5. As I said, I know accidents happened but given the nature of this situation I had hoped for a more mutually agreeable solution. As I said, they are very nice. A while ago I wrote a more positive review, so I'll leave that down below, but here's my update after using them for a couple of months. (May 2017) Generally, I'd send out my laundry to this service about once every 3 weeks or so. I'd give a few days notice for pick-up, have it collected in the morning, and then the next day, I'd have to text and ask when it would be coming, and it would come somewhere in the vicinity of 6pm-9pm. Once, a my flannel fitted sheet came back with some stains, so I hoped that this would not happen again, and I've sent it off again in the hopes of the stains gradually fading. Another time, a long white singlet top came back with what looks like detergent/bleach stains, to the point where it is unwearable, and I have kept it only in case I need a 'trash' piece of clothing when doing housework. A while later, the owner started texting me to ask if various items were mine, so clearly they were getting a bit lost in the piles of clothing and not properly sorting things. The first time that happened, all went fine and I got all of my belongings back. The second time, not so much. The final straw for me came when I sent it off, and unlike usual when I'd probably wait a bit of time before bothering to unpack, I decided to get started quickly. Having made specific mention of some new items I'd hesitated to send off due to their colors, I suddenly couldn't find those items in my bags. When I had searched through everything, I contacted the owner who first did not respond, and then made me wait 2+ hours until he could come back and had me go through other customer's bags to find my belongings. Thankfully, most items were found. A couple of days later I realized that a blanket I had sent off, and needed for an upcoming trip, had not returned, and again contacted the service. Again, it was a challenge to hear back from them and they finally expressed that it had been sent to someone else, and that they'd need to wait until they could collect it from that customer, before they could return it to me. Of course, at about $55+ per time, I expect a bit better service. After this debacle, and the endless stress this has caused, along with the refusal to assist me with reimbursements or even sincere apologies (I have a text expressing that they 'won't be so nice to me next time'), I can say that I'm pretty sure I'm done with this, and I'll either take my belongings to the local laundromat, or do it myself and save myself the stress. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I do like this service. I find the pick-up and drop-off times to be a little off sometimes, and when I reach out to them in a hurry they're not always very helpful, but they do a pretty good job at ensuring my clothes and linens are clean. I don't send off delicates so I can't speak for that, but the cost is on the higher end of things for the 'basic service', but tends to be reliable and I'm happy to pay the additional cost for that. I don't really understand the membership cost, or the extremely high cost of having things returned the same day, however I've also learnt that if they have done your laundry and want to return it earlier, they'll contact you and ask if you want to pay some more for early delivery, and if you decline they'll likely still bring it early anyway if you're available, so that's an amusing win there. After all, I don't have the money to pay an excess $15+ to have it returned on the same day, as much as I prefer that to be the case. I appreciate the texting situation, definitely a plus in my book, however a little more reliability sometimes in terms of responding would be great too. read more

Hands down, this is the best laundry service I've ever used. Deccu is professional, friendly, and efficient. My laundry always comes back on time, smelling great and perfectly folded! I found H1LS on Yelp and decided to try them after I saw all the rave reviews. H1 totally delivers. This service was excellent! They were on time for pickup and drop off and had no problem walking up to my 5th floor apartment for my 42lbs of laundry. Arthur was very nice, accommodating, and answered all of my questions about the service. When I got my laundry back it was folded so neatly, I didnt even want to touch anything. I paid about $42 for the service with tip. I will never do my own laundry again (well, until I get an apt. with a washer and dryer in the unit). read more

I have never minded doing my own laundry, but the machines in my building are terrible-- so I found H1LS. Their delivery guys are great; I get text messages telling me they're on their way, they're always friendly, and they love my (big and occasionally mischievous) dog. My laundry comes back clean and beautifully folded the next day. Their prices are competitive, too-- I usually have my laundry picked up every 3 weeks, and it costs no more than it would to shlep my laundry myself to the cleaners and back, and with around 35 pounds of laundry? No thank you! I gladly pay H1LS for their services. While I encountered something similar to the review below (a charge I didn't expect), the issue was resolved very quickly and without any "sales-y" pressure. Several months back we had some minor issues with timing and delivery issues (sometimes they would be a bit late), but everything has been running very smoothly recently, so I think all the kinks are worked out. This is a growing small business that appreciates feedback and its customers. We're moving out of state and can't use them anymore, but if you're in Harlem and you need your laundry done quickly and well, I highly recommend H1LS! read more

Seku is amazinnnggggggg. I fly a lot for work and am super last minute with my laundry and he's ALWAYS been able to turnaround my clothes when I needed them. Unlike other services I used, I never find random panties or bras in my pile of laundered clothes. Not to mention, I have never had my clothes stained with pink/blue, ripped, or shrunken. H1LS was so clutch for me - I had a horrible experience with another company, and H1LS promised to be hassle-free. They truly were! They were super professional from start to finish. Gave me text updates on their pickup and delivery ETA, weighed my clothes right at the door (LOVE THAT!!!) and easily accepted my CC payment on delivery. Price-wise, it's tough to beat my old company in Brooklyn, but H1LS is reasonable. (Best price with the membership program.) I had so much trouble finding a great service that services East Harlem, and I'm thrilled to have found this company -- I hope to use them consistently! read more

Great guys. They will pick up & drop off your stuff and do all the stairs for you if you live in a walk up. They're available by text and late night in case you want your clothes now instead of business hours the next day. Clothes always come by clean and neatly folded. Garbage bags were weird at first but I was quite thankful for them during rain, snow, and that one time my dog peed on my laundry bad. The garbage bags kept everything clean and dry. Only problem is pricing is super high. Although they have worked with me on payment plans! I haven't done my own laundry in a year since I moved to a walk up, these guys have been a life saver! read more

Have used this laundry service for years and it has been all in all excellent service. Curious to know if the company has been sold in the past few months as the service is decidedly less than what it was before: pick up and drop off service is now unreliable, laundry cleaning itself appears less than it was before, but perhaps that's because the folding service isn't what it was either - so the clothes come back looking dingy. This service is of high quality and has been such a convenience in my every day life. Doing laundry is and still is one of my favorite chores, but after using this service, I have gotten completely lazy! LOL. Overall, this service is affordable, timely, and the folding is exceptional. I was excited to discover a laundry service in my area that both picked up and delivered my clothes straight to my door since I'm in a 5th floor walkup. Also I'm not a fan of using regular detergents with chemicals and a lot of my garments cannot be put in the dryer and need to air dry. So It was important for me to find someone that would be willing to use the detergent I provided and be mindful of the garment care. So far I have used the service twice. On the plus side, when I first called the company to ask about pricing, washing, etc- although they didn't pick up right away and I was required to leave a message, they did call back promptly and were very friendly over the phone. The guy that picked up my clothes also was very friendly and personable and asked for feedback after my first experience which I thought was considerate. However I give it three stars for a few reasons... 1. The first time I gave my laundry to wash I left specific instructions to NOT put my jeans and certain items in the dryer. Unfortunately, my jeans were put in the dryer. The few shirts were not however they failed to air dry the items completely before returning to me so the items were still damp upon receiving. The second time I gave them my laundry, upon returning I discovered a handful of shirts had shrunken. One of which I had only recently purchased. Puzzled I looked at the tag of each and both should not have been put in the dryer and/or at least not on high heat. So I wish the service would have checked the tags for that. However I I can't completely blame them for the shrunken shirts since I didnt note in my order not to put in the dryer. 2. The cost is quite a bit higher than your typical drop off service which I was in one respect fine with since they are willing to drop off and pickup at at my door. The delivery guy talked me into paying for membership ($25)the first time around explaining that future laundry drop offs would be cheaper if I was a member. So my first load I sent them was about $50-60 even though I prob only gave about 15-20 lbs of laundry. But the second time my cost was nearly the same at about $40 (double what I pay typically pay to wash and fold place by my apt) Which makes me wonder what the real advantage is to membership of your only saving a couple of dollars. Because their pricing doesnt appear to be by pound but by order so now matter how small or large the order you would be paying the same. And my second order was I believe closer to 10-12 pounds. Additionally, if you want detailed spot and stain removal that costs extra and runs you about $6.95 for just sheets but more if you want spot remove all garments. I added that on my second order for sheets specifically and too my horror, one of my newer white pillow cases returned back with more stains! and Stains that looked like cigarettes even though I didn't smoke. Very disturbing! 3. As far as calling in and booking pickup is concerned - on the plus side- the service allows you to text for pickup after first pickup and indicate time for pickup. However, the time I requested and the time they actually were able to pickup were different which was annoying. Also their phone number is a google voice number which is a little odd for this type of business . I would prefer them to have a landline phone that has a proper answering service because it doesnt seem like they have someone to answer calls throughout the workday. 4. Folding and drop off. So the folding was great and easy to put away however, I found odd that they put my laundry in garbage bags even though I had given them my own laundry bags . It just looked trashy and unprofessional. Also, again delicate clothes tossed in separate bag still damp. 5. Last but not least, the website does not seem to be in working order therefore I could not send this information to the company. I'm not sure if that is a technical thing but for a new member that is unfortunate. I hope they will invest in fixing that as well. Bottom line, If time is a commodity to you and you dont want to trek over to your local drop off laundry in cold weather and try to explain to the person there that doesnt speak a word of english your requests this would be a better option for you. But I would advise you to send no heavily stained or delicate items to them. read more

I have traveled and lived in many different cities and countries. I am use to using a laundry service out of convenience. This company is by far the absolute best laundry service ever!!! They arrived on time and picked up my laundry, giving me a choice of which detergent to use for my clothes, which alone set them apart from any of the other services I have used in the past. The process was smooth and easy and they clearly put a lot of care into the service. Upon my clothes being returned, I noticed that they were folded as if I literally just purchased them from a department store which had me jumping for dear joy! Not to mention the price is extremely reasonable for the quality of service they provide which is EXCELLENT!!! I honestly do not write that many reviews for companies, but this company definitely earned all five stars in my book!!! I have been recommending it to all of my friends and co-workers! This place is great. H1LS is willing to come all the way up to Washington Heights and their drivers are extremely friendly and polite. Prices are fair and I don't know how they manage to fold my clothes so beautifully. One time I was scheduled for a delivery but they were unable to come during the exact time frame I had requested due to unexpected car issues, so they arrived 20 min late and gave me a discount on my order.
