I ran out of socks so I was forced to go on the hunt for a local place. Started with the closest one on Yelp. To my absolute delight, Walton was clean, well lit and the machines were in great shape. I have been scrambling to find a new laundry pick-up delivery service as I'm A) a busy…read moreprofessional, B) living in a 4th floor walk-up, C) not the beneficiary of any type of laundry cart (as if I'd have room for one anyway) & D) a very skinny, frail woman who can't lift a bag of laundry and cleaning stuff all by herself from this 4th floor walk-up to get out of there and get clothing back in one peace. A person in my circumstances NEEDS laundry pick-up/delivery without castigation or harassment. I called this place based on the positive Yelp reviews to inquire about this service. They told me their minimum was 30 pounds. Well, I don't have a scale to weigh a heavy bag on; I simply know when the bag is full and hard for me to maneuver. I mentioned my plight, they told me they only accept cash, would weight the laundry when they had it and would call me to tell me how much it was (as I bank with a credit union that has free ATMs in limited locations so I'd need some time to get cash out of the bank since they don't take credit cards). Days after my laundry pick-up (with no word on when I'd get my clothes back or how much this order will cost), I have to arrange to get my stuff back so I can have clean underwear for the next week. They inform me of the price then & tell me I have to be home right at that instant with cash on hand to get my laundry, telling me of no other time when I could do it. They claimed I was trying to finagle for a special trip for a 12 pound load of laundry and were trying to have me walk 8 blocks to get all that stuff and then try getting it up that 4th floor walk-up with zero help from anyone while I was merely trying to figure out when I could get my stuff back and when they were in the area to drop it off. They did a great job in handling my laundry and folding my socks (hence not getting a 1 star) review but when I tried getting this done again, they basically discriminated against single professionals. I also don't like that lack of credit card acceptance so now I have to see about another dedicated laundry service so I can get this done once a month.

There were several laundromats just half-a-block from my apartment, but they didn't seem to have great reviews - but V&T did! I walked an extra 6 blocks to visit V&T and I didn't regret the decision - I was blown away by them! They have incredible laundry and drying machines that take only 15minutes or so each for a full load of laundry. The place is clean, and everyone is abiding by social distancing policies, like standing apart and wearing masks, and you can schedule a time to visit to make sure you aren't crowded in. Additionally, I spoke to Vince (one of the owners) and he was incredibly kind. He treated me like you would imagine a quality family-owned business would. They have movie nights in business' "backyard" on the edge of a park and they also do BBQ's. They are very community-focused. Their machines take credit card, apple pay, coins. V&T also has coffee if you are so inclined and they sell detergent as well.
