This is the email I sent to S Home Services…read more Last Wednesday evening I had your tech Alfredo come by to check out my AC unit that had died. He said I needed a new capacitor so I told him to go ahead and install. Right after he left, it stopped working and I called him. He came by the next morning and told me my unit was overheating and I needed a new unit. I called my cousin who has a friend in the business and he had his friend come by and take a look at it. He said the capacitor was the wrong size and he changed it. He then checked my air filter which was filthy and told me that was the source of the overheating. He took out the filter and I picked up a new one that evening and everything has been working great since. I have attached the invoice. This is my second request for a refund. I did the first one thru the website and never got a response. I am asking nicely even though I feel I was trying to be taken advantage of. Otherwise, I will be forced to go to Angie's List which is where I found you guys and on Yelp. I would appreciate your quick attention to this matter. Their response was that it was a he said, she said situation and decided not to refund my money even though they didn't fix anything.

The pricing was very fair especially compared to the big HVAC companies that just want to come out and replace the units vs repairing them like John Moore that wanted over $10K to replace when all it needed was a transformer!

YB came out and quoted me $900 - $1200 to repair the leak not including the costs of sheetrock they were going to cut out. I declined and paid the $75 trip charge. I called GAP Plumbing who not only was able to repair the leak without cutting the sheetrock but charged me a grand total of $260. $50 for parts and $210 for labor. Be very careful if you choose this company. Do your research, don't just go by the reviews and don't let the owner talk you into paying a high price for a simple job. The job only took 90 minutes to finish. Do the math. The YB technician that came out was on time and polite and for this I added a star.
