They gave me a great quote well below the bigger company's in the area. Called back the next day Friday to approve the job. They asked if Sunday would work for us. There is no extra charge no matter what time day or night you call. Very happy with the work, the price and timing it took to complete the job. Left work area cleaner than when they arrived and will definitely use again. After I posted this I looked and saw yelp thinks I'm in Kenosha,WI. I am not this work was done in Cary, Il. I'm giving one star because it will not allow zero!! I highly do NOT recommend this company. An…read moreagreement was made with Joey, the owner, in writing. He was donating drywall and installation & gave the cost of his plumber. I'm a disabled solo mom of 3 young children. He asked for $1k for deposit. The amount was promptly sent. He claimed he didn't receive it. It had been taken from my acct. He said he would contact his as well. 2 days later (& after a conversation with him about the work estimated to be done), I wrote a deposit via check for $2500. The $1k to be returned. After that point there were excuses of why a plumber couldn't return. He gutted my entire upstairs bathroom without my consent...tearing out a bath tub that was only supposed to be lifted, a vanity and 3 walls (that were completely unnecessary to take out.) He claimed there was mold under my subfloor. Claimed his carpenter was sick. He knew I was falling down my stairs getting to the only other toliet, 2 floors down. Yet just had excuses of why there at least wasn't a toliet reinstalled on the 2nd floor. When I had a different plumber come... only a small part of the subfloor needed replace. There was no mold, as Joey claimed. And it was confirmed there was no reason for the tub or vanity to be removed. The new plumber changed the subfloor, did all the plumbing, installed a toliet by himself within 3hrs. To be fair when I added up the hours of the time spent and supplies (retail, not the super discount he claimed to buy things), First Response/Joey Malone OWES ME $2116 plus a tub and double vanity. He has denied zelle request to reverse at least the $1k. If you want to deal with a company who lies and steals, this would be it! Disgusting!

Dave's Plumbing and Repair Service - He has really good equipment

I had a bad sewage backup coming up from my laundry room drain and basement shower. This has happened to me before, about a month after purchasing my home I began having backups. I've had several plumbers out to do work as I previously had a warranty which is NOT worth it! They send out these cheap, rude, & sloppy companies for all your calls. The plumbers were always at least an hour away, closer to Chicago. I finally got rid of the warranty last October so when this new backup happened I had to find someone local who I could depend on and trust. I've dealt with 3-4 other plumbers/handymen in the area and I can't say I'd use any of them again. Dave's is completely different! Dave spoke to me about my issue in length on the phone trying to access the problem. It was 12:15 and he says his 2 guys would be at my house shortly. At 1:15 his 2 guys showed up, introduced themselves and walked the basement. They explained what they would be doing and right away began laying down floor coverings. They put booties on right as they entered my home. They carried their equipment downstairs and had pushed through the clogged area quickly! This made me so happy because that enabled me to get the price of the lower quote! They informed me that the cap on the clean out valve was too hard to remove so they had to cut it and had a new one delivered before they finished up. As they packed up the equipment they ran water everywhere making sure everything was flowing smoothly. They cleaned up their area with extreme care! While I was down checking everything out, my 13 yr old Golden retriever made it downstairs as she loves men. She has very bad, weak hips so she NEVER goes downstairs as she can't get up on her own. I struggled to get her upstairs when finally I asked one of the men if they could please help me. They didn't hesitate, the young man rushed over to the stairs and got behind my girl to help her and she made it up! That's going above & beyond! To sum up this very long review; THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING! I was so upset having to deal with all of this as I'm recovering from 5 surgeries & recently divorced. It's just been a sh!# year! Literally! I would have no problem whatsoever allowing these guys into my home if I was not there. The owner Dave took a chance on trusting me as I don't get paid until late Sunday and he let his guys come do the work on a Friday. This is a great group of people to deal with & trust in your home. I am so happy to have found a local plumber I can count on for future plumbing needs. Their prices are extremely fair and their work is outstanding!

It was making my ejection pit pump run every 20 minutes, and I was afraid the pump would fail. So many other people had looked everywhere down there and given up. Colin came the same day, determined to find it -- and he did. He was totally professional and easy to work with. What a relief to finally have a smart, experienced plumber at a very reasonable cost. I will use Dave's Plumbing from now on and highly recommend them! (They go all over the area, not just Crystal Lake)

$35,000 DISASTER FROM A SIMPLE CLOGGED TOILET!!!…read more We called "Emergency Plumbing" with a clogged toilet in August 2024. After their plumber visited us, we ended up with THREE ROOMS DESTROYED BY WATER AND SEWAGE, costing $35,000 IN REPAIRS that took SEVERAL MONTHS, and then later getting dropped by our brand new homeowners insurance due to the claim! "Emergency Plumbing" happily took my several hundred dollars in payment for "clearing the clogged toilet". They have offered no recompense for causing our massive loss. But, to their credit, they did say "sorry" a couple times. THE FULL, DISGUSTING, DANGEROUS, SAD STORY: In August 2024 I called about a clogged toilet I couldn't plunge clear. They were able to schedule a plumber for early in the morning. The plumber arrived, and first wanted to see my septic tank. He started to hand dig a bit towards the tank. A minute of digging got nowhere, so he decided to come inside and look at the toilet. He tried an auger to clear the clog, to no avail. So, he asked to see the sewer cleanout. We went to the basement, where things were about to go DANGEROUSLY BAD. We located it above a ceiling tile in the finished basement. He held a up small garbage bag and opened up the cleanout... A FIRE HOSE RIVER OF SEWAGE immediately began to spray out onto him and our finished basement. He panicked and asked for garbage cans / bags to catch the sewage river. My wife brought down some large utility garbage bags. The plumber and I held up and filled about 3-4 large bags of sewage over our heads during the next several minutes before the flow finally stopped and he could cap off the cleanout. He reassured me by saying, "sometimes stuff like this happens". We were both drenched in sewage from head to toe. Some had splashed in my eyes and mouth. He started to hand mop up the large sewage puddle with some paper towels. I told him "don't bother, this all will need a mitigation company". He replied, "all you really need is some soap and water". Ummm no. We dried off, shedded clothes and went back upstairs. The toilet still wouldn't drain, so he said he'd drive back to get the larger auger. He asked if I had any toilets upstairs, and I replied yes. He said "OK, you can use your upstairs toilet and shower, just don't use the clogged one down here". He left and I started to shower. After showering I came back down to the main floor to discover that SHOWER WATER WAS GUSHING OUT OF THE TOILET INTO OUR BATHROOM AND HALLWAY!!! More fun! In the second panic of the day, I tried my best to dam up the NEW RIVER OF WATER now FLOODING my main level hardwood floors. I ran downstairs to see even more water now soaking many ceiling tiles and raining onto the sauna and floor. I called the plumber and the head plumber agreed to come join the fun. He arrived, I explain the scene, and he said "Oh no, he should never have told you to use the fixtures upstairs". Oh no! The first plumber later returned with the larger auger. They managed to clear the clog with it. They did some hand mopping up of the now destroyed first floor powder room, hallway, hall closet, and living room. They asked for a check for several hundred dollars, said sorry for the problems, took my check and left. The next day we opted for a water & sewage mitigation company, rather than the plumber's recommendation of "soap and water". Over the next couple days, my wife and kids truly enjoyed watching the hardwood floors, powder room, drywall, and finished basement get ripped out of the house we had purchased just months before. Then we had four days of loud industrial fans and dehumidifiers to hopefully prevent any mold. Then a few weeks enjoying a half ripped apart house, no working first floor bathroom, rough hardwood cuts, nails, etc. Lots of fun for kids and wives alike. The insurance claim process and reconstruction took place over the next couple months. We had to cancel our Thanksgiving party, as we were still wrapping up the rebuild by then.In the weeks after the plumbing adventure, I texted and called the plumber, hoping to get some recompense for this disaster, maybe cover my insurance deductible, maybe even my money back? We talked on the phone once and I made my case. He didn't offer anything at all. Haven't heard from them since. I would love to avoid going to court and just have them do the right thing, make this right for a family of four whose second half of 2024 was ruined by their work. Does anyone stand by their work anymore? 0 STARS - CANNOT RECOMMEND FOR ANY PLUMBING WORK. Maybe the head plumber is good? But whatever junior plumber they sent to unclog my toilet basically destroyed much of my new house. They were arrived on time and were friendly to talk to, though, tiny bonus points for that. ONE QUARTER OF A STAR
