A new Hmart to visit? Count me in! This location is located in Schaumburg not too far from Woodfield mall. We came by after running some errands and needed to stock up on some Asian staples at home. We decided to start with the food hall because we were starving. We tried the carbonara tokkboki, and some dumplings. It was a bit too sweet for our liking but the dumplings were delicious. It was so interesting to see the drinks sold separately too. But loved just being able see all the different options. Once we were ready to shop we started walking over to the store. Such a bummer that there wasn't an entrance by the food court. We had to leave the store to walk over to the other entrance to enter the store. Now once we did that, we were excited to see how organized and clean this location was. We stocked up on some fresh fruits and veggies and the fruits were so fresh and sweet. A bit higher priced than the average stores but so yummy! The hot pot prepared goodies is a hot pot lovers dream! We're so excited to come back and get more goodies. Overall a decent experience, the staff weren't very helpful because a lot of them didn't speak English well but overall we were able to find what we need after searching a little. 3/28/2026: visited on a saturday afternoon (~2pm) and the food court was paaacked. we were lucky to have found seating right away. i got the jajangmyun from paik's noodles and my husband got the spicy pork dish from another place. the jajangmyun didn't have as many noodles as i wanted (the dish came out to almost $15), but the taste was okay. my husband liked his dish but it was pretty standard (also expensive). we also visited the TLJ - got the soboro and hazelnut croissant. the croissant was small but decent. the market itself was nice. there was a section of 50% off items so we got some kabocha porridge (호박죽). overall, probably won't visit again for a while due to how hectic it was but i'm impressed by how big the store is! read more

We really like this food court. We don't expect food court spots to be at full restaurant level, but the variety and overall quality here definitely make it worth a visit. We especially enjoyed the Korean fried chicken spot, the tteokbokki place, and the tofu & BBQ Chuang spot - all solid choices with great flavors. The Tous Les Jours location here is a bit on the smaller side, but still a nice option if you're craving something sweet. read more

The store itself is well stocked with lots of variety similar to the one in Niles. We bought a few items that mostly were from sales. Walked in and immediately noticed the home goods and beauty section, then made my way into the grocery area with a massive selection of fresh fruit. There are so many aisles filled with different spices, rice, noodles, snacks, and a wide variety of frozen and refrigerated items. They also have a fresh fish section where you can choose from a great selection. On the other side, there's a food court -- I ordered the BBQ chicken and it was made really well. 02/14/26 - My wife & I went to the new H Mart @ 34 E Golf Road in Schaumburg after we ate @ Lao Hu Tong. This store is huge but it was Saturday, Valentine's Day & still on their Grand Opening. The parking lot & the store was a zoo. When we entered the aisles were jam packed w/too many bodies. The store itself is amazing & they had some great deals. I bought some sliced king mushrooms, Enoki mushrooms & thin sliced beef to make a dish I recently had @ Dolo in Chinatown. They also had a 15lb bag of my Nishiki Premium brand rice for $14.99 instead of the normal price of $27.99 for the same 15lb bag. The also had many of the things I use for cooking like Oyster sauce, fish sauce & sesame seed oil either on sale or for good prices. Because of the crowd they had traffic barriers to direct the flow of people w/a line 2 carts wide of to the checkout. They were also directing people into the store both in & out (Crazy mon). They also have a large food court on the east end of the building that has multiple restaurants that run the full depth of the building on both sides w/seating/dining area in the center. I saw this one dish on passing & if I hadn't just eaten @ Lao Hu Tong I would have dived right in. There was this plate that had a large fried looked like weinerschnitzel or katsu w/coleslaw, macaroni & rice. Okay I live about a 10 minutes from another Hmart.....but I would totally drive 25 minutes to go to this one! It has been crowded the past few times I went! The grocery side was crowded and the food court side was also packed. I'm not gonna lie, I felt a little overwhelmed. I felt like this store had a lot of things to look and buy. There was everything I needed and more....so make sure to have time to browse! The food court side has a great variety to choose from. I would suggest to find a table first before ordering food....at least for now. It can get so busy! I liked that they played kpop on the big screen on the stage. There's also a section in the back to buy drinks....nonalcoholic and alcohol (beer, sake, soju, etc). I enjoyed the katsu spot, Paik's, and Oh K-Dog. Love that there's a kungfu tea & a tous les jour as well. Will definitely have to wait a bit for the hype to die down a bit to enjoy my time browsing without being overwhelmed. read more

I went to H Mart with my friend right after work, after my failed attempt the weekend of their grand opening. The first time around, the line was extremely long, and I didn't have the patience to wait out in the cold, so I ended up going to Joong Boo Market, which is only about five minutes away. This time, I went on a Monday around 3:15 PM. Parking looked pretty full, so I was worried I'd have to wait again, but there was no line! I went in, grabbed a cart, and started strolling through every aisle. H Mart is usually on the pricier side, but they had some really good sales going on (We love a good sale). I bought a bunch of veggies, meats, snacks, ramen, and more. The meat quality was excellent, and I loved having the option to pack my own meat into a container and pay by weight. I really appreciate the flexibility of choosing exactly how much I want. The workers were hardworking and friendly, and the store itself is huge. I'm also really looking forward to checking out their food court, which is also massive. I'm so excited to have this new addition to the Schaumburg area! read more

Checked out the Schaumburg Hmart grand opening on 1/29/26. I learned about the opening that morning. Normally I wouldn't trek out to Schaumburg just for the opening, but I was going to an event at Portillo's just across the street. It was chaos. So many people! I got lucky and found a parking spot quickly. I didn't have much time and had to rush to find everything I needed (plus more). What struck me most was the poor layout. The entry was tight with shelving almost in front of the doors. You walk directly in the housewares. I couldn't tell where the food was. Maybe once the crowds die down and I'm not in a hurry, it'll make more sense. I loved how clean and stocked the store was. The store is big. Lots of sales and specials opening weekend. Good time to stock up. Although I picked up something that had a sales sign, but was charged full price, ugh. If you are looking for specialty Asian ingredients, Hmart is a great place to go. I liked the layout of the food court at Schaumburg. It's big and open with the food stalls lining the sides and seating in the middle. Much better layout than Niles. The Art Box is big and right in front of the registers. I love Art Box. Dangerous to your wallet. Lol. So many cute things. For those that don't know, Art Box is a stationary chain in Korea. Aside from cute stationary items, they have cute home decor, plushies, electronics and much more. I recommend checking it out. I'll have to come back when I have more time. This H Mart is huge!!! Everything you need is here!!! We went during their second week of opening. It was crazy packed! Parking was non existent in the late afternoon lol Lots of food items on sale! There was gift giveaways after spending a certain amount. I got my cute Illinois Hmart tote bag with gloves and face masks inside lol The food court was also crazy packed. Food was ready but no seats available. You either had to share a table (if people are nice enough) or have to fight for one once someone leaves lol We enjoyed beef bibimbap and noodles at the food court. I like that they have a corner in the back of the food court where you can purchase drinks separately instead of getting back in line at the grocery store. They're finally open in the old Kohls on Golf Rd (IYKYK), and after months of anticipation, I was not disappointed. Their food court is huge and probably one of the best food courts I've seen in the Chicagoland area. All the vendors are filled too. Best thing is that they also have plenty of tables and chairs. I'm guessing they will probably fill up on weekends though. There is also a Tour Les Jours baker and cafe inside along with a Kung Fu Tea. The store is like a typical H Mart but because of the grand size of the space, it feels spacious and there is actually room to walk around without bumping into people. Lots and lots of parking too, which is a win! Overall, I think this location is going to be a popular destination for many people near and far. read more

Made it to H Mart Schaumburg 2.0. Good news: they have motorized carts. Bad news: you couldn't move around with the cart for if you wanted or needed too. I did manage to see most of the store but it was longer than my stamina allowed. People are really nice, everyone was glad to give me space. Which was good because the cart was very hard to turn. I did manage to get pretty much everything I went for and snagged some yellowtail nigiri much to my excitement. I think that I'll come back after the crowds die down some. read more

The newly opened H mart is huge! I've been to the one on Niles and downtown and this one is better. It definitely has more selections in the grocery aisles and I really enjoyed their food hall. So many food stalls there to choose from and prices are reasonable. It was very crowded as we were there on the second weekend from opening day so hard to maneuver but definitely worth going back another time...worth the drive! Interestingly enough, this is not far from Jooong Boo, another Korean market which now pales in comparison. read more

Finally stopped in to see what the buzz was all about at this popular, new Asian market and wow, they have everything! I was able to pick up rice noodles and several sauces that were gluten free. Everything looked fresh and reasonably priced. The store is clean and bright and there were lots of employees available to keep it well stocked. The Best Buy of the day for me was mochi in many different flavors for $2.99 for a box of six. The coffee flavor was a delicious gluten free bite. read more

The new Schaumburg II H Mart location just had its grand opening on 1/29/26 (the smaller previous location is now closed). We visited the following day with our families and kids, and the place was absolutely jam-packed -- which is great to see from a business perspective. As soon as we walked in around 6 PM, the food court was completely full with no open tables anywhere. We decided to skip eating at that point and spent about two hours grocery shopping before heading back to the food court later. The shopping aisles were just as busy -- carts everywhere and lots of weaving around people -- but at least the store is spacious with plenty of aisles to explore. If you're looking for any Asian ingredients or specialty items, they probably have it here. There's a live seafood section in the back, and the store is well ventilated, so you don't really get that strong seafood smell like you might at other markets. The produce section is huge, the snack aisles are extensive, and there are also toys and gift items near the checkout area when you first enter. The food court itself is very large, with many vendors and a long hall that leads to a giant projection screen and a small stage area for entertainment or special events. Toward the end of the hall, there is a large concession area where you can purchase water and alcoholic drinks. Restrooms and water bottle refill fountains are also located at the end of the food hall. There are even beauty shops surrounding the food court area, which adds to the "all-in-one" experience. As for food options, there's a solid mix of Korean, Chinese, and Japanese vendors, plus Kung Fu Tea and a Tous Les Jours bakery. Expect typical food court pricing -- around $15-$20+ per entrée. On busy days, be prepared to hunt for open tables and wait 15-20 minutes for your food to be prepared. On this visit, our family tried Korean fried chicken wings from BBQ Chicken, Korean corn dog from Oh K Dog, and a couple bowls of udon noodle soup and a Korean army stew ramen from Sang's Kitchen. Overall, it felt a little pricey for what you get. Portion-wise, I don't think it's the best bang for your buck. The udon noodle soup was well-flavored, but the ramen was on the salty side. Personally, I'd probably prefer ordering some of these dishes at their standalone restaurants rather than food stalls -- unless I'm really hungry and convenience is the main factor. That said, it's still a great place to shop and grab a casual bite with friends or family. We'll definitely be back for more grocery shopping, though we may not eat dinners at the food court on every visit but we may certainly grab a snack when craving hits every now and then. I also spoke with one of the staff members who flew in from New Jersey for opening weekend, and she mentioned this is currently the largest H Mart in the state -- bigger than the Naperville and Niles locations, and larger than Joong Boo Market in Schaumburg. Overall, this is a place worth checking out. However, if you're not a fan of crowds, I'd recommend waiting a couple weeks after grand opening to let the traffic die down. H Mart was running some really great grocery deals & had some freebies gifts with tiered purchases during opening week, which definitely drew in the crowds -- exactly what you'd want to see from a successful launch. Tip: Make sure you sign up for H Mart shopper rewards program to take advantage of the grocery shopping points and special pricings. It's 1 point for every $1 (1000 points = $10 gift certificate). You can sign up via the H Mart app easily on your own and show them the bar code at checkout. Also, check your grocery receipts at the end. I found a duplicate scan on mine and was able to get a refund at their Customer Service desk next to the checkout lanes. Lastly, expect that the staff works fast here and they don't make much small talk. So at the end of scanning they may just say "Card!" which should signals you to whip out your membership card quickly. They're efficient that's for sure! read more

Recently visited the HMart grand opening weekend for their new Schaumburg location. The space used to be a Kohls so it was quite large in size. The space was divided into two sides: grocery & food court. It was so well organized, clean, and fully stocked. The grocery side had such a wide variety of offerings where you could find something new every time you visit. On the food court side, they had many vendor options all offering something different. In addition to food, they had a large stage, beverage/to-go area, beauty shop, and toy shop. I definitely need to go back just to explore the food court better! For opening weekend, they had deals to get a free foldable bag if you sign up for their free member rewards off the app. They are also offering gifts based on how much you spend. I spent $30 and got an Illinois branded HMart bag! Highly recommend coming out to Schaumburg to check out this new addition to the community but be sure to give yourself enough time to do a deep dive. read more

So exciting! Didn't do any grocery shopping yet, so I can't speak to the prices and how they compare to the other Asian groceries (i.e., JoongBoo, Fresh Itl.), but the food court is stacked with great vendors! Cho dang! Kung Fu Tea! Paik's Noodles! Bb.q Chicken! For the grand opening day/evening, the food court was packed. We lucked out and were able to get two tables next to each other for our family group. FYI there are 2 entrances: the far left makes you go through the grocery section and through the registers. If you want to skip that and go straight to the food court, make sure you go through the far right entrance. It was a headache of a maze otherwise. What we got: Cho Dang - kimchi pork soondubu - This soondubu is still one of my favorites. The broth is rich and flavorful--not thin and empty like some places. Comes with banchan that you can get refills on. They even gave us some complementary dduk. Cho Dang - Bibimbap - This was so good. Chock full of veggies -- shredded purple cabbage, bean sprouts, spinach, carrots, mushrooms -- and meat. The texture of everything combined was amazing. And the portion size was enough to share between 3 adults. Paik's Noodle - jajjang myun - Still sooo good. The sauce is thick and creamy. The noodles have an excellent chew. It's slightly sweet and savory. This one is much better than the one at Joongboo--our kids loved it and couldn't get enough! For my dad who loves spicy, we got him chili jjamppong from Paik's Noodle--he said it was just the right amount of spicy. He polished off his bowl on his own! For my grandma who only eats plain and soft, we got Cho Dang's seafood soondubu. The seafood was not quite what I remembered from the actual restaurant. It used to be like clams, mussels, and shrimp. This had some crab legs and shrimp, but they were overcooked and mushy. I think she still liked everything else though. Can't wait to come again and try more! Also, I'm not sure if it's just grand opening, but it was so loud in the food court. With so many people plus a live musician, the volume could have been turned way, way down. It was a bit too much...and not that pleasant to have a meal to. The performer's volume felt overpowering where we couldn't talk to each other over our meal--it would have been nicer as something in the background to appreciate instead of feeling like we were being screamed at. read more

Lots of interesting things here! I've been to the Niles location before and I like H Mart mostly for ramen, sauces, and snack items. The only thing I didn't like was having to walk through the seafood department. I've always been told that fresh fish shouldn't smell. They have a lot of stuff just out in the open laying on top of ice. Awful odors and that can't be a sanitary way to showcase fresh seafood. I would definitely come back here after some of the grand opening vibes taper off. The food court looked really cool! read more

This new H Mart used to be a Kohl's.  In other words, it's huge.  And impressive.  We made a first visit today on a Wednesday at 3pm, and it was very busy, as if it were the weekend.  It made me glad that we didn't bother to come here on their Grand Opening weekend (just 3 days ago) because it must have been a total zoo here.  I still don't know why so many people don't need to be at work and were here when we were lol.      Anyway, their food court is also quite spacious as well as impressive with many enticing vendors.  Amongst others, the vendors include Tous Les Jours, Kung Fu Tea, Paik's Noodle, Sang's Kitchen, and BBQ Chicken.  It was packed to the gills in the food court as well.  A lot of items in the store were on sale.  The wife putzed around just in the produce section for a whole 45 minutes lol.  This place is definitely the latest and greatest as far as Korean marketplaces and they have everything you could imagine or want.  The newest Schaumburg Joong Boo Market is only a mile away to the east on Golf Road and H Mart is pretty much paying Joong Boo back for what the new-at-the-time Joong Boo in Glenview did to the H Mart in Niles about 8 years ago.  And that was to win away significant Korean grocery market business.  We actually dropped in the Schaumburg Joong Boo on the way home and it was pretty dead.  The H Mart in Niles never did fully recover its business and we'll see how this long term battle of Korean grocery giants plays out.  In the meantime, congratulations to H Mart on their impressive new store! read more

stopped by H Mart in Schaumburg for a quick lunch on a Thursday around noon and wow was this place was busy! The food court was absolutely packed, which honestly says a lot. To me that means that good food and fair prices!! The store itself is super clean and well organized. Staff were friendly and helpful, even with the lunchtime rush. There's also a ton of parking, which makes it easy even when it's crowded. Might have to park far, but beats circling around the lot. I grabbed sushi for lunch and it was fresh and delicious exactly what I was hoping for. Definitely a great spot for a quick bite if you're in the area. Only downside? It's a bit on the pricey side. But for the quality and freshness, it may be worth the splurge. I'll definitely be back! Close to work, and convenient! read more

Exceptional outlet for this Asian food and home goods chain, which has moved around the corner from a much smaller location. Expanded fresh seafood and meat selections, plus aisle after aisle of canned and boxed foods as well as frozen entrees and side dishes. A new large food court has opened within the store, offering all of your Asian favorites, as well as a French bakery. I went to Katsu and Ramen hoping for Chicken Katsu, but they were out, so it was pork, which resembles the local large tenderloins in Illinois. Comes with a savory gravy, macaroni salad, rice, miso, and a cabbage slaw. All were delightful. Got off easy in the store, only spent $32. Could have easily gone crazy. I will be back, of course. I have been looking forward to checking this place out ever since I read about it's opening from other yelpers. Asian grocery stores are a high danger zone for me. I mostly eat an organic/wild caught, mostly vegan diet, 80/20 at least but all these yummy processed Asian foods are calling my name when I step in. Overall, I'm impressed. It's gigantic with good sales all around. I scored great prices on Otafuku Yakisoba sauce, Marukome Miso, Gochujang, Lao Gai Ma fried chili crisps, Chinkiang Vinegar & Red Boat fish sauce, 5 varieties of noodles & um other processed foods. Service was fast & efficient, ambiance is good in that there is so much variety. However, they had this sweet potato food cart obstructing the passage way, be careful around it. The food court is super crowded, no available seating in sight but the food lines appear short. Clean bathrooms. Not terribly relaxing with the huge crowds to eat at the food court. Portion sizes seem huge especially with the fried tonkakusu store. The Asian bakery & stationery store is here too but I didn't think the stationery store had great competitive prices. H Mart has been one of my favorite stores. The fruit and other produce look excellent. I particularly enjoyed some really good limes I had at their store. They have a huge variety and selection. Their store is spacious, well-organized, and aesthetically pleasing. They even have an area where you can sit and dine if you would like. When I was there, they had Korean music videos playing. They have foods and goods that you may not find elsewhere, e.g., Vita Soy soy milk. They also have amazing-appearing prepared foods, e.g., delicious sushi. Their foods seem to be high quality. Was very excited to visit the new store but once I arrived I couldn't wait to leave! Whoever designed the layout of the store needs to be fired. The layout was so bad that people didn't know which way to go and carts were constantly bumping and causing a jam so no one could pass. They even had a random roasted potato machine basically blocking the isle and making the turns need ed so difficult and frustrating. The only pro was the food court seemed better set up than the one in Niles but still they need to really work on re doing the layout and making it more wider and easier for the customers to be able to get though the isles with ease. I didn't even end up buying anything. It was a horrible first time experience at the new location which is too bad since I was really looking forward to an amazing experience. read more

Just a heads up, it does take 25 minutes to get those wings since they're cooked to order. Only downside is that this place is not near where I live but I'll definitely make the trip. Chaotic grand opening weekend!! Hmart did a fantastic job with keeping everything as organized as they possibly can. They were doing capacity control which was good. They also included portable heaters outside that kept everyone warm. There were constant employees bringing the cart back inside the store. Everything was fully stock for the most part despite the crazy amount of people inside!! The check out process was also easy despite lines being long and wrapping everywhere! They had a lot of nice grand opening specials with some really good deals. The free gifts table was nicely organized and was quick to pick up the stuff and leave! The store itself had a ton of items compared to other Asian grocery stores in the area! We didn't get a chance to experience the food court because it was super packed! Soo bad that you can't even walk in. I would love to go when the hype dies down a bit. Lastly, they have a tous Les jours here which is nice since I was so used to having one next to the old Hmart! A++ all the way. I've gone in there three times now, and I feel like I still haven't seen half of everything they have. They literally have everything I want. The first time I visited was during their grand opening, and even though the lines were horrible, they were nice enough to put heaters out for everyone, and the line moved pretty quickly. They were very organized considering the vast number of people trying to get in. Once you're in there, oh boy! I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but I wanted to buy everything, so you really need to go in there on a mission, or you will leave with everything. The food court is great too, and it's nice to see they have the Tous Les Jours there too. (I first went to the one in North Columbus, GA and it was nice, and this is a bit smaller but still good.) We will be back to visit the food court because it was too crowded the first time, but they had a live band in there, and it was great to see so many different people all enjoying the food, which smelled and looked delicious. I'll be back this weekend! I'm about 20 minutes away, but if this place were closer to me, I'd dip in for food all the time (grocery and food court)! Employees are great, as well. read more

Be careful if you use EBT! This place is a scam! They double charge me! One they charge me the tax of my purchase 2 I paid $3.00 in cash then 0.6 on Apple Pay found out they took my $3.00 cash and charge my Apple Pay $3:06 as well with EBT there not supposed to be tax but if you look at my receipt my total was 44.96 ebt balance cover was 41.90 if you minus 44.96 and 41.90 that leave me left with owe $3.06 so not only did I get tax with ebt I also got rip off. Buy paying $3.00 cash and on my debt card $3.06 as well. We'll never come here again. I ask what wasn't cover she would not answer me so I check my receipt just as I was curious what didn't cover since I know this year things are different for ebt but nope they made me pay the Tax that ebt take off and when you ask speak to someone they get you no one and you call the number does not answer either. So thank H-Mart for scamming me $6.06 if it because I'm white that is very rude. You're in my country and I came to your store to try your food items and you took advantage of it.
