Update: I contacted H mart about an issue within the store a few months ago and was ignored. so writing on here now. We were in the vicinity and wanted to buy 1 thing. All the asiles are switched around and the locals say they dont really like it at all and its hard to get around. Ppl i know that used to go to Hmart no longer do. The prices are high here only after a short while of opening. If you see a 5 star review those ppl dont shop around at asian supermarkets often at all and is a rarity to them so they dont understand the prices are high. Quality of a lot of products have gone downhill. etc Anyway, My issue when contacting Hmart was while we in the store there were older ppl and children, The Audio was playing swear words, sexual themes etc. I have a video of not once but twice of this happening at Hmart. Tried contacting them twice and they never responded. This is not a family store if you are playing this type of music trash overhead. A woman with her child complained and left the store. This store has become a dis-service to the community. Originally excited when seeing Korean workers there that could help out locals that spoke korean, now they dont exist to help. The people there now struggle with English and dont speak korean, ill just say that. they are not helpful in the least when finding anything. Not a fan of this location. Do better. There are so many better locations in the area. They had a good first year but thats about it imo. read more

Not a bad location, smaller compared to Burlington or Quincy, but about same size as Cambridge without the food court. Store was clean, items were easy to find, i grabbed some shrimp chips on sale and a bag of peanut shrimp snacks. They have all their marinated meats as they are known for and fresh seafood ready to bring home and cook. They do have this seaweed crunch snack i posted in photo section, it's pretty addicting!! I'm honestly so happy to see a bunch of HMart locations are opening in MA! Though this one isn't that new, it's still crazy thinking about how it was just a few years ago that we only had one HMart around, in Burlington! This HMart is situated right on the same strip as Gyu-Kaku & Kyuramen + walking distance to the new bustling Asian restaurants on Beacon St... great addition to Brookline ;)) I'd say this is one of the smaller Hmarts I've been to, might even go as far as to say smallest? It's smaller than the one in Cambridge with only about 4-5 aisles & smaller selection of fruits, vegetables, meats, & seafood but they do a good job with carrying most stuff you'd find at your typical HMart. In the front of the store, they offer baked sweet potatoes, which I always thought that was cool. Usually never see that at the other locations. Only downside to HMart Brookline that I've found is that they don't have a food hall/court area like Cambridge/Quincy/Burlington but then again, there's so many yummy restaurants around haha. I was disappointed in my first visit for a number of reasons. When I was shopping during the middle of a week day, it was hard to get around the narrow aisles made even more narrow by so many people stocking the shelves. I was intrigued by the various packaged items, but there is little or no information about preparation. Staff could not answer a question I had about an item. The clerk packing my bag put my one fragile item (baby bok choi) on the bottom and put all the boxes and containers on top. Staff needs training. read more

Woot woot! I'm a huge fan of H Mart and though I don't mind trekking out to Burlington so I can eat at the massive food court, it is nice to have a more local H Mart for all my Asian pantry and snack needs. The selection, unsurprisingly, was pretty limited but my friend and I found (almost) everything we wanted. I was on the hunt for a certain brand of frozen dumplings that I'm obsessed with but didn't see it in the freezer aisle. Right when you walk in, to the right, is the produce and fruit, which I passed up, since the prices there seemed way higher than what you can get at Trader Joe's/even Whole Foods. The hot pot meats, seafood, and snacks are further in the back. There's a section of prepared foods but if you really want to be dazzled by a whole massive wall of banchan, I recommend making the trip up to Burlington. No food court or bakery section here (which is fine, Japonaise is right next door for all your bakery wants). Plenty of street parking along Beacon. And a reminder to bring your own bag! The paper bags they provide don't have handles, which is bad news bears if you buy heavier items and need to lug them back home. read more

Well-stocked grocers with a great selection of prepared Korean food. They had our faves and more: squid, fish cakes, and kimbap. They also had a nice selection of onigiri. We grabbed spicy tuna, spam and egg, spam and crab stick. tuna Mayo, and beef. This Boston location even has Lobster Rolls!! And man, was I so glad we grabbed one. I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the lobster was and the softness of the roll. It was really fresh. Enjoyed every thing we bought. They also have a nice produce, seafood and sashimi section. We were able to get everything we needed. Highly recommend! read more

H Mart has horrendous customer service. They are opening in Newton Center and towed my car on a SUNDAY, not even open yet! There was free parking all around and they have been doing it for months. No sign where I parked. They towed an employee of the bookstore and I saw a woman park there after me who had a wheelchair! Boycott this store! read more

Located at Brookline Center, there's only street metered parking. The Saint Mary's Street stop in the green line is right across the street though. Smaller than most Hmarts I've been to and unlike other Hmarts, there's no food court area. There's lots of eateries surrounding it though. Good variety of quick takeaway foods as well. read more

Food is fresh, but on the pricey side, rivaling Maruichi (at Coolidge Corner) but not as fresh as Maruichi. I do hope that this H Mart can survive (where previous stores, like Johnny's Foodmaster, failed in this very same location). read more

I live in Fenway and when I heard that an H-mart was going to open on Beacon street in Brookline, I literally screamed in happiness. It is a 10-15 min walk from my place. I am Asian and love to cook primarily Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese foods. I am obsessed with H-mart, but the Cambridge location is a bit of a walk from me, ~45 min walk, and the other two H-marts in Burlington and Quincy are a far drive, ~40 min drive from me. This H-mart took over the old Whole foods. Do not expect a huge store like the ones in Burlington/Quincy. This H-mart, for the layout, they did a good job getting as much items in as possible. Everything was fresh, neat, and clean. I would have liked for the produce/vegetable section to be larger while minimizing American products because there is already a Trader joes in Coolidge Corner as well as a Star market in Fenway for those items. The sushi section could have more options too. But overall I am ecstatic that I can find most ingredients that I use here. read more

This location opened just a week ago, and the line was down the block the morning of opening day. I stopped by a few days later though, and traffic inside was manageable. Again, I was pleasantly surprised to find everything stocked to the t! (This was similar to another H Mart I had visited on opening weekend.) If you are also used to other H Marts, this location is a bit small. There's no food court or bakery up front, but they do have a small assortment of skincare products and ready-made banchan (Korean side dishes) - both classics at H Mart. Pricing for produce is definitely on the expensive side, but they have a fresh assortment. There was also only one cashier working when I went but nevertheless, no line. I'm mostly just happy to have an Asian supermarket close by in the city. read more

The items are good. Wish they had durable bags that can cause less damage. All the other hmart has white bags that are durable than the paper bags during heavy rain. Try to ask, but the girl just ignored me. Need good manners. My bagged ripped. read more

This is a great location, very clean. I usually go to hmarr in quincy which is huge but this a better location eventhough is smaller. I have been able to try a lot of yummy food and desserts. Definitely will be back read more

I'm not from Boston so it was nice to have an H-mart close to my university. Downside is that this h-mart does not have a food court due to how small it is, but there are still packaged food ready to eat like sushi. read more

When it opened a couple months ago I was very excited. Great selection, lots of variety, satisfied my Asian needs very well, but could get some great staples from there as well (e.g., milk, eggs, etc). Prices seemed very competitive as well. Well, ever since that opening weekend, prices have gone up loads. Cat food (yeah I know, it's H mart) went from cheaper than Star Market to double. Other items have also gone through the roof. So I find myself wondering if this is some sort of bait and switch, see if people are paying attention, kind of deal? Frustrating because this store, at least at first glance, is a vast improvement over the Whole Foods that Amazon allowed to go to pot. read more
