This store seems to have had a change in staff or maybe just a general "come to Jesus" meeting to correct a lot of what I previously mentioned. I do like this store now, however it's so so so busy all the time, so I don't get to go very often. read more

I have never had a bad experience here at this HEB or any other for that matter. The employees are always helpful and friendly. The issue that I have is I was at the store yesterday and I was getting a cart outside the store I saw the biggest rat I have ever seen in my life. The rat crawled up a metal beam by an outside water display and got into a space between the wall and the outside ceiling. It makes you wonder if any rats make their way into the store??? While I did not alert a manager of what I saw, I wish that I did. Needless to say I did not shop there that day! read more

This review is strictly for the bakery. I needed a simple blue cake with maybe some stars on there to appear like a night sky to go with my son's PJ Mask theme. The chick at the bakery said she doesn't think they can do stars but can give me a blue cake. I really didn't understand because upon entering the store, there was a 3 tiered graduation cake with extensive decorations, yet a few stars weren't really possible? The girl was getting impatient with me everytime I asked if they can do this or that and I wasn't asking for anything fancy. Whatever I had the figurines to put on the cake with me and asked if they can do that at least? She said yup and took all the figurines. When receiving my cake the day of my son's birthday party, it was just that, a blue cake. Gave me back all the figurines still in the package. I also had different color cupcakes with the cake and the food coloring they use in the frosting is the worst ever. It instantly stains as soon as you touch it. I was a little horrified looking at all the multicolored stained faces of all the kids. I felt so terrible and had to apologize to all the parents. Come to find out, some parents even asked "you got the cupcakes from HEB, didn't you? Yup, we learned the hard way too with the food color/stain." Needless to say, I learned my lesson too. Don't ever get any colored frosting from HEB. And the customer service at this bakery department was non-existent. read more

I am very disappointed with this location. It is not the first time! I went to the service desk because they appeared to be out of a frozen breakfast item that I like. The person who was sent to find the item could not locate it NOR could the Grocery Manager. I was told they no longer carry the variety I was seeking although there is still a shelf tag. This location is convenient as I am often in the area" but because they do not know their products, I will not be stopping by there to shop. read more

I like this HEB except for the pharmacy dept at this location. The lady technician was rude and misleading in trying to overcharge me for my 2 children's antibiotic prescriptions which was only one per child. I was not given nor offered any counseling on my drugs and was tricked into paying double for flavoring for the medicines! When I asked why I was charged double for both my prescriptions, the only response the head pharmacist said was that it was their descretion whether they wanted to charge double for the same medicine just because they gave me the liquid medicines into 4 bottles and charged per bottle! What a scam! They didn't explain that the medicines would be in 4 bottles rather than two, when they initially asked me to flavor the medicines for $ 2.99 each per bottle. Some pharmacies don't even charge to flavor and if they did, they would charge it once per prescription not by the bottle! I can clearly see they are just after numbers and production and not about the patient! read more

When it comes to being ignored when you need help this is the place to go. Heck it is even better when a manager does it that way he can show the regular employee that the customers are just pains in the ass not be be bothered with. I have been shopping with HEB for several years now, really ever since I left parents home and on my own with who is now my husband. I have to tell you, I absolutely love everything HEB. From how friendly all of the workers are, to everything usually being in stocked (well, from what I usually buy), including but not limited to how fresh the produce is. And, they almost always have several check out lanes with the nicest cashiers ready to serve you. I don't think I have ever really been disappointed in HEB whatsoever, so keep up the good work HEB! read more

I always shop HEB 290/BARKER, try to go early in the morning or late at night just to avoid the crowd. My compliant, one Saturday morning about a week ago stop in to shop it was early, I was in the meat location grabbing some organic bacon there were two female employees replacing outdated bacon as I reached down to grab the bacon I was unsure if the one I was grabbing was outdated or current so I asked the employee closest to me if it was update she then pointed the date out to me as if she did not want to read the date on package she wanted me to read it, so I told her thank you, took the bacon, still was not sure if the bacon was updated or not as I turned to walk away I SAW 'HER ROLL HER EYES THEN SHE SAID' TO THE OTHER EMPLOYEE 'OH MY GOD THEY DON'T EVEN WANT TO READ THE LABELS NOW! I emailed corporate to complain on the employees rude and unprofessional conduct behavior, I NEVER GOT RESPONSE BACK. See the reason why I could not read the label myself that morning was not because I did not want to do it my self ,but because I'm legally blind and I can't read small prints. I lost my prescribed glasses that morning. This is to the employee who was bothered about helping, next time a customer asked for help it's probably Because, they really need it. HEB really needs a customer employee training system, to get these employees professionally trained to service the customers. HEB give chick file a call, their employees are always courteous. read more
