4.5/5 So it may have…read moretaken me a half a year after almost signing up as a founding member and a yelp event class at a different F45 location to finally try out F45 East in its prime!! You guys, don't hesitate; run to a class! I'm currently signed up for a free week trial and I've never felt more comfortable during a (pretty intense) workout class. And feel great about myself! It's a pretty simple set up, you walk in and that one room is all. So it's not as big as other locations, but that's okay because you have all the room you need. There are cubby's for personal item and water fountains (can't remember if there is a bathroom). And then the rest is the workout floor! I recommend researching what makes F45 unique because they have so many different classes. Short and simple, the class is set up in stations and you rotate through them. So you don't have to set anything up or put anything away. There are two personal trainers walking around the room and the demonstration and timer for your station are on a screen in front of you. My biggest ehhh about F45 is that it's all on the screen..cool but I feel like it's a bit of $$$ for a less than personal interaction during my station. Also there is minimal warm up and no cool down. Would love to see a 5 min stretch incorporated. Overall, this location was so welcoming and inviting and pushed me to my limits without me unsafe. Even though your station is on the screen, the trainers were always helpful and helped with form and modifications. Loved coming here and will see what I decide after my free trial!

I've been to many F45 studios in different cities and this is hands down my favorite one. I took a…read more5:15am class with Andrea and a 930am with Rebecca & Andrea and they were AWESOME. They had such great energy and pushed the class. Will definitely visit again if I'm ever back in town :)

I don't live in Nashville, but since so many studios have made themselves available on ClassPass…read morefor virtual classes, I've been enjoying "traveling" to different cities to try different classes. One of the very first things I noticed about this local business is the fact that they included pronouns of all their instructors directly next to the class name. I thought that was so inclusive and awesome...and to be honest, I have never seen it before in any fitness or yoga class I've ever attended. It says so much to me about their values as a studio. I attended the trauma informed yoga class with Sarah via ZOOM. I really appreciated how easy the studio made it for me to find the link and that the process was seamless. Another thing that attracted me to the studio was that I was astounded with the diversity of experience, education, and the focus on mental and spiritual health that their website explained for instructors. For example, Sarah is a body positive advocate that doesn't believe in diet culture or fatphobia. She has a focus on trauma informed practices and making yoga accessible to all bodies. Her bio online says she has worked with many different organizations as a licensed master social worker. It makes a huge difference when the folks who teach trauma yoga classes actually know what they are doing versus trying to implement something they read in a book. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with the studio, even if my own computer issues did force me to have to log out early (if you're reading this Sarah, sorry about that!) If I find myself near music Row in Nashville I wouldn't hesitate to take another yoga class at this wonderful place.

I am not a workout class person, but more of a struggle in silence while trying to figure out what…read moreto do in the gym. I found this gym through a long search for trauma informed yoga classes. As of Feb 2022, this gym is the only gym/studio in town that offers these classes and they're once a month on Sunday afternoons. The teacher was good and the class was very chill and low intensity. To attend that class, I bought 14 days for $14. As a first year teacher, I try to get my money's worth out of things so I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and sign up for a class. The gym is a little hard to find your first time depending on where you're coming from, since it's underneath the yoga studio at street level. I came in, nervous and not knowing what to expect. I had signed up for Sweat with Jess, the owner. Sweat is a circuit class, but there's a lot of flexibility on what exercises you actually do. Jess led us in a warm up then explained the first circuit, but I must have looked like a deer in the headlights. She came up to me and quietly asked if I needed some help and I said yes please. She got me some small weights, demonstrated, then stayed with me until I got it. She was fantastic at checking in with me throughout the class in a quiet, respectful way. I've never met a class instructor like her, who was equal parts personable and professional. She was so encouraging, kind, funny, and clearly knew her stuff. It was a good workout, but I really appreciated that she told us to listen to our bodies and do what we needed. The class flew by too, which I have never said about a workout class. I've already signed up for my next class! I cant even put all the amazing things about this gym in a review, partially because my hands are sore from the kettlebell. I highly recommend checking out their website, they have a fantastic vision/ purpose.

Meh. GFA isn't exactly what I expected in a gym. Maybe it works for some, but it's just not up to…read morepar in my book. I've had plenty of different gym memberships across town depending on where I lived at the time - but I won't be back to this one. Let's start with the good. Location is great, fees are not bad, small gym (which is fine). These are initial observations when I signed up. Now, we shimmy on over to the "not-so-good" part of the review. I got to GFA at 5:45 AM and popped into the restroom really quick. Very dirty restroom. Honestly... disgusting. So I simply deduce either a) no one cares to clean up after themselves here or b) no one is on staff during the night to make sure the customers needs are being met. I took pictures to share, but I'll spare you (you're welcome). Not a deal breaker, but not an amazing start. The first treadmill I jumped on didn't work (touch screen controls seemed to be completely dead). No big deal. The second didn't work either (same issue). The third treadmill took a lot of work to get going, but it finally worked. I noticed that there was a TON of dirt caked inside the treadmill air vents (I included a picture) which are pointed directly at your face while running. Also, not awesome. I ran with a wince for 45 minutes. Additional observations. Weight room is very small (don't love to workout in tight spaces - again, personal preference), there are no showers, and FOX news was blaring all morning. Unfortunately at this time, I cannot recommend GFA and will not be extending my membership. I hope your experience is better than mine should you choose them for your local gym.
