This was my first time attending an Orangetheory class in Nashville, and unfortunately, it was a…read morefrustrating experience from the start. First, the parking situation is a nightmare. The turn-in to the lot is extremely narrow and my Jeep Wrangler barely made it through. If you drive anything larger than a sedan, be warned: it's a very tight squeeze and not easily accessible. Once inside, I had questions about parking and class logistics, but the front desk staff gave me pretty dry, short answers. I had signed up for a "Strength" class, but as someone new to OTF, I didn't realize there were two different formats running simultaneously - one focused on the treadmill, the other on weights. When I was asked where I wanted to go, I said "tread" without understanding that it meant I'd be on it for the entire class (I thought just a starting point/ warm up). About 30 minutes into the class, I realized I may have messed up. I went to the front desk for clarification, but no one was there. So, I approached the coach as quietly and respectfully as possible. I explained I had mistakenly joined the wrong group and asked to switch to the weight room, which still had an open spot (and where I was originally scheduled). The coach immediately dismissed my request, saying, "If I let you do it, I'd have to let everyone do it," even though I clearly didn't understand the class setup and was trying to correct an honest mistake. Also why would everyone else want to switch if they were signed up for treads? She seemed more annoyed than understanding, and didn't offer any real solution. I then asked if I could use the rower instead of running (I have bad knees and don't enjoy running), but again she refused, saying others might want to do the same. The rowers were empty. The only option she gave me was a stationary bike and by that point, I just felt completely dismissed and unwelcome. I come to the gym for the helpful guidance and support from the trainers and staff or else I would just use my apartment gym on my own. I minus well have today.

The programming is always well-planned, including accessory lifts after the main lift, and a challenging WOD. I never feel like we are too focused on one specific area. The coaches and members excel at welcoming newcomers and out of town drop-ins. It's an inclusive spot where everyone is welcome. If you're looking for a new Crossfit box, checking out a new gym, or just dropping by, Crossfit Rising Sun is one of the best our there.

This is the 3rd crossfit gym I have attended and this one is top notch. The programming is well thought out and I appreciate that Kyle does all the programming himself. If you want to improve your fitness and if you want to improve your barbell work this is the place for you. The form on my lifting has improved significantly since starting here because the coaches take the time to coach you and help you work on your form. This gym is very inclusive and they want everyone to know that. When you are new to an area it can be challenging to make friends and everyone here is building a community and will always welcome anyone to join.

They now have free weight squat racks and bench. The bathrooms are clean. It's never too busy, well at least when I go which is like 5-7 am. All in all great experience.

I am a recent member of PF, and am new to the Nashville scene - so after some time at my apartment…read moregym, I wanted to get access to equipments I wouldn't have otherwise at my apartment. Here are my thoughts on the experience: 1. Cleanliness - unfortunately, this is horrible. The equipment often feels dirty, and I sometimes get black markings on my hands from touching the weights, which is quite disgusting. The men's bathroom is even worse - it's dirty, musty, and lacks proper air flow, making the experience of simply washing my hands unpleasant. I didn't even bother to look into the lockers or showers because I bet I'd be frightened with how this may be "upkept." 2. Staff interaction - for me, this has been on a minimal, as I usually just want to get in and out for my workout. From what I've seen, they seem friendly enough, but I haven't had much need to engage with them. 3. Equipment Availability - this is generally okay. Though it can get busy during peak hours. Timing your workouts outside these peak times is crucial if you want to make sure you have access to the equipment you need and wouldn't want to wait / or if you're simply in a rush. 4. Overall Experience - while the price is great, the overall experience leaves me feeling otherwise. You feel like the equipment and facilities is neglected, and it impacts the quality of your workout environment in a way. So, if cleanliness is important to you - you might reconsider your options. But if you're looking for price/budget, this is great seriously! Just be intentional and wipe down anything you use BEFORE and AFTER, don't want to risk catching anything because you're not staying clean.
