Loved this studio! It was my first time trying a class, and I was from out of town. Everyone made me feel super welcome, not to mention a personalized birthday greeting sign! You will be taken care of if you attend their class :)

Located in a cool area in town with nice street art, graffiti like, on the inside. Staff is nice and classes were excellent! Loved it!

Holy (insert expletive here) Barry's Bootcamp kicked my (insert another expletive here too)!! I'll stop ranting so this review doesn't start resembling Mad Libs but no joke, if you have the inclination to whip yourself into shape, quit all the lame weightlifting and cardio that you're attempting to do on your own. This class will ensure that your body pushed to it's limits. Barry's Bootcamp recently opened in the ground floor of The Velocity building in The Gulch neighborhood and offers up stellar workouts in beautiful new space. I especially love the smoothie bar stocked with vegan rice protein! I enjoyed an Acai smoothie ($6) post bootcamp and am craving another one as we speak. The locker rooms are small but offer up ample locker space, showers, and are stocked with delightful toiletries. Nice touch. Beat me up and then love me with posh lotions and bath products. On to the workout: I was lucky enough to attend a class led by the owner Antonio who also possesses more energy than is humanly possible. He was definitely motivating but there were certainly moments where I uttered death threats under my breath. You may ask was my Cardinals ball cap sitting so low on my face? I'll tell you why... I WAS IN (insert expletive here) TEARS! Trust me, *I can strut in 5 inch platforms while carrying 2 pony kegs and not wince in pain or weakness and Antonio transformed me into a pool of sweat and tears. Between blasting calories through the not your average treadmill training to the brutal squats and repetitive weight lifting, Bootcamp ensures that no part of your physique is left out. *I measure strength by height of heels and number of kegs - very scientific. Memberships and packages are available or you may try a bootcamp session for $22.

Cool lockless lockers to store your bag.

You guys, don't hesitate; run to a class! I'm currently signed up for a free week trial and I've never felt more comfortable during a (pretty intense) workout class. And feel great about myself! It's a pretty simple set up, you walk in and that one room is all. So it's not as big as other locations, but that's okay because you have all the room you need. There are cubby's for personal item and water fountains (can't remember if there is a bathroom). And then the rest is the workout floor! I recommend researching what makes F45 unique because they have so many different classes. Short and simple, the class is set up in stations and you rotate through them. So you don't have to set anything up or put anything away. There are two personal trainers walking around the room and the demonstration and timer for your station are on a screen in front of you. My biggest ehhh about F45 is that it's all on the screen..cool but I feel like it's a bit of $$$ for a less than personal interaction during my station. Also there is minimal warm up and no cool down. Would love to see a 5 min stretch incorporated. Overall, this location was so welcoming and inviting and pushed me to my limits without me unsafe. Even though your station is on the screen, the trainers were always helpful and helped with form and modifications. Loved coming here and will see what I decide after my free trial!

One of the very first things I noticed about this local business is the fact that they included pronouns of all their instructors directly next to the class name. I thought that was so inclusive and awesome...and to be honest, I have never seen it before in any fitness or yoga class I've ever attended. It says so much to me about their values as a studio. I attended the trauma informed yoga class with Sarah via ZOOM. I really appreciated how easy the studio made it for me to find the link and that the process was seamless. Another thing that attracted me to the studio was that I was astounded with the diversity of experience, education, and the focus on mental and spiritual health that their website explained for instructors. For example, Sarah is a body positive advocate that doesn't believe in diet culture or fatphobia. She has a focus on trauma informed practices and making yoga accessible to all bodies. Her bio online says she has worked with many different organizations as a licensed master social worker. It makes a huge difference when the folks who teach trauma yoga classes actually know what they are doing versus trying to implement something they read in a book. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with the studio, even if my own computer issues did force me to have to log out early (if you're reading this Sarah, sorry about that!) If I find myself near music Row in Nashville I wouldn't hesitate to take another yoga class at this wonderful place.

I found this gym through a long search for trauma informed yoga classes. As of Feb 2022, this gym is the only gym/studio in town that offers these classes and they're once a month on Sunday afternoons. The teacher was good and the class was very chill and low intensity. To attend that class, I bought 14 days for $14. As a first year teacher, I try to get my money's worth out of things so I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and sign up for a class. The gym is a little hard to find your first time depending on where you're coming from, since it's underneath the yoga studio at street level. I came in, nervous and not knowing what to expect. I had signed up for Sweat with Jess, the owner. Sweat is a circuit class, but there's a lot of flexibility on what exercises you actually do. Jess led us in a warm up then explained the first circuit, but I must have looked like a deer in the headlights. She came up to me and quietly asked if I needed some help and I said yes please. She got me some small weights, demonstrated, then stayed with me until I got it. She was fantastic at checking in with me throughout the class in a quiet, respectful way. I've never met a class instructor like her, who was equal parts personable and professional. She was so encouraging, kind, funny, and clearly knew her stuff. It was a good workout, but I really appreciated that she told us to listen to our bodies and do what we needed. The class flew by too, which I have never said about a workout class. I've already signed up for my next class! I cant even put all the amazing things about this gym in a review, partially because my hands are sore from the kettlebell. I highly recommend checking out their website, they have a fantastic vision/ purpose.

I've trained consistently 3 times a week with David Harvick for the last 4 years and not once have I regretted my investment. I reached out to NLF to feel good in my own skin before my wedding and have kept with it because I consistently see both physical and mental benefits from a regular training routine. I have tried a variety of different workout routines but would either get bored or feel like exercise was a chore. Each session with David is different and challenging but with his encouragement, technical knowledge, and warm personality I know that I can keep going (even when I don't want to hop on the tread mill). He goes above and beyond for his clients, including bringing over equipment and writing home workouts during the COVID lockdown so that I could maintain my routine. Although I've seen great physical results, I think what has benefited the most from working with David has been my relationship with food and fitness. After years of obsessing over weight, I have had a mental shift and take pride in being strong and building muscle. I feel confident that I am taking care of myself in the best way possible. Jack and the other trainers at NLF have created a space where people of all ages and fitness levels feel capable and welcome. They don't just care about their own clients, the entire training staff wants to see you grow and accomplish your goals both in and out of the gym. I have worked with a few of the other trainers at the gym as well, and have consistently had top notch training where I would work with any of them again. Whether you are a rookie looking to establish a workout routine or a seasoned pro wanting to prep for an upcoming professional sports season, I am confident that NLF will exceed your expectations.

I highly recommend working with her because of the following: 1) Attention to detail (In 2 sessions she knew exactly what my physical limits were and built workouts to help me learn better form and build my body in a healthy and manageable way) 2) Undivided attention (I never had her look at her phone or talk to someone else during our sessions, she's always 100% attentive to you, and that's something I really appreciate) 3) Nutrition mentoring (I don't eat unhealthy things, but Dallas made me realize foods that were better alternatives and which ones I should stay away from in order to achieve a better workout and achieve the physique I wanted. She'll never shame you for indulging in sweets or carbs either, which I'm definitely grateful for) 4) Knows when you push you and when to rest (I used to always get sick after high intensity workout classes and could never get through group sessions, but Dallas made workouts that challenged me without overextending my body. I always leave Next Level Fitness knowing my body was pushed to its limits in a healthy way) 5) Fun workouts that are engaging and different! (Honestly I would be the last person to say this, but dare I say that workouts now are actually fun?! Whether we're doing floor exercises, stuff on a machine or weights, I never know what's coming next. If you're like me and always wanted to try new things at the gym but didn't know how, Dallas will definitely build your confidence and get you excited about challenging yourself!) Since the first day, the owner Jack has always remembered my name and greets you when you come and when you leave. No matter who's in the gym you always feel so welcomed, which I can't say for anywhere else I've been! For COVID procedures, I felt that they took good precautions to make sure the safety of everyone is prioritized. Next Level Fitness makes sure to have a certain number of people in the gym at all times and the trainer wipes down everything as soon as you've used it. If you prefer the trainer to wear a mask they can. Just some extra brownie points: The gym playlist is ALWAYS poppin' and the bathrooms are SERIOUSLY amazing. The luxurious feel when you step into this gym is unlike any other, which is so weird to say because it's a GYM! You definitely get your money's worth and coming here is absolutely an enjoyable and fun experience, so don't hesitate and try this place out!
