Then when I came to the counter to have my fabric cut and pay, no one moved to help me. I had to speak up and ask "who is going to help me" my friend who was with me, noted how oddly different they were treating a paying customer. While they have great fabric I definitely will not return. It could have been the fact that they most likely are not use to men coming to buy fabric.

I'm talking about "Threads of Tyranny" (or whatever they call themselves). First off, getting in was harder than getting a toddler to eat their vegetables. I swear, they had a velvet rope, a bouncer who looked like he wrestled bears in his spare time, and a questionnaire that asked for my blood type, social security number, and the thread count of my dreams. Apparently, only "industry owners" are worthy of their hallowed halls. I'm pretty sure my grandma, who sews better than most fashion designers, wouldn't have made the cut. Once I finally breached the inner sanctum, I was greeted by prices so high, they could make a billionaire weep. I saw a scrap of lace that was priced like it was woven from unicorn hair and spun by angels. I'm pretty sure I could buy a small island for the cost of their "sale" bin. And the staff? Oh, the staff. They looked like they were auditioning for a remake of "The Stepford Wives," but instead of being robots, they were just...snobby. Asking for help was like pulling teeth from a grumpy badger. I inquired about the difference between two types of cotton, and they looked at me like I'd just asked them to explain quantum physics in Klingon. Honestly, I'm surprised this place hasn't been swallowed by a black hole of pretentiousness. I give them a solid two years, tops, before they're replaced by a discount mattress store or a laser tag arena. Mark my words. If you want fabric that costs more than your rent and service that makes you want to scream into a pillow, "Threads of Tyranny" is your place. If you value your sanity and your wallet, run. Run far, far away.

I was going to purchase my SFX makeup on Amazon but decided to direct buy here. The price on makeup was about the same as Amazon. Maybe a few bucks more or less depending on the item. Either way, to get it same day and from a local small business was a win to me. The best part was the costumer experience. The lady that helped me was more than accommodating and SO helpful. I needed the Dark Knight Joker costume for my 8YO daughter who wears a small in woman's and couldn't find it anywhere. All I could find is really super cheap versions and I really wanted the Velvet real jacket look. Also, I didn't want the sexy-girl version but rather the traditional men's but in woman's sizing. That's a laundry list of wants- I couldn't even find it on Amazon. Well, the stars must have aligned because they had it. The men's traditional, velvet, real, high end Joker but in a woman's size Small! Now that I know this place exists, I will never enter another Spirit Halloween again. Never go to Fudamike Fashion This is why…read more 7 years back, My family and I threw a huge party for my Niece's 1st birthday. We designed special outfits for the occasion And we were so happy with the outcome, from Fudamike Fashion, the material, the fit, the price was fair, everything was perfect. On September 11, 2024 I returned to Fudamike with excitement of a new design for a new special occasion. Because of the results the first time I was sure my expectations would be met a time again. I made a 2nd payment of $2,556.19 at the time. I was so excited to see the results of the outfits I had designed with Addy. She brought out each outfit with a hanger and plastic over as if it had been through the dry cleaners. When I opened the plastic you could immediately see pencil handwriting, coffee stains and dirt stains on each embroidered outfit. Unfortunately the material that was used was not the breathable material we originally spoke on and the color was not the shade of white that we were expecting it to be. With optimism I had at least hoped the fitting would be correct. To our dissatisfaction it was not. Prior to this we had each individual measured from the shoulders to the bust, waist, length of pants. None of the outfits were fitted properly. While criticizing the poor work, Addy the Designer Professionalism went out the window. Rude and angry mishandling the fabric in front of her clients. She was never the most welcoming or polite to begin with, yet I still respected her and her work. But this upsetting situation became worse, as she didn't offer to take the outfits to be cleaned or take accountability for her embarrassing mistakes. I took each outfit from her hands. She rudely asked me "So you know how to sew?" and I said "I will have a different seamstress fix them" she said "this is not my finished work" I replied "it's Okay I will take responsibility from here". I paid the rest of the balance and I took all the outfits from her hands. She took cheap material and overpriced each of the 14 outfits with greed, treated each outfit like garbage, and still demanded payment. She Wasn't considerate of how special they were to me and how much money I paid for this outcome. I was furious. No one should be treated this way. It was disrespectful service. You pay good money for special things in life, you should not go through an experience like this ever. If you spent $8,112.38 is this the presentation you would have expected?

I noticed employees cleaning the floors on their hands and knees, scrubbing manually. While I appreciate the effort to keep the store clean, it felt a bit unusual and outdated--especially in 2026 when there are more efficient and ergonomic cleaning tools available, like mops or other equipment. It also made me think about employee comfort and working conditions. I noticed this while walking by during closing time, and it still felt a bit strange to see that level of manual scrubbing instead of more standard cleaning methods. Overall, I would still recommend this shop for its awesome products and positive vibe. I just hope management considers updating their cleaning practices to something more practical and employee-friendly.
