Jose and his employees provide quality service at an amazing price. We had 4 upholstered dining chairs in which the seats' foam needed replacing. The fabric on the chairs were in good shape and matched our home's décor. We emailed photos of one chair to both Jose and another upholsterer. The other upholsterer told us he couldn't just replace foam, he had to reupholster the chairs at a cost of $350-$550 a chair. Jose emailed me back that he could just replace the foam; he estimated around $45 a chair. We took two chairs to ABC. After inspecting the chairs, Jose told us it would cost a little more, $60 a chair. He said the chairs would be done in a week, however, they were ready in two days. We dropped off the remaining chairs today. We are extremely satisfied! His employees replaced the foam and repaired the bottom lining plus did a light cleaning. These 7-year-old chairs were almost like new! ABC employees were very helpful and polite. They unloaded the chairs to be repaired and loaded the chairs. This business does both car and furniture upholstery. Their location is a large workshop, not a fancy storefront. We will spend $240 instead of over $1200 plus get exactly what we wanted! So, we decided to refresh our quilted headboard and footboard after ten years of use and many abusive cat claws. We had three bids and decided on ABC Discount because of the yelp reviews. We met with Jose and picked out a swatch of Mulberry velour. He said he had to order it and it would take a week to get them another week for the work. No problem. My husband picked up the bed today and rather than a nice subtle mulberry velour it is a straight up Grimace Grape micro suede. I had a great experience with this company. Jose was fast at getting back to me with a quote, which I really appreciated. I uploaded a picture of my ugly, green chair so that he could give me the most accurate quote possible. His price was affordable and fair. He offered to pick up the chair for an additional small fee, but I opted to lug the thing down to his shop myself. I can't believe how fast his service was! If I hadn't have been out of town, I would have been able to pick up the finished chair 2 days after I dropped it off! When I eventually did pick it up, I couldn't have been happier with the results. The office chair was transformed from a nasty green (with sagging fabric from years of wear) to a pretty cream color with tight, like-new fabric I provided from Joanne's. I encountered the unfortunate circumstance of my car being broken into and a gasoline filled water bottle thrown in the back seat which ended up ruining the headliner, 2 head rests, rear middle seat, plastic moulding, rubber door trims, handle bars, and of course blackening the whole interior of my car (which was really difficult to scrub out). I agonized over keeping my vehicle or relinquishing it to my insurance. I love my car dearly, it has a clean history with no major mechanical issues and couldn't bear the thought of losing the battle to some pathetic degenerate in Vegas. So, I did research for two months and became really distraught in the process since my vehicle is a 2003 Mazda Protege 5 and production had stopped for them back in the year I had purchased it. As it turned out, I wasn't able to find any of the parts or order them online. After speaking to many body shop individuals, some suggestion for having my car reupholstered was an idea since I couldn't find the rear seat anywhere (I even went back for a visit to CA and found a shop that had the rear seat, but to my dismay it was gone by the time I arrived). I happened upon Yelp where I contacted three shops for quotes and one called Mendoza was outrageous ($1,200 for the rear seat and 2 head rests). ABC Discount was my last stop for the day of driving around for estimates. Jose was shocked to see what had happened, but with optimism stated he could replace the crispy headliner, reupholster the head rests and rear seat, plus wrap the sun visors. Jose said he would even install the plastic moulding if I found any, as well as trim the trunk floor mat, at no charge. Wow, what? He quoted me $550 which was amazing! After he quickly wrote the estimate, he said it could be done in a few days and I replied with needing a few days to ponder on it (I needed to find rides or use a friend's car). Luckily after doing repeated searches for junk yards I managed to find one at Nevada Pic-a-Part in North Las Vegas that had -one- really jacked up Protege. I was ecstatic! So, I ripped out the plastic moulding within, rubber trim, handle bars and a rear seat belt to leave with Jose after deciding to relinquish my car in his care. It ended up taking a week, which was unfortunate given that some plans were altered in the process for people I had visiting from out-of-town, but I let it go. I was just thankful to have him repair what others couldn't/wouldn't. Finally the day had come for me to pick up the "Phoenix" as a coworker dubbed it. I was thrilled at how it turned out! No more charred interior odor (although it smelled like chemicals haha), but it I was very pleased with it. When the time came to pay, he said it was $636 and I questioned why that was. Evidently he had reupholstered the driver head rest which I didn't ask for since it wasn't badly burned, but ultimately I was glad he did anyway. With that being said, he dropped the price to $600 which I appreciated. I would recommend his place to anyone who needed reupholstery work. I felt he was honest and fair with his pricing. I visited ABC Discount Upholstery to get a custom motorcycle seat pan upholstered and they exceeded my expectations. Charged me 3x their posted rate and didn't fix the seat. I asked how much it would cost to fix my car seat, Jose said it would take 5 hours and $200 should cover it. The job took 1 hour, their sign says $65/hour, and they still billed me for 3x the price. Me: Are you going to adjust the estimate because it only took one hour? Jose: No, you said $200 was okay. Me: That was an estimate. Your sign clearly says $65/hour, that took 1 hour. Jose: I could have told them to take their time and make it longer. He actually said that. He was proud of himself for NOT telling them to do a bad job, like that's an accomplishment. And their place is a wreck.
