I went into Heddy's Fabrics hoping I would find what I needed in order to make Christening gowns for my twin granddaughters. Lynn, the sales associate, was so helpful!! Sister was looking for fabric for a show but didn't find the right stuff at Joann. We were directed to Heddy's by a lady manning the Singer section in Joann. Heddy's has really great fabric and trims, buttons and embellishments. Heddy's is also on the pricey side, $35/yard pricey, but well worth it as some of the items cannot be found at your local craft supply or fabric mart. (see my photos) Though sister did not find anything that fit the show theme, I found $$ worth of lace and fabric. Tons of free, private lot parking, adjacent to Moon Valley Nurseries. read more

Nice fabric stores with some very unique and fancy. The ladies work there were helpful. 2 of them had asked me if I needed any help. One went all the way to show me where they kept different kinds of laces I was looking for. I ended buying a couple yards of fabric and lace. Good prices too. Plenty of parking space and not too far from Chinatown, only about 10 minutes drive. I only an out of town visitor, however won't mind coming back to visit if I in town and looking for fabrics. read more

I have been a customer of Heddy's Fabrics for years. The staff provide a great customer service and if you are looking for something special from a fabric store and you do not find it at Heddy's, forget it, it probably doesn't exist. This week I was looking for a stretch fabric to make bracelets for a dance dress. The color is very unusual and hard to match. The gentleman who helped me to find something appropriated walked the entire store trying to match my sample. He finally found something suitable. He took the time knowing that if I would find it, I would buy only one quarter of yard. Is it a superb customer service or what. I absolutely adore this fabric store! It is my oasis in the Vegas desert and when I'm working on a project the first place I stop. My most recent trip was to gather supplies for Halloween costumes, I made a Snow White inspired look for myself and a Peter Pan style top for my brother. After quickly perusing some of the one star reviews credited to Heddy's I wanted to set the record straight and present a rebuttal to their unfair attacks. Hat's off to Heddy's for maintaining a clean, organized and thoughtfully curated store. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable always reminding me to gather my notions (thread, specialty needles, and closures) which has saved me a lot of time and frustration. I appreciate that the prices are clearly listed on all the fabrics, trims and miscellaneous items so there are no surprises at the register. Currently, like every other business in the valley, masks are required to enter the store. I appreciate this precaution and that the ladies of Heddy's maintain the standard. This is a wonderful shop to find inspiration and gather necessary supplies for small or large projects. Sewing is a passion, so I've been to fabric stores all over the world. This one is very reminiscent of Gail K in Atlanta or several medium-sized wonders in LA's Garment District. The hugest downside is that they're the only one of their kind in town. Stopped in twice over the course of 2 days and wasn't greeted or helped either time. Kind of a bummer when you're spending over $80 bucks on one piece of fabric. Doesn't seem like the "customer service" light pops on until it's time to cut unless they already know you. I totally get the draw to this place. They have what you need in the color of your dreams. You will pay a pretty penny for said color and dreams. Bottom line. If JoAnn had an evil, well-dressed stepsister, Heddy's is her. Don't expect to meet your new bestie on staff here. Just go in with solid ideas, empty your whole wallet, measure thrice, cut once, and make something brilliant. read more

They have what no other fabric store has. Love this fabric store! I originally went in to replace a missing button on an expensive jacket. I couldn't find a match anywhere. (Tried JoAnnes, and even Walmart). Heddys had the exact match. They even sell the button individually so I didn't have to buy the whole card. I've since gone back to purchase sequins to repair a Holiday gown and also pastilles trim. Very helpful staff! read more

When my daughter was a teenager we could not find a prom dress to her liking. She was adamant she did not want anyone else to have the dame or similar gown. She sketched a picture of a style she wanted. A friend had done seamstress work and told me about Heddy's. It occurred to me to encourage my daughter's possible interest in clothes design. We went to Heddy''s and my daughter instantly found a fabric she liked. She showed the her sketch of the style she wanted and her vision became a reality with the help of Heddy and her staff. Heddy and staff were so helpful my daughter felt like a celebrity. Experiences like this are positive and inspiring to young people. This was 30 years ago and I am glad to see Heddy's Fabrics is still around. To this day my daughter considers being able to design her own gown a highlight in her life. read more

The fabrics are great and they had a selection of patterns that I was looking for. The three stars are because a woman working there rubbed me entirely the wrong way. I walked in and immediately found the patterns I was looking for, but wanted to walk around, look at items I may need, and feel other fabrics... so I did. I could feel eyes on me but I continued and went back to my select fabrics, took a picture of some, pulled others in my arms because I wanted to buy them. This woman approached and asked if I was ok, I said yes, she insisted on taking two bolts of fabric from me, and I obliged even though I was fine. When I was done perusing I approached the counter and she told me the price of each yard as if I could not read the prices blatantly on each bolt. I wouldn't have allowed her to take the fabrics had I not been ready to buy them. As she cut my lengths she told me they need to be washed first as if I was not aware of this either. It felt like a low-key chastisement, I was annoyed then. I pay for my fabrics and go. In retrospect this could be nothing, but I believe this woman saw that I appeared to be younger than anyone else in the store, and a POC and decided to be judgmental in these subtle, microaggresive, way. We went here to find some fabric for our windows. We built a pantry in front of a window so wanted to fill the window in with fabric. We extremely disappointed at the customer service. The owner was extremely rude not even a welcome, smile, anything. I have seen other reviews of the same experience. We left, will not return and cannot recommend. read more

This was a second chance first impression visit to pick up fabric... I walked in and great they offer hand sanitizer as soon as you walk in. BUT that is where the niceties end. I walked up to the counter ( I greeted the two sales ladies, they did not greet me) and asked for the fabric I was looking for and immediately told "No", not that is not available or can I find you an alternative, just "No". I promptly left and will not return there even if the are the only store to carry the fabric I need. It is sad that I had two bad visits and now will never be back. read more

I am a fish out of water in this kind of store and despite being fairly busy I was helped with patience and given potential solutions to problems.... all of which involved missing G beads from evening gowns that could be exactly replaced. The solution was an assortment of crystal buttons that look like beads and quite a bit of cash out of pocket... but who wants cheap plastic bling on a new expensive dress! Heddy's is a fabric store adventure! This fabric store is as good as it can get in LV. It's not the garment district, which I'm accustomed to from back home however this is the go to place for buttons fabric what have you;) Excellent fabrics, not what would you find in those chain stores. Here at Heddy's they sell better quality fabrics and buttons. Don't pass up on something which catches your eye, because if you return someone else will have snatched it up! I came here looking for some replacement buttons and OH MY- indecisive O became;) this place can become a sort of addiction! The tailor I use will not be thrilled with me and the tasks I'm going to present her with;) nah, She is pretty awesome. Now, back to Heddy's... The sales staff is knowledgeable and maneuvering around the store is simple. Try have a section for bridal, it's near those buttons which I couldn't help myself if that area. Listen, buttons with crystals and what have you. Yes, I purchased more than I initially intended, so I'm off to the tailor tomorrow! I was looking for picot elastics but if you're looking for materials, they have a fabulous selection! Having to drive across town to get here, not such a good thing especially when you have been told this place has everything. I suggest that you call ahead if you want something that is specific. It's one of the best fabric stores I've seen in years, and reminds me of the fabric stores in the garment district in NY I used to go to as a fashion design student in the 90's. Heddy's has gorgeous fabric and pretty much anything you nee to make some sort of garment or costume. However, I find the place to be ridiculously overpriced. The first time I went in, I thought the prices marked on their rolls of fabric HAD to be for the whole roll because the prices for their spandex fabrics are marked for over 20 bucks PER YARD. Are you serious? I know I can't really compare this place to the fashion district in L.A. where I get the same fabric for $5 a yard (at most), but even at Jo-Anns or Hancock Fabric, I can get some of the same material for around $8/yard with their weekly coupons. This place is definitely nice to browse around because they have very nice fabric, but I think the only thing I'd ever buy here would be their remnant pieces. read more

I recently picked up sewing and I was highly recommended buying fabrics from this location. And it didn't disappoint! I was warmly greeted and assist with multiple different fabric. The staff was very friendly and wanted to help with my project. She gave me tips on how to my first cosplay. I personally am hard to pleased but this place went on and beyond.
