The original quote was competitive and since Blueline's service came from a trusted referral I had a feeling we would be in good hands. We knew that the original quote would go higher, because we knew we had some damage under our carpets. Andrew was an excellent communicator and always was up front with costs and realistic as to what choices we should be considering. His crew was very professional, always on time, and very hard workers. I had concerns about the sealer and Andrew was very knowledgeable about the most current trends in low VOC products and helped guide me to make a choice to use a water-based polyurethane. We are SOO happy! Our neighbors recently had their floors refinished and we could smell the odors from across the yard weeks later. With the product we used the house just a very minor odor just a few days from completion of the remodel. Can't wait to post a few photos! We went with a very matte/natural look ... and LOVE IT!!!

This is a very delayed review- I had my hardwood floors redone by Peninsula Floors last year, but I…read morestill find myself thinking about the experience so I decided it might be helpful to others to share. The bottom line is that the bulk of the work was good, I'm overall satisfied with the results, and am glad that we got the floors refinished. However, there were several details about the experience that would make me hesitate to recommend Peninsula to friends or others looking to redo their floors. - I was initially quoted ~7-8 working days to redo the floors. The initial work actually took closer to 13 working days, and it took another 7 working days on top of that to complete followup items after I reviewed the initial work. To be fair, I was traveling for about 5 of those working days during some of the initial work and probably caused a bit of delay in my own responses being slow, but I also don't think that all of the delay was due to myself. - When provided stain samples, I was initially provided the wrong names corresponding to the samples. This was only noticed because I asked for another set of samples in another area of the house and was confused as to why the colors varied so much, and asked about it- otherwise it's very possible I would have selected a completely different color than what I intended. - There was some damage done by the sander to our metal stair railing, which they did patch up with paint, but it's still visible where the damage was. Also, initially only some of the stairs in the home had the scotia trim replaced- when I asked the ones where the previous paint clearly showed they also used to have trim, they just added it to all of the stairs regardless of which ones did or didn't have it before. There was also a tricky area in a closet that I said I would be okay not refinishing, and instead it was sanded but not refinished due to not being able to get into that area- I would have just preferred the initial topcoat wasn't removed in that case, because that area is now just unprotected wood. None of these details were mentioned to me or provided as project updates until I asked about them. - Lastly, after I had sent the final payment through, I realized some of our doorstops were missing after having been removed from the trim to not get in the way of the sanders. I asked where the team may have left them so I could reattach them and got no response. It's not a big deal, they were less than $5, but later, after moving in, I also asked about if there were cleaning/maintenance products they would recommend and also got no response. Being completely ghosted after having dealt with some of the difficulties mentioned above really left me feeling like they totally wrote me off as a customer and was not a pleasant way to end the project. I think they do decent work, but I suspect they're a bit stretched thin and smaller/less important jobs are not supervised as much and don't seem like they have the same quality bar. If I were to do it again, I feel like I would have been happier supervising more closely from the start. Edit- I appreciate Juan's response (below and privately), however I do want to make clear that not everything was addressed as I was told they would be. For example, for the incompletely sanded and unfinished area of the closet I mentioned above, I was told it would at least have some form of finish applied, which never happened. There were a few other details like this, but at some point it was no longer worth my time to chase them down especially as we were getting close to our move in which we initially thought we would have far more buffer for.

Betty was incredibly patient; she pulled out sample after sample for me to look at, ordered samples mailed to me at home, and never lost her smile. I visited the showroom at least three or four times and she was always helpful. The crew, Abel, Cesar, and Lucio, came right on time and their work was completed quickly and thoroughly. Our job consisted of pulling up rooms of old carpet as well as an old kitchen hardwood floor, and replacing it all with 3/4" engineered wood from a Canadian company called Mirage. Elite's quote for materials and labor was not the most expensive nor the least, but when going through our house, Aleksey thought of questions, spotted issues, AND thought of solutions that no one else had asked about or even noticed. He was also the only one who told us that he could carefully remove our elaborate wooden baseboards without breaking most or all of them. Every other place simply said we would likely need to replace it all. As a result, their pricing was actually lower than anyone else if you take into account the cost we saved by not having to replace one single piece of baseboard. He was meticulous, measuring three times before ordering materials just to make sure he got the numbers right. Installation went smoothly and included work like grinding down areas of our foundation that were not smooth, moisture testing, coating of the slab with a moisture barrier, etc. They also made sure they installed the wood in a manner that will allow the kitchen appliances to be removed without damaging the floor, when the time comes that they need to be replaced. Again, no one else we spoke with even mentioned any of this. There were transitions between floorings of some rooms that were at different heights. For some of the areas, Aleksey did not care for the off the shelf transitions that companies sell. Instead, he and his crew crafted their own transition pieces & thresholds that looked beautiful and did the job. Far more elegant and unintrusive. They did the same for the transitions between stone surrounding fireplaces and one bathroom. Everything was carefully thought through. The guys showed up at 8 AM and sometimes worked until 5 or 6 pm if they were trying to get certain things done. They were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, polite and cleaned up after themselves. Communication with Aleksey was always good. Elite Hardwood & Flooring is not simply an installation company. Never again. Small…read morekitchen project was a nightmare. We started last Thursday 10/16/25. We were told it's a one day project (kitchen is approx 106 sqft) Took the day off moved appliances only for the job to not be completed. Missing transition pieces. They come back the next day (another day we took off from work- we both work out of the house). Pieces that were brought were clearly the wrong color. I feel like they were trying to make a quick fix we didn't agree to those pieces when finally someone admits to their wrong doing (they never ordered the transition pieces in the first place). right pieces are order but won't be here until Tuesday. So we wait another 4 days. Upon further inspection over the weekend I notice toe kicks weren't replaced correctly their uneven and off set. I notice chalking everywhere and just crappy work. We brought it to their attention and on day 6 it was semi corrected. But we are going to have to re do at our time and cost all of the toe kicks and quarter rounds. Back to Tuesday 10/ 22/25. Wrong pieces again with no solution but to come back Thursday. Thursday they bring new pieces but it still looks terrible. They're a flooring company. Better solutions should be available. Other pet peeevs. They left my garage a mess duand garbage on the side of my house never picked. We ended up dumping it on our garbage day. We are underwhelmed and so frustrated. Save your time. Go else where. Attached are pictures of all of the work that is currently damaged or falling apart. It's going to cost us to get it fixed plus and time. The finishing work matters to us

They put up plastic sheeting to keep the dust from the sanding contained, so we had no mess. They were extremely professional and I don't know how they were able to sand and every inch of the floor without damaging the base boards. In addition to having the floors refinished, we had them install a pre-made wood medallion in the floor that we bought through them. It looks fantastic. In addition, the job was a good price. If you need wood floors refinished, you can't go wrong with Live Oak Hardwood fllors.

I wish I got more updates during construction but they sent them whenever I asked. I liked that they were very contentious about talking with my neighbor when their van was blocking a little bit of their driveway--a lot of contractors wouldn't bother. I also had another neighbor who was causing some issues and they kept me in the loop, which I appreciated. - Price: I talked to several contractors and their price was pretty reasonable--not the lowest nor the highest, more in the middle. Cons: - After construction, I noticed some damage on parts that were supposed to be protected. They were minor damages, but annoying. The most noticeable one was a dent on my TV, which left a white dot that I see every time I turn on my TV, which sucks. - In terms of details, I noticed that there were some dings in pretty noticeable parts of the wood. I don't know if it was the crew or the wood came like that, but when I was testing a wood sample before purchasing, I hit the wood with a hammer and it didn't leave a mark, so it would take a lot of force to leave a dent like the one pictured. Kinda disappointing because the dent is smack in the middle of a high traffic area. Some last notes: - David came by to do a final walk through and helped me move some of the heavier furniture back. It didn't bother me but if you're expecting furniture to be put back the way it was originally, you'll want to manage your expectations. - You should definitely hire painters and cleaners after the construction--I didn't think the walls were going to be as scuffed up as they were. And everything will be superrrr dusty, even if it's covered. - When I expressed concern about not all baseboards being replaced, which I thought was the scope of work, he explained that he told his crew to use existing baseboards when possible. He said he did this to save me some cost and offered me $150 to cover the savings. I generally feel positive about this, although if I hadn't mentioned it I don't think it would've come up, so take that for what it's worth.
