Since We established a great customer relationship, Mike has been kind enough to check in once a while to make sure everything was working alright. Lately the door had been making the "machine-gun-like" noise. Mike took a look and said to me: "It's time!". On the next day, Mike showed up on time with all the tools/parts he needed. Since my garage door is in between 7' and 8' standards, he brought extra parts to ensure everything will fit. Mike also double checked all the existing parts were secured. If not, he put in extra screws just to be sure. Which I really appreciate! I watched him replaced the entire unit quickly with great organization. We had some light hearted chats about families and the current pandemic while he did the installation. Then he cleaned up the floor and helped setting up all the controllers, plus downloading the app into my phone. Overall, I'm still very happy with Mike's work. He's reliable, responsive and great to work with. I paid 550 for my new garage opener, and I find the price very reasonable. I have, and will recommend Mike to anyone I know!

It is still strange to me that a customer would have to point out problems like things not being square, and wires electrical wires hand wound together with painters tape over them rather than that being an obvious sign of subpar work. But I appreciate the company's initiative to get in touch and try to get things fixed. It is now an acceptable job. Review revised to 3 stars-- 4 stars for the quality of work minus 1 for not getting it right the first time. Good: - quick response time - friendly technician. though I believe this job was contracted out to another company. - company reached out to fix initial issues Bad: - initial install took a really long time - quality of the initial install was subpar. though they did send the tech back to address the issues. - company only accepts cash or credit card with fee for payments - I believe my job was contracted out to somebody else, so I did not get the same techs that everyone else in the reviews are raving about. Original review (please see update above): Called this company to get a garage door opener installed-- I already had all the parts and had the rail-motor-belt assembled, garage pre-wired, and garage door installed. The person on the phone said they will get a guy to give me a call and then come out to give me a quote. I got the call and got the visit for the next day scheduled shortly after. It seems like this job was just contracted out to some general handyman contractors and the person answering the phone was working for two different companies because she asked which garage door company i was calling for. The guy quoted me $350 which is quite steep to bolt a rail and motor to the ceiling and hook up the sensors and switch. But I figured he'd do it quicker than me so I can have the rest of the day to go out. Boy was I wrong. I expected this to be a 1-2 hour job be he took all day and needed to leave in the middle to go to other jobs and return. The quality of the work was terrible (see photos). I requested a redo on some of the more egregious stuff but the end result is still pretty bad. The garage door was finally working by 5:30pm after the job started before noon. He also said they only take cash or credit card, and so I had to pay $362 after a 3% credit card fee. There was also supposed to be a 90 day warranty but I was not issued any documentation of this other than a note in the invoice I was emailed (see attached). There are also a bunch of greasy hand prints left all over my finished ceiling and bits of metal and wrappers all over the floor-- though that is just a minor complaint compared to the appalling workmanship. In hind sight, I should have inspected the work more closely before paying, but it was dark/late and I was tired and just wanted it to be done. I feel that Ive been scammed, not sure how so many others have had good experiences with this company.

We had an electric garage door opener installed, and during the first year, it malfunctioned- it…read moresuddenly stopped working, with the door stuck open. A repair person came out, and repaired it. Months later, it happened again- but this time the door rapidly opened, so fast it permanently bent the door and shattered a window in the door. We called, and Sears was not open that day for service. We had to pay to have someone come out, because otherwise we would've been leaving our garage door stuck wide open. When this person came out to get the door to shut for us, they informed us that Sears did the installation wrong- that the power of opener and size/weight of our door was not the correct match, and that a strut was required for what was used. The person said that the improper choice is what caused the malfunctions and breaking our door. Sears informed us they were not liable, and would cover none of the costs. So, we were left with a garage door opener (which we paid Sears for), and now we have to buy and pay for installation of a new garage door. Due to the poor installation and poor service, I cannot recommend.
