Never in my life have I been treated so condescendingly at an establishment. As they were ringing up the items, I noticed they were charging a higher price than what was on the tag. I queried them about it and they said they ran out of the correct price tag and I was going to be charged the higher price. I asked them if they would honor the price tag that was clearly on the item and they said they would not. Furthermore, they got snippy with me demanding if I buy the product now or leave! I left... This type of establishment does not deserve to be on this nice street in this beautiful city with these amazing people. On the whole I love H&M and their values when it comes lgbtq+ equality. But I had a poor customer experience in the old town king street store. I had over 200$ of merchandise in my hands and found myself in need of a restroom. I found them downstairs and they were locked, not surprisingly. I found a team member and asked if I could get in and was told they are for employees only and I'd need to leave the store and go to Starbucks. Expensive bathroom H&M. Can you afford to give up a lot of 200$ + sales to keep your bathroom employees only? Very disappointed and won't be returning to this store. read more

My friend and I came here on a Sunday just to browse around. The day that we went they had a sign up stating if you download the h&m app you will receive 20% off one item. I didn't see the sign when we walked in. I went to the register to pay for my shoes, I had 2 pair. The guy at the register asked did I have my cellphone, I was like yes. He said download our app real quick and I can give you 20% off a pair of your shoes. I downloaded that app so fast lol. His customer service was amazing. He had a line full of people and he still told me about the app. He could of just rushed me out in order to get the line down, but he didn't do that. I also overheard the other cashiers telling the customers to download the app. The customer service here was amazing. I will definitely go back. read more

It has been a minute since I have been passing through H&M. I actually need to Ask Jeeves what H&M stands for.* But that's something I'll do later. This trip was one that I actually packed for. Whether H&M is recycling clothes to cut down on their carbon footprint or seeming charting trends and styles as I believe, I don't know for sure. I haven't done too much research. I do know that for a tied bag of clothes donated you get a coupon and you get a coupon. So now for the particulars...por fín. I have never been to this H&M outpost but I dug it as soon as I entered. I didn't remember seeing security which usually has me confused because I want to speak but I don't want them to watch me for speaking. Shopping ain't easy for everyone. So this H&M was cool. So this is where all the youngns are getting their NASA clothes. More importantly clothes weren't "jumpin' jumpin'" off the racks which seems like it should always be the case but no.@ Also, clothes weren't on the floor and oddly, there wasn't any music playing. Surely this was probably an error but either way, it gave the store a swanky vibe that I never felt in an H&M. After depositing my clothes in the bin by the register, the cashier gave me a coupon, painlessly. I don't know bout you but I always need socks. Never athletic socks, socks. So that makes me a sock snob shopping at H&M with a coupon, ham I am--going. So, I found the socks and before I started picking them out I noticed that my coupon had expired--months ago. So that made me anxious thinking about if they would accept it and if I could get this three for whatever dealio. Everything worked out well my friend. I with three pairs of socks, satisfied with my experience at H&M. I'm on the prowl for some new digs (see how hip I am?) and decided to stop in the new H&M in Old Town. Visually this place is amazing. Bright lights, clean displays, security guards, two stories, and of course the clothes. It feels like you're on your own personal runway. However, if you're plus size, don't go looking for anything interesting. All the plus size women's clothing is a little bland. It feels as though the clothes were made with scraps of their regular line. I found a dress I really liked but it had a small hole in the back and the cashier said the best she could do was 10% off---which was the equivalent of $3.56 and told me to take it to a tailor to have it fixed. I refused this laughable offer. When I asked what would happen now that I had spotted the hole in it, she said "It'll go back on the shelf until someone buys it." So buyers beware---check all clothing for defects before buying. The dressing rooms in this place were super small and the staff's assistance is nearly non-existent. I actually ended up returning everything I purchased just because it all seemed too boring for my wardrobe. read more

I've had a good experience here. I shop here seasonally, and the store always has good deals, helpful staff, and open dressing rooms. The line is never more than 5 minutes long when checking out. I recently bought a new pair of jeans here, that got a mystery stain after first time washing, and I use no bleach, so no clue where it came from, and they allowed me to return / replace the pair. I'm always amazed by just how rude people can be, and this H&M was no exception. The changing room music in the kids section was so loud we couldn't hear our kid talking to us. When nicely asked Logan to turn it down was told not possible, when asking to turn it off, also not possible. Logan was very flat, unfriendly, crossed the fence into rude. As did his friend Jose on checkouts, who told my husband there wasn't a public restroom in the store and he would have to go over the street. Asked the same question of a female colleague 5 mins later, and was kindly shown the way to the bathroom. Honestly, the place was worse than mean girls... by the men! As an update, I just complained to customer service and it was clear I was talking to a computer with canned programmed responses. Don't waste your time. read more

Hello Yelpers, The reason I'm writing this review is to possibly help someone else who might go here for an exchange and end up confused and disappointed. I purchased a pair of jeans from another H&M location 2 days prior but they did not fit well so I looked up a location from where I was and this store came up. So I get there and the cashier said I could not exchange them for another because it wasn't from their store and I had no receipt but the the tag and sticker was still on it. The clothing section was pretty good, although the selection was quite small. When checking out, the worker somehow to charge two of the items and did not place them in the bag although we were the only customers. I'm very disappointed since I really liked the two pieces of clothing I had picked; this worker was irresponsible and did not meet my expectations. I've never encountered a situation like this before. Unfortunately, I did not check the bag until I had left the establishment and would caution those to do so before leaving the store. read more

Customer service was terrible here! I'm so surprised this can fly here... or anywhere. The employee- who I later discovered was actually the manager was dismissive, rude, and not at all helpful. In our brief interaction, she was able to lose a sale and a customer by her lack of customer service alone. What a shame, because the clothes are cute! I wouldn't normally feel compelled to rate a clothing store on here, but their customer service was atrocious. If you can duck in there and find what you need on your own without interacting with an employee, that's the way to go. read more

Walked in and the two women at the counter looked at me like I had two heads and offered a half-ass "good morning." While I'm browsing, other people walk in the store and they were a lot cheerier with them, also telling them about the sale which I hadn't received. Additionally, the selections were terrible. Safe to say that I'm never coming here again. There are better thrift stores in the area with much better customer service. read more

So I can't give too many stars because after I waited in line for five minutes, give or take, I could not pay for my stuff because I didn't have an ID on me. My fault but I think the cashier could have called my credit card company. Embarrassed, indeed. That said, the security guard helped me put my items into a shopping bag, and an associate/cashier/employee helped me track down a sweater. The guy working in the dressing room yesterday was nice too and cleared out a dressing room so I didn't have to wait and he told me to have a nice day after I left. I want to give more than 3 stars but in addition to the payment issue, the store and other H&M stores, feel hot and the items are crammed in their locations. There's something about this H&M that rubs me the wrong way. I generally LOVE H&M and I was super excited to find out that there was one in Old Town! The location is very convenient, but that's about it for this place... It's always SO messy when I come in. I've been here on different days, at different times, and there's always clothes (and sometimes trash) on the ground; the clothing racks are overstuffed and unorganized; the display tables never have folded clothes. I'll see a few employees walking around on the floor and they always seem to be doing something, so I'm not sure why it's chronically messy. There are always a bunch of people here. And a lot of them seem to be European tourists. It's not crowded to the point where you can't move, but you do occasionally bump into people or have to wait while someone moves out of the way. This spills over into the lines for dressing rooms and checking out. I've always been in a line of at least 5+ people and had to wait more than 10 minutes. I don't know why they have two registers when I've only ever seen them use the second one once. The top floor is for women's wear, as is some of the bottom level. The bottom floor is primarily for men's clothing. My boyfriend liked the selection of men's clothing at this location (it's a lot bigger than a lot of other fast fashion stores in the area) but I'm not impressed by the women's selection. Then again, I'm used to my H&M locations being 4 floors, so anything else seems a bit small to me. I came here looking for work clothes, and they do have *some* selection. However, it's not that great. I found Potomac Mills to have the best work clothes selection, but that's a bit of a drive. I took a look at the regular clothes also (because I needed versatile clothes as well!) but nothing was really working for me. However, it's a good thing that they change their stock so often because I'm sure I'll find something that I like. read more

The staff here is absolutely the nicest most helpful group of people I've ever met! My experience started as I needed help finding a different size in almost EVERY item I had pulled. I had my father find an associate to assist me so that I could continue trying on the remaining items I had in the fitting room. Dijon came over immediately with a smile. He was delightful. He explained that he was new to the store but would be glad to help search for anything I needed. And help he did! That man ran ALL over the store for me! As did the other young lady, Leslie. She was also wonderful. She called other stores to attempt to find matching pants to the suit I had fallen in love with. This staff are so friendly! Jose who rang me up was very patient even though a line was gathering as I was checking out he did not rush me or anyone else. Good staff deserves recognition! Well done to you all ... H&M - King St. Old Town - Men's Clothing Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

Compared to other H&Ms like downtown DC, NYC, London etc. this one is somewhat small and messy. But I'm just happy to see an H&M in Old Town. I got lucky and found three pairs of jeans that fit pretty well - in three different sizes, but who cares about consistency - and they were even on sale. The only problem is that they are on the long side but that's something that I usually expect. I ended up with three jeans and two pairs of shoes for a little over $100. You can't beat that! I received good service from the fitting room girl, check out guy, and even the nice security guard at the front. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

I actually really like this location of H&M. I have been to the one at Union Station and the one downtown and I always feel like both are such a cluster. So if you are the type of person that wants the sales people to say hello to you, don't bother coming here. They don't bother doing that and don't offer assistance unless you ask. Am I completely weird but that's kind of what I like when I'm shopping? I love clothes, absolutely hate shopping though, and really don't enjoy feeling like I'm being followed around by employees that may or may not be seeking that commission (Express is the absolute worst in this respect). The store is clean, well-organized, and is, IMO, a good bang for your buck on a lot of options. Cute summer dress for $9.99? Why, yes, I'll take 2. Floral romper that is not up my tuchus (yes, that's to you Forever 21) for $12.99? Don't mind if I do! Basic T-shirts 2 for $10-what a steal when I want to just be casual! A multitude of colored shorts that are well-fitting (aka acceptable length for a 30 year old) for $12.99? I'll take 3, please! I used to adore Forever 21, but the last few times I've gone in I haven't found anything acceptable for anyone over the age of 21, which is unfortunate because I still have a $50 gift card I need to use. I've realized that H&M is kind of akin to the "grown up" version of Forever 21-I still want to look cute, but I want to be taken seriously too. By the way, the matching pant/jacket sets here and many of the blouses are perfect for work, internship, etc. My only gripe about the store actually is that it is not closer. If I want to go here (and not drive) I really have to devote at least 2 hours of my time for metro +shopping and who has 2 hours to do that regularly? Maybe it's a good thing though because if it were easier for me to get to, I would be here at least every 2 weeks and have more clothes than I could possibly ever wear in my lifetime. read more

I love h&m it's my go to store since forever21 isn't cutting it anymore. Of course I find better clothings online but I like to come to the store just in case I might miss it online. Love shopping here, the only reason it's not 5 stars because the store is always hot! Even during the summer time, they don't make the store cold enough because the lighting inside is already heating up the store, the heat outside is cooler than shopping in here. But then again this isn't the first and only store in VA that don't have nice Cooling AC all year around. That's why if you plan to shop here, make it fast, skip trying on clothes and come back to exchange it. read more

So, it's a little small, but beautiful inside. (However, there were racks everywhere of clothing that seem to be for putting clothes back.) I was a little upset that they don't have larger sizes for men, but I was able to find a few outfits for a decent price. Their Sales are awesome. The staff was friendly and nice, and I was really happy that a tall gentlemen with dark hair ,smiled, and asked if i was finding everything ok! He also helped me pick out some dress shirts. I was pleased, as I have not encountered that in any of the H&Ms I've been to, except when I sought them out. The line compared to all the other H&M's was small and I only waited a few minutes. The cashier, a blond lady with a nose ring, smiled and told me about this clothes recycling program that they have in which I get a coupon for donating clothes! Awesome! This place does not deserve a star-I gave them one because of their air conditioning. I would take my money elsewhere. Assuming you want good customer service. My daughter and I were shopping, and after my experience, we left with no purchases. I am older, and requested to use the bathroom. For a very urgent request, they were very rude.They first were very concerned I would steal, and when I offered to let them escort me, they said no. When I asked to speak to the manager, he was not brave enough to come out of his office. I heard him tell the register attendant, on the phone, "tell her the bathrooms are out of service". He, and maybe many others, may think this is a small deal. Until you are the one begging to not have an embarrassing incident. Pathetic!!!!!! I wonder- do they discriminate against mothers with small children? Against older people? Disabled? People who do not look a certain image? All of those, I think. Further, if they were that concerned with stealing---there were zero staff downstairs. And only 2 staff upstairs. I could have taken anything and no one around. Great clothes, great prices, and the store is laid out very nicely. The dressing room attendant was super nice. But the woman at the cash register was slow, and very chatty with the person she was serving. She didn't seem to notice that people were waiting in line to pay. I gave up and left. This is my first review on Yelp. I live near this H&M and would like to see it succeed as a business, because it's nice to have these clothes and great prices nearby. I've been visiting H&M stores since I first discovered them in Europe over ten years ago. Every store is different, with its own regional designs to suit the local clientele. Although I haven't found as many original styles at the N. America stores as those in Europe, I still occasionally visit H&M. Since having a baby, however, I've been coming to H&M much more frequently, in particular as their baby styles are well suited for tall babies and toddlers. I was therefore thrilled to see that an H&M store would be opening in Old Town, which is a convenient stop for me. The clothes are what they are, and this location does not have the best selection, although it's not bad. However, my main issue with this store is the absolutely horrible customer service. I've been to this store three times and each time I was served by a rude sales person with serious attitude. The main issue seems to be that very unprofessional staff are hired at this location. They will stand around and bad mouth a customer for shopping until close to closing time (gasp, imagine someone wanting to buy clothes at a slight inconvenience to the people who are being paid to...um, serve customers!) and snicker when you ask them to fold your clothes instead of rolling them into a ball into the shopping bag. While shopping for children's clothing downstairs, it's usually a staff party down there, with employees chasing each other and sometimes knocking over racks of clothing (no joke!) and instead of offering to assist customers they will stand in groups and talk about how unhappy they are with the small discounts they receive on clothing. I have to say that I have never encountered service this bad. I hope H&M HQ catches on to what goes on at this store as it's seriously making their brand look BAD! read more

I visited the HM store in Alexandria, VA on Sunday, December 28, 2014. I was searching for a pair of pants to match a blazer I found for my brother. The time was approximately 5:58pm. An associate told us to hurry up and find the items we wished to purchase because the store was about to close. I apologized for shopping so late and told the employee that I thought the store closed at a later time. Then the associate told us the following "it is highly unlikely that you will find what you are looking for in the next two minutes so you should leave because I need to clear my floor." Bear in mind, we were located in the mens suiting section clearly looking for pants to match the blazers we had in our hands. Instead of assist us with finding the items we searched for, the worker was more concerned with clearing his floor. We went upstairs to complete our purchase and I complained about our ordeal to the employee working the cash register. I asked her who the associate was who worked on the lower level. She advised us that his name was "Sam" and that he was in fact a store manager. Not only is it deplorable that an actual employee would disrespectfully rush paying customers out of a store but Sam's actions are even more offensive considering the fact that he is a store manager. read more

Service is terrible. I was there this morning with 2 young kids and when one of then asked to use the bathroom I was given the old excuse that all bathrooms were out of order. It was pouring rain and u was forced to go across the street to use a bathroom. Unacceptable that they don't let customers use their bathroom. Never going back. read more
