They made a real effort to put together a deal, and although we ultimately didn't come to an agreement, that was more on me for aiming a bit higher than they could go. Their offer was already quite strong, so I have no complaints there. Throughout the entire process, I was treated with respect and professionalism. I'd definitely recommend giving them a try if you're in the market--they're a dealership that genuinely works to earn your business.

My young son brought his car to 5 star for repair. They gave him a quote and unfortunately he could…read morenot afford it. The said they could get used parts to install to save some him money. He agreed and they kept the car. After a few days they called and said it was ready for pick up. He came & got it and the charge was $1,100. An employee drove it around to the front of the dealer for him to take home. The employee said take it home, park it and don't drive it. "Why not drive it?" The employee said it needed a total engine rebuild. "What?" 5 star took the engine apart to diagnose the problem, which they said was a timing chain break which destroyed some of the engine. The $1,100 charge was strictly for a diagnosis not repair. They gave him the impression it was gonna be repaired since they were gonna order the parts it needed. In the beginning they never mentioned this was strictly a diagnosis. Pay attention to the language they use. Who's gonna spend a ton of money for an engine rebuild for a 2017 Hyundai with 140,000 miles?

Salesman number 2 blamed me for where I parked. The service department was great, but the sales staff made it so that I will never shop there again. Is it too hard to apologize to someone?

Their prices are consistent with the online sales prices of higher volume dealerships, give or take a couple hundred bucks (even if they have to get the exact vehicle you want from another dealer), and they don't gouge. Most dealerships are great to customers when they're buying a car, but the true test is in their service department and whether they stand behind a vehicle's warranty. Thankfully, the folks in the service department have always been Johnny On The Spot and have never quibbled about repairs under warranty or outside of it. They're fast, good and provide a shuttle driver to get you home and back to the dealership, even if you live somewhere out in between No and Where. The one downside that removed one star from their rating is the fact that they push Boeing Employee Credit Union (BECU) financing. I had outside financing through one of the big online agencies and was fine with that, but the finance manager at Harbor Dodge persuaded me to go with BECU because they were local. Ginormous mistake I won't ever make again, BECU is a freaking nightmare! Seriously, guys, there has got to be a better financing partner for you than BECU!

I think highly of these guys at 5 Star Chevy service department. They never talk down to me, which has been my experience at other dealerships in Puyallup, Olympia, Tacoma, and Everett, WA. I get the full tire rotation, oil and oil filter change, fluids and brakes checked every time. Let me tell you, these 5 star service staff are PHENOMENAL! And EFFICIENT. They have great service hours, fresh coffee while you're waiting, a transport van waiting if you want to drop off your car or truck and need a ride to work or home. And they'll come pick you up.
