First off, I understand financial difficulties hit backwoods WV the hardest, but I don't need a shop owner bawling to me about how tough it is to make a profit when you stock half of your store with consignment items. Make sure to check the expiration dates, I bought some Jam that was close to it's expiration date, and saw the same brand at mountain made with expirations that were two years later. I'm almost tepid to try it. The other thing I bought, a "russian tea" mix that was a fundraiser for a (local church?) turned out to be not the greatest thing as well, not to mention the shopowner made us pay cash for it, since it was consignment. There's a little glimmer of hope, given the dry and canned good selections in the front of the store, but I'd really like to see Colabrese return to it's former old general store glory, with local made gifts, an old time candy counter (candy, sodas, stuff like you would find in the front half of a cracker barrel). and less "junky" made-in-china nick-nacks and expired paint.

I've never had a bad experience at the Oakland, MD Lowe's but I was at the windows and doors dept…read moreordering a window and the gentleman ahead of me was arguing with the employee that his special order door was in and he had confirmation e-mail. The employee said he could not find a door in the special orders section for him. Being quick on conversation I sympathized with the customer and asked if I could see his email in which he showed me and it said Lowe's of Oakland California. The employee got on the phone and confirmed that the customers item was in fact in Oakland CA. The customer bowed his head and said he must have ordered it from the wrong location. The moral of the story is verify where you are ordering it from. Accidents do happen- just look at some of the comments on yelp for the Oakland California Lowe's vs The Oakland MD store. They are mixed up.
