Shop was so crazy hot on a humid day. Food was so yummy! Got the classic gyro and chicken shwarma. Really crispy, fresh fries. Really nice workers- seems family-owned. read more

The restaurant is on the smaller side and there aren't a lot of tables however I believe people order take out rather than eat there. We ordered two meals the Chicken Kabob plate and mixed grill plate. First off let me say they give you plenty of food and more than likely you will have leftovers. We had a hard time getting past the over use of spices in the meats, it had an overwhelming amount of cumin. The texture of the meats also felt a little off, because they grind the meats it almost had a ground beef/ hamburger taste. But if a lot of spices is what you like then this is the place for you. We also didn't like the dish getting drowned in tzatziki sauce over the top. A little bit will go a long way. Again they give you a lot of food, but there are a lot of spices in the meats. We also had a hard time trying to get an explanation on the various plates and how they were prepared. read more

Helpful and seemingly nice guys behind the counter serving the customers. They were even helpful enough to bring it to my car so I wouldn't have to wait inside of the restaurant because I use a walker. The gyro sandwich was basic but not bad. The ingredients were fresh and the taste was good. The shrimp and chips were a disaster. The fries were absolutely cold. I can't describe the shrimp, but they were like little coin sized breaded pieces of something. Extremely small with mostly breading and no shrimp meat. That was not a good purchase, especially for the price, flavor and amount. read more

We came down for the trunk or treat and want to eat dinner, Got the beef / lamb gyro , disappointed, the beef , didn't taste like lamb at all, was way OVER sauced and the sauce was over garlicky. The bread was the best part. Basically wasted $15 , because I threw almost the whole thing out . Got tacos across the street instead !! Also the kiosk which they want to order was filthy and then didn't work , I'm glad I didn't have to touch it ! Won't recommend !!! read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. Got falafel and gyro both amazing. I dont eat much meat at all and the gyro meat was the best I have ever tasted. I absolutely recommend this place read more

It took about half an hour for our food to come out, but boy was it worth it! Some of the best Kebobs I've ever had! My husbands gyro and falafel were also amazing. Even my four year old couldn't get enough. We will absolutely be back! read more

Some of the best Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food I've had. The recipes and quality of their food is incredible. The staff is clearly hard working and passionate about the quality of their food and service. Their portions are big and prices and fair. Tip them. A restaurant like this really deserves it. I don't think I've seen a restaurant on Google Maps with 2,500 reviews and damn near 5 stars. read more

Ordered door dash delivery - Gyro fries and regular gyro were delicious! As was the pistachio cake :) mango lassi was bottled from an outside brand, tasted a little sour (yogurt drink) and not what i was expecting compared to others I've tried. Overall still would come back! read more

The food was delicious. The best hummus I've ever had and the lamb shawarma was flavorful and tender! Definitely coming back.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! Since I moved to the area I've tried lots of Mediterranean restaurants and Gyro Star is hands down the best one! Their food is amazing, the staff is so friendly and helpful. Unlike other restaurants, when you place an order for delivery (uber eats, DoorDash, etc), they actually read your notes and prepare it exactly how you asked. I highly recommend this restaurant, for dine in or delivery, their service is just as good read more

The food is a solid 10/10. Baklava is small but the best I've had. Cleanliness id give about an 8/10 Service was friendly. It's not a typical restaurant where there are severs taking your order or even someone at the front desk ready to take your order. There's a kiosk near the front where orders are placed and paid for. I didn't care for this style of ordering for food, but I guess it's efficient? read more

What is this place? The staff do not interact with customers, so you have to order online or at their $10,000 kiosk. That is how much they will pay not to talk to you. There is no music or any sound in the dining room. The lights are the brightest lights you have ever experienced. Tell me you hate your customers without telling me you hate your customers. I'm sure the food is fine. How do you mess it up? The staff seems very nice when they are allowed to come out to deliver your food. They're just doing what they're told by whatever psychopath owns this place. read more

Deceptively tell people on Uber Eats that it is 2 gyros for the price of one then only send one gyro. When you call, the person who is managing says, "We can't control what Uber Eats puts on their website." This time their phone doesn't work, and they just hang up rather than talk to you before you can say anything. read more

Gyro Star has been a weekly order in for my husband and I for about five weeks now and I am truly impressed with the consistency of quality food and just overall yum! I am a sucker for their mixed/combo plates while my husband loves their super gyro. Quality meat and sauces and delicious hummus and pita. Could not recommend more! read more

The food was really good, the ambiance was ok, just a little shop. The guy was running this place and the one next door, so he was really busy. If you just care about the food, it's good. Seems to be more of mainly a takeout place. read more

Honestly the best Gyros I've had in Kitsap county, the owner and workers are always very friendly, food and service is always spot on perfect, and the specials are the best, not many places can you do a BOGO using the UberEats app and pickup, awesome place read more

Since the update to the restaurant the inside is very tidy and clean. The service is amazing. Mo is absolutely fantastic. He will walk you through the menu and explain what everything is. The food is absolutely delicious! I couldn't have asked for a better experience with this restaurant. Definitely recommend read more

Of the Greek/Mediterranean restaurants around the central Kitsap area, I like Gyro Star the best. I have gone to Gyro King a few times as the location is more conconvenient for me, but in my opinion the taste and quality of Gyro Star is superior. The hummus is smooth and creamy, the baba ganoush is a little chunkier and less of a smoky flavor than I have had elsewhere but still very good, and the lamb and beef gyro has tender, well-spiced meat. I think I've found my go-to Gyro spot! read more

I've wanted to try shawarma ever since I saw the Avengers, and I finally had my opportunity. I had the chicken shawarma and spanakopita at Gyro Star. The spanakopita had too much spinach and not enough cheese for my taste, but I've thought that about other spanakopita I've had other places, so I think that's how it's authentically made. I think the one that I had that I liked better just wasn't authentic. The shawarma was warm and delicious, and I loved the tzatziki sauce that was served with the spanakopita. There were no fountain beverages, but I bought a can of pop to have with my meal. I can't give five stars, because most of the tables were dirty, and after waiting a little while to ask for a table out of the sun to be cleaned, I just cleaned it myself. If I go again, I'll just check the tables on the way in, and ask for one to be cleaned when I order, if it needs it. read more

All meats are ground except chicken. Warmed over like yesterday's meal. I didn't get food poisoning was a wonder. The meat tasted and textured like salted oatmeal with spices. Humas and pita were good. Waited a long time for take out. read more

2nd time here. Food once again delicious. I purchased a classic gyro, shrimp and corn chowder and a mango yogurt drink. The gyro was well spiced and very filling. The chowder was so rich and flavorful. Easily my favorite side so far. The service was warm and welcoming and I received my food after a very brief sit down. Store was clean and parking was easy. 10/10 again. Worth the drive from Poulsbo. Will definitely be back again. Would love to try their baklava next time. read more
