I love the Halal Project! I'm spoiled here because they clearly code anything that is GF as such on…read moretheir menu, and their food all tastes fresh and delicious. The meat is seasoned and hits the spot every time - it doesn't matter what meat you get because it is all great! Tons of variation on their menu. I get the bowls with rice and lettuce a plus every topping under the sun and garlic/harissa sauce. Chicken is great, beef is great, and I could eat their falafel all day. I love getting the bowls with their various pickled veggies for the contrast in tastes. Dolma is delicious, the kebabs are delicious, the fries loaded with deliciousness are in fact delicious, and the prices for all dishes are very reasonable. Food can take a little longer, but only because the food is cooked fresh to order and not sitting in a metal container overcooking. Their pitas are stuffed to a brim with toppings and meat, and I could eat their hummus all day every day. Every time we come to San Marcos I have to try to force myself to try something new - it's hard, but we always find ourselves back at Halal Project happily full every time.

Mr R's falafel wrap and water seemed to make him happy. My lemonade was EXCELLENT again. Gyro was…read moregenerously sauced and meat had lovely crispy textured edges. The veggies were, as always, beautiful and fresh. Halfway through I did remark to Mr R that Halal Project definitely has more flavor than Taziki, and he agreed. It did take a little longer than expected (mostly noticeable bc it's a day we had a plane to catch) but not outrageous and the results were indisputably worth it. Love to whoever wrapped these gyros sturdily enough to make eating them in the car NOT a complete disaster; we will continue to enjoy this local delight.

i've eaten here sooo many times and here's a comprehensive review:…read more to begin, everything tastes quite fresh and the choice of ingredients for the bowls including the chick peas, jalapeños, and sauce are all excellent. the rice here is good and the chicken tastes great. let's talk price. this place can be quite expensive, especially if you are ordering something like a shawarma. personally, i wouldn't just because the amount you get for the price is quite small. for the rice platters, id say it's also a touch expensive for the size, however, there is a deal occasionally on uber eats where you can buy one get one. uber eats of course charges enough in service fees and delivery to basically charge you the full amount anyway, but if you have uber one or some other deals you could get these on an excellent deal. now, i LOVE my halal food, and there really aren't many options for good halal-cart style halal food in college station and even considering that, i find myself missing abu omar when im away from cstat. but when im here, i usually pass by the cart just because the prices are too high to justify eating regularly. i'd definitely suggest running some deals so atleast on certain days its more accessible for students. with that out of the way, id recommend trying a rice platter from abu omar. the staff is nice, the packaging is nice, and the food comes out decently fast. it tastes great and *if* you enjoy it relatively soon after getting it (i.e. your delivery didn't take a long time to arrive, if ordered) you can typically enjoy it quite warm, which is awesome. personally, ill definitely keep eating and enjoying the food from here and keep wishing there were better recurring deals or prices across the menu. taste: 9.5/10 price: 6.5/10 overall: 8/10! a solid, classic halal food cart option in cstat. one of few choices for great halal food. give them a try, but know it's a bit expensive for a student's meal.

I love abu omar Italian shawrma zinger shawrma rap fries 100% definitely recommend this placeread more

Ah, the candy store! I love a good butcher shop. So many wonderful items for the grill and table…read more Readfield is a Bryan/College Station staple offering Prime and Choice grades of beef. I usually buy New York strips, Ribeye Steaks and Brisket. I love looking at all of the cuts in the meat counter. They also have a great selection of sausage. The Jalapeno & cheddar is my favorite! The service is always friendly and the store well stocked. My last trip was for New York strip steaks. I also love their house blended rubs! There's almost nothing you can't find here. They have everything from duck to Turducken. Did I mention the rotisserie chicken or divine homemade pies? Peach & Apple all delicious. Whenever I'm in town, I almost always visit Readfield to make something delicious for the family!

I had a few basic questions about their products and pricing, and it felt like I was inconveniencing the staff just by asking. There was little effort to explain options or provide recommendations. The store itself also seemed disorganized and not as clean as I would expect from a meat market. The display cases didn't look well-maintained, and some products appeared poorly labeled, making it hard to tell what I was purchasing. On top of that, the pricing didn't reflect the level of quality or service provided. I expected better overall professionalism and attention to detail. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return or recommend it to others unless significant improvements are made in customer service and store upkeep.

Every dish feels intentional -- properly seasoned, well executed, and made with clear attention to detail rather than shortcuts. The service is equally strong. You can tell the staff takes genuine pride in what they do and consistently goes above and beyond for customers. Places like this remind you what made this country great: quality, hard work, good service, and people who still care about doing things the right way.

Sadly, it closed shortly after my visit. But I read in the reviews that this was formerly a Burrito District, so I didn't even realize this was the former Ori'Zaba's until I walked in. So apparently this spot has struggled to keep one concept for whatever reason. The interesting thing about Wise Street Eats is that you can opt to build a healthy bowl with Greek inspirations, or you can do what I did and order the Dirty Mac bowl with fried chicken, mac-n-cheese and cajun fries. I'm a real sucker when restaurants put "Most Popular" on their menu, which made my decision to order this, a quick one. What I will say is that, while I enjoyed the Dirty Mac, in retrospect, I would have preferred if it was a side dish, rather than my entire meal, because it was quite heavy (as one would expect). About halfway through it, I realized I was going to have to bring the energy to take down this valiant opponent. Next time, I'll build a bowl. Or maybe even go with a burger. But I do appreciate the dirty mac and if I was still a man who got hungover, I'd consider it a pretty elite hangover remedy.
