Our waitress was "Augie" (short for Augustina) The food was the big surprise. The bread was amazing as was the dipping oil. The garlic butter with honey was wonderful on the bread. We got the tomato soup and it was one of the best I have had in a very long time. We got the eggplant rollitini. The butterfly pasta was the star of the dish. While the eggplant was excellent the butterfly pasta I could have eaten every day. The green beans were a little over cooked but still not bad. I will include a picture of the HUGE slice of chocolate cake I received. I will be eating it for a week. The price for four people was $150. So it was not outrageous. Recommended.

The evening started with a game of Restaurant Hide and Seek. After being seated, we sat for quite a while wondering if we were part of a social experiment--no water, no menus, no acknowledgment. Eventually a waiter arrived and, very honestly, said he was there to take our order because we'd been "ignored." Accurate assessment. We placed our order, and later a woman who appeared to be a manager brought out our appetizer, apologized for no one taking care of us, and said the appetizer would be comped. A very nice gesture--unfortunately one that didn't make it to the bill, where the appetizer showed up like it never heard that conversation. The food itself? Genuinely good. No complaints there. However, my wife's Caesar salad never arrived. She didn't bring it up because, frankly, after the earlier disappearing-staff act, it felt like tempting fate. We paid the bill (about $100), including a surprise 3% credit card fee we didn't see posted anywhere. We opted to take dessert home, mostly because the night already felt complete... enough. Bottom line: the food has real potential, but the service needs leadership, consistency, and maybe a map. It's hard to justify coming back in the future when you factor in parking fees, credit card fees, and the possibility of being politely ignored on a special occasion. It's a shame--good food deserves better service.

Who still does this in this modern age!?? I understand when this is done in super hole-in-the-wall restaurants where prices are kept very low. This is a well-established restaurant with normal prices! I paid $20 total for my meal. I thankfully read the reviews in advance and learned about the surprise "non-cash adjustment" fee, so I came prepared, but this was troubling. I liked the booth seating in the restaurant and the cozy vibes. The food was mixed. They gave us complimentary garlic bread, which was pretty good. I opted for the chicken fettuccine alfredo, and my friend got the linguine primavera, which is vegetarian. I added a "small salad" for $1 as it seemed appealing, but it was a big mistake. I described the salad to my friend as "gross" (not a word I like to write in reviews, but it so accurately describes my thoughts). It was an assortment of lettuce and some other unknown vegetables absolutely bathed in vinaigrette. Like, half the bowl was just vinaigrette soup. I did think the fettuccine alfredo was decent though, and the chicken was moist and soft. My friend said her pasta was fine. Neither of us finished our meals, even though the portion size didn't appear to be that large.

He recommended the upstairs dinning room if you want it to be romantic evening. Agree 100% when we left you could hardly hear your self talking. They also have a nice outside area which would be nice in spring/summer time. Our waitress was Riley who has been with them for 2 years and was very knowledgeable about the menu. She was spot on the whole night. Had our drinks my wife the Appleton and I had Dewars and soda. Bartender knows their stuff and does not skimp. Appetizers were Risotto Tots, Very good, also to large crab cake with remoulade sauce, excellent. Shrimp scampi was excellent and very filling. They have a very diverse menu for varying appetites. Highly recommend eating at this establishment. 5 stars plus. Keep up the great work.

Since it's a small space and echoey, we could not hear ourselves over the group of people talking. Drinks: We started with the Queen Bee cocktail and a red wine. The cocktail was good but I didn't feel the mixture of flavors worked well for my taste. I can't recall the name of the wine but it was a nice wine to pair with red meat. Appetizers: we started with the fried green tomatoes and the Caesar wedge salad. The tomatoes were a little bland and came out cold (not sure if that was on purpose?). The wedge was good but was slathered in dressing which made it a little too rich. *Side note: I realized after we left that complimentary bread was mentioned on the appetizer menu, but I'm unclear if we had to ask for that...? It was never offered nor brought out. I decided against ordering the French baguette because I assumed there was complimentary bread. Entrees: I had the Ravioli Diablo and my husband tried the Sea Bass special that came with clams, mussels and lobster ravioli. The Ravioli Diablo was just OK, kind of a small portion. For the special, he liked the mussels but thought the sea bass was a little overdone. In hindsight, there was a lot going on with that plate; the ravioli was a bit out of place and it could've used a nice risotto or rice instead. Dessert: we tried ordering Creme brulee but they were out so we ordered the "brown butter" cheesecake instead...I'm including the description from the menu and a picture of the bare cheesecake loaf I received with no toppings (I took the picture after my husband took a bite). I'm actually most disappointed about this since I was hoping it would be the part of the meal to make up for the mediocrity of everything else. "Vanilla bean brown butter with candied pecans and soft whipped cream" Honestly I tried to be optimistic but it was overall not the experience I was hoping for. Especially for a $200 bill.

He was informative, attentive and still down to earth and able to understand this families' quirks! We did not have any complaints about the food we were served! Large portions, drinks were all amazing. Each of us got a different entree. Baked Ziti - Hubby hardly orders pasta, loved this one. The sauce had the right amount of heat with a slight sweetness. Linguine and Clams - Birthday Boy loved and says it's definitely a cravable entree that he would go back for. Chicken Parmesan- a lot, made our son's girlfriend happy and did not disappoint Chicken Alfredo - so much food here, Son's fiancé had to take the rest home but loved it. Scallop Special - oldest son loved the portion size and size of the scallops Gnocchi- son#4 has eaten here before and swears by it, even though he claims it's not as good as his mommas I got the filet with the mushrooms and sautéed spinach. Cooked perfectly medium rare, cut like butter. Didn't want the onion rings it came with, but it came with it. So just sent them home with one of the kids. Granddaughter got spaghetti noodles with a butter sauce -- she is 3 and ate half the full adult portion. Prices are high end, but seriously when making a reservation you would know that. Great date night or big celebration dinner to book!!
