We've ordered lunch at Gyro King a few times and haven't been disappointed. I admit that I haven't ventured from the standard gyro because it is delicious. The picture on the menu makes it look like it has a lot of meat, but it really does have a big pile of tender, tasty meat. With several slices of ripe tomato, lettuce and onion. And, of course, a good helping of that to-die-for tzatziki sauce. On a piece of pita bread that is strong enough to hold it all together. The folks there are always nice and friendly. We were hungry so walked around the food truck area by costco. Decided to get a lamb/beef gyro. Easy to order girl working counter also was the cook. Took maybe 510 min and it was ready piping hot and was loaded with sauce & meat. Thankfully there were a few covered picnic tables close by. The only thing missing was a spoon or fork to eat the gyro ingredients that slipped out, it was so packed. I will defonately stop here again. While I waited for my meal lots of people were getting her lemonade and said it was the best they'd had when I asked them about their drinks so next time I will add that to my order. read more

Little bit pricey but I feel I got my money's worth. Comparable $ to other trucks in the same round up. The lamb/beef gyro plate was full of Greek salad which had actual kalamatas, tomatoes, cukes and crumbled feta w a nice Greek vinaigrette. In addition you get a pile of fresh hot seasoned fries and a pile of gyro meat + you get a warm pita too. Even throws in dolma as well. Very tasty - ready in 7min after ordering and as a 200+lb man I got my fill. Greek Uncle was a one man band but got the food out hot and fresh. Another mouth watering visit to the aptly named Gyro King for a huge shrimp gyro, so huge it definitely banishes the hunger pangs. Soft yeasty pita, tons of pink juicy shrimp, tomatoes, cucumber, onion and tzatziki, and I asked for sriracha on the side to dip it into. Every time I go here I think I'm going to order something new, but I end up with Shrimp Gyro as it is that good! Ask for napkins as it is a juicy finger licking lunch and you will smear it all over your face ;) It is my addiction and I can't get enough. Every 4th Costco visit from the west side I treat myself with a Shrimp Gyro. Try it, you won't be disappointed. There is a huge menu and everything is fresh cooked. My first meal in Maui was essentially a tray of fries topped with melty cheese from a gyro food truck - classic! After a long day of travel and waiting almost an hour to pick up my rental car (or should I say minivan!), I wasn't in the mood to go exploring for food. Lucky for me, there was a food truck park not too far from the car rental area and the airport. I originally headed that direction for the vegan food truck, Aloha Eats, but despite the hours on Google saying otherwise, they were not open when I arrived on a Friday around 6pm. I eventually gravitated towards Gyro King not because I wanted Mediterranean, but because they had some amazing pictures of greasy fry trays on their truck menu. I decided on the cheesy fries, and consumed them on the premises. While they weren't bad, they weren't the most satisfying or nutritious food to consume. There are a bunch of food trucks parked next to the Courtyard by Marriott near Kahului Airport (across Costco). This is a convenient spot to grab a bite to eat, super close to the airport. Lots of benches to sit on and enjoy your food. I decided to try the Gyro Plate ($16). This plate was so big! It came with salad, two dolma, fries and topped with delicious gyro meat (lamb/beef). I love this place. This has the best value and gyros compared to other Mediterranean trucks. The service is fast and I get my order fairly quickly. There was once a newer girl who overcharged us even when we asked to confirm the prices, but I haven't seen her in a long time, and we just double check our receipt now, but there's been no issues since. I stick to the original gyros as curiousity of the pork gyro led me to believe its made of unaltered kalua pig and the chicken gyro seems to be unaltered rotisserie chicken maybe (meaning both are not seasoned in a Mediterranean style, just added as is). I could be wrong but that's how our tastes interpret it. The original gyros are consistently delicious and we always return for those. The lemonade is also delicious and of good value compared to the prices and sizes of drinks sold at other trucks. read more

Located right beside the Marriott hotel in Kahului, you can't miss them (2 minutes away from the airport). If you're coming from the back area of the airport, they are in a designated spot with about 10 other food trucks, with a seating area in the middle of it all and a gravel parking area. This will be my Second time here. Food portions seem bigger than last time (lots of meat!) You get fries or Greek salad as a side and I chose salad this time, as my fries were soggy and oil-filled the very first tone I've tried them. Sad there were no kalmata olives in the salad, but you get lots (I mean lots) of feta, cucumbers, tomatoes and romaine. Pretty standard. A little on the pricier end, but I could split this hefty plate into 2 meals, so $7/meal, not bad at all. The cashier on both instances were nice enough, so maybe I came on a good day, or they replaced the cashier so many people complained about? A few things I Wish were that the sauces were on the side, as I found a bit too much tzatziki inside of the gyro. Also, maybe ask for lite feta, as there was too much (overpowered everything). Made my second trip here, so I think I'm due for a review. I totally forgot they were in the newer food lot by Costco & I went to the address listed looking for them the time before this. I was never a huge fan of greek food, but I had a bite of someones shrimp gyro the first time & knew next time I needed one for myself. Fast forward to yesterday, decided to bring my grandma back to get another one. Got her the pork gyro with salad with a strawberry lemonade & beef gyro for myself. The lot was pretty busy, so there quite a few people in front us, but we didn't have to wait too long. The gyros were big & stuffed with goodness: feta, tzatziki sauce, purple onion, tomato cucumbers & meat. I'm not sure how gyros are supposed to taste, but these were really good. Meat was soft & the pork was shredded with a mild smoky taste. I will say it was a bit expensive, for everything we got it was $29. But I'm definitely all about supporting local businesses as often as I can, so go give these guys a try even if greek food isn't your thing. read more

Wow! This place is amazing! I ate here while the other half ate at another truck locally. I always take a chance to try Greek food, and wasn't expecting much especially in Maui. Boy was I absolutely pleasantly impressed with my choice! The food was clearly made fresh, served warm. French fries: crunchy on the outside, soft in the inside. Fried to perfection. AND with feta cheese, hello yumminess! Gyro sandwich: HUGE and delicious. The tzatziki sauce is great. I shouldn't have finished this whole sandwich but I did! No regrets!!!! Will I come back? Don't know why my previous activity here is gone but I'll tell you this really is an awesome food truck. They are not kidding about the worlds best gyro! It's so good that, try as I may, I have a hard time ordering anything else because it's just the perfect lunch. The pita bread is soft and fluffy, loaded with lots of seasoned meat, covered with cukes onions and tomatoes and then smothered in tsatziki sauce. They make their own unsweetened iced tea and it's large and strong! I like that they have a couple of tables with chairs set up by the truck, which is in the Home Depot parking lot by the way. The people in the truck were friendly and the food came out quick...I ordered the Greek garlic shrimp scampi on pasta...also their worlds best strawberry lemonade. Back to the office I went. And downhill we fell... The pasta was watery with very little flavor. They covered it in some kind of cheese that melted into a giant clump of cheese pasta. Not in a good way...on the plus side, a good amount of shrimp for the $15 per plate price. The lemonade had very little of at all strawberry flavor. Def not worth the $5 per cup. Overall I wouldn't recommend either of the items I had today. This was not a $23 dollar lunch...very underwhelmed. Your mileage may vary. read more

This food truck is located at the Ka Makeke lot, a new marketplace area located in the parking lot of the old K-Mart. They've been there a few weeks now and I've passed by a number of times. Greek/Mediterranean food is not usually my first choice meal, but after striking out at one food joint & another food truck lot (trucks literally closed right when we got there!), we ended up here. I was skeptical, but hunger always wins and we sure were not going home to cook! Their menu is quite extensive for a food truck. Gyros, sandwiches, & some random value meals that included hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches. My husband got the big fat gyro with greek fries sprinkled with bits of feta cheese. I got the beefeater sandwich with thick cut potato fries. There was another guy in front of us, but we didn't have to wait very long for our food. We got everything to go and enjoyed our food at home. Chalk it up to fate 'cause our meal sure was delicious! My sandwich was filled to the brim with meat that it was hanging out from the sides. There was tomatoes, onions, & cheese. The meat was very tender and delicious. While good, the flavors were kind of flat and something was missing. I took bits of feta cheese from my husband's plate and that did the trick. Delicious! I also took a bite of his gyro and OMG. I'm not big on gyros, but this was so yummy! Again the meat was really tender and the tzatziki sauce was perfect. *I* want to get this the next time I go because I will definitely be back. Overall, impressed! The gyros are okay, there's not many places that have gyros on Maui so when I'm craving one I just come here out of convenience. I usually get the lamb/beef gyros. The meat is good but the tatziki doesn't taste very authentic. The hummus and pita is very average. You're almost better off getting the hummus at Costco across the street. I'd personally rate the food a 2 maybe a 3 if I'm being generous. If you are wondering why I rated this one star, part of it is mainly the service otherwise it would be 2 stars. Every time I come here this young Asian girl cashier gives the most horrible service. I'll give you 2 examples of my experiences. My card declined 3 times before and she gave me an attitude saying it was my fault and not her machine and rolled her eyes at me. I called the card company of course they said it was her machine. Another experience I had was when I asked if I could not get tomatoes and onions in the gyro because of an allergy since I was buying for my husband said I could only choose to remove one. Idk how that makes sense. This cashier just makes me not want to ever come back and support them. Always treating me with an attitude. read more

I saw this food truck in the Home Depot parking lot on my way to the airport and had to stop. I order the gyro platter with greek fries and a lemonade. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it. They give you a large portion of food and it is delicious. I got it to go, carried it through airport security and ate it at my gate. They gyro was overflowing with meat. They have a wide range of food options including burgers, ribs, pulled pork... It was hard to chose what to go with, so I decided to just go with their name sake. It was a good decision. Went here after going to Kanaha Beach Park, hungry for a nice fresh lunch. Ordered a Supreme Greek Salad (I guess it's just their regular Greek salad with gyro meat on top) and the "Fries with everything" and uh.. So the service is really great, the cashier was super friendly and charming. Food came out quickly and looked beautiful. Also included warmed yummy pita bread triangles. The location is also incredibly convenient- right in the middle of town, easy to get to (the old Kmart parking lot) and close to so much. The actual food... was about on par with a cafeteria. It's weird how food can look so good but taste so... nothing. Salad: chopped romaine hearts with bottled Cesar salad dressing (not olive oil/vinegar!). Thinly Sliced cucumber and tomato, dry feta crumbles, and kalamata olives. I can still taste the Costco. It's just obviously very low-quality ingredients and NO SEASONING. Then the gyro meat slices on top... again, it's pretty low quality but I ate it. Fries: weren't hot or cold. Just a purgatory temperature. I think they were baked and not fried, because they were dry af and had no oil. Apparently "with everything" actually means "with *something" and that something was dry feta crumbles. Again, absolutely no seasoning, not even a shake of salt. No flavor, just a weird crunchy, potato feeling in my mouth. So in conclusion, I can make a much tastier and more authentic Greek salad myself and I'm neither a chef nor Greek. I recommend checking out the other food truck place nearby, I've heard many good things about it. ALSO- I don't even know if this is halal food. ‍ and kind of doubt that it is. read more

We ordered bits and pieces from several trucks to create a spread for our group & 2 dishes caught our eye at Gyro King-- the Mediterranean cheese fries & the original falafel. Service was fast & the food was ready in approx. 10-15 minutes, no complaints there. 2/5 stars for the Mediterranean fries: a bit underwhelming-- pretty much regular cheese fries, though they were good and the kids wolfed them down 5/5 stars for the Original Falafel: creamy tzatziki, fresh veg, the falafel itself was absolutely PERFECT--- so much yum wrapped up in a delicious pita. I like to eat different food or I get bored. I am not one of those people that can eat the same meal over and over. Which is why I am happy that these folks are around. Here on our tiny island we have at times limited offering in the food choice area. Especially if you live in the eastern part of the island or even the central area. That way I can stop in and get my favorite from these friendly folks which is the Greek platter. You get a gyro stuffed with meat , also a nice green salad , a few dolmas which is the grape leaves with filling, hummus and a mixed rice. It also comes with a nice piece of flatbread. Myself I like the plate because you can assemble your own gyro or do what I do which is rip and dip. If your on the go you can also just grab the ready to go gyro and fries. The shrimp scampy is also a winner. I would recommend checking this truck out. They have always had good food for a decent price especially these days. The girls who run the truck are also always super friendly and it's close to the airport or Costco so they are usually really convenient for everyone. read more

Coming from New York I found this place to be the "worst gyro" I ever had in my entire life. Food was eatable but that's all. Gyro plate (beef & lamb) seemed to be grilled. Pork gyro- that was not pork gyro... that was slowed cooked pork meat... they could've at least grill it to give it a little char. You cannot sell yourself as having 35 years of "Greek cuisine " experience and not to deliver one single Greek flavor. read more
