Jumbo gyro
Luke R.

The gyro house is one of my favorite go to gyro places in stl. It's a small space with about 10 tables inside and they set some up outside on nice days. It sits right across the street from the pageant. Every time I go the staff greets me and is as friendly as can be. I always get the jumbo gyro it comes with extra meat and feta! Highly recommended

Come to the Gyro House if you desire a nice gyro and good portion size. This is a hidden gem in the Delmar Loop. The ppace is small. It's has comfortable seating. The staff was pleasant. They know their regulars. One day they may know me to as I plan to be back. The gyro was good. The portion size was great. I will say that it was tasty.

Delicious food with indoor and outdoor dining options (2 tables outside). Order at the counter and they will bring the food out to you. Falafel - $7 - 3 flavorful and crispy falafels served with a side of hummus and pitas. Everything tasted fresh. Gyro $8.50 - A generous portion of meat is served on top a pita with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and covered in tzatziki sauce. Pita is nice and pillowy. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2022

Lamb gyro plate

I was so excited to eat my gyro because it smelled so good, then I realized I didn't a picture as I was about to dig in. I really enjoyed the lamb gyro plate, the meat was well seasoned and tender. All the extra toppings really tied the meal up nicely! I will definitely be going back!

Best baklava in STL!
Luke L.

First let me say- they have the best baklava in saint Louis. Sometimes I'll stop by just for that. The gyros and combo plates are all very yummy and you get a good amount of food for your money. Every time I've been, the staff is friendly. I usually take my food to go. The shop is a bit small and isn't really the kind of vibe that makes you wanna visit for a sit down experience, but it's simple and clean if you do decide to stay. But the food is definitely worth coming back for.

Ordered the wings "trashed" it is not on the menu - you need to ask for this. The tangiest, crispiest wings with some heat and parmesan sprinkled on top. Absolutely delicious. We also ordered the burger med well and that was also juicy and full of flavor. Tasted like a homemade burger on the grill. Fries were also battered to perfection. Must try spot!!

We took the first table available, which happened to be in the middle of the entry way. It was a rather odd placement, but it beat having to wait! Our server was prompt and immediately gave us water and menus. Since it was late, I opted for something light and chose the blackened white fish that came with rice pilaf and veggies. Score for being healthy and fitting my macros without having to substitute. My boyfriend got the hot wings and a gyro salad, while his friend got the chicken kebabs and a salad. Their food came first while mine came later. I sampled a piece of the gyro meat and it was quite tasty but had a taco flavor, which I found odd considering we were at a Greek restaurant! My dish was good. It wasn't that blackened but it was still seasoned well and had great flavor. The vegetables were a bit basic and could have used more seasoning. Aside from that, the dish was a hit and our service was great. I'll for sure be back.

The Taramosalata (caviar) was flavorful with the lemon zing. The Greek salad's feta had that distinctive low key tang. The sampler platter with moussaka (eggplant, beef and potato), pasticcio (Greek version of Mac and cheese)and dolmades (Greek version of tamales) had surprising tastes of cinnamon and nutmeg in the bechamel which was most welcome to my tastebuds. The pan fried grouper was an unexpected treat with the light breading that was crunchy without overwhelming the fish. The vegetables were perfectly cooked with a light crunch and the Greek potatoes were soft without being mushy. Do not leave without trying the Galaktobureko for dessert. This lemon custard with phyllo dough and honey will make your taste buds ask for one to take home . I had the great pleasure to talk to the chef and find out her secret! She made the dessert with ingredients from Greece. All the dishes include ingredients from Greece which produce flavorful and authentic food made with care and love . Ari's is the perfect place for flavors that remind you of Greece or help the yearning for a place with fresh food in a relaxing atmosphere.

Anthonino's was the culinary highlight of our trip to St Louis. Located well-outside of Downtown,…read moreit is located in a largely residential neighborhood. We had 6pm reservations and were seated on time but people without reservations faced a 2 hour wait. Make reservations! Upon entering, there is a hostess stand and small bar with seating extending to the back of the building. We had the first table so I can't comment on the full size. My son ordered a Bloody Mary and I had a Pinot Noir while we looked at menu. Bloody Mary was very good and the wine was pleasant. We started with Garlic Bread with Cheese. It was the only menu item I would not order again. Flavors did not come together. I ate my fair share so it was good. Just not great. We then shared a cheese pizza with provel. Elite crust and sauce! The crust had an amazing char and the sauce was deliciously nuanced. The cheese was very good, but most definitely not the star of the pie. Pasta Pomodoro was wonderful. House made pasta was excellent and the sauce was a perfect accompaniment. (Anthonino's really does sauces well!) I finished with tiramisu and I am so glad I did! Did I need it? No. Did I want it? Heck yeah! I think I will be wanting it every day for a long time to come! All of the staff were welcoming and friendly, while remaining efficient. Nice group of people. I would love to be a regular here.

The atmosphere is lovely, and the smell of fresh food as you walk in instantly sets the mood (just give yourself a few extra minutes for street parking). Our server, Cherish, was outstanding--warm, fast, and attentive. Everyone loved their meal, the food arrived quickly, and the toasted raviolis are an absolute must-try. Wonderful experience from start to finish. I'll definitely be returning!
