We went here to enjoy dinner for my "last night" before my 1st knee surgery. I had been here a couple times and it was always good. However, tonight was different. The service was amazing. Very attentive. The appetizer - Dolmathes were sooooo good. The drinks were spot on and those that were recommended complimented our meals perfectly. My Greek Salmon? OMG! I LOVED this salmon. The seasoning on it was so good. Honestly, I use this as the standard that other salmon should try to reach. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I am looking forward to the weather getting nicer so we can sit outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] ([[HIGHLIGHT]]Although, it seems like it might be a little loud out on the patio but I am still giving it a try.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]) [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is a little odd with one room in the middle of the whole dining room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Hmm, I wish I had asked why? We went for Sunday morning breakfast brunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely, clean, homey place with a beautiful outdoor patio with plants.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (We stayed inside for the air conditioning this time.) Our favorite of the buffet was the potatoes with red peppers and onions, everyone went back for seconds. They also do made-to-order individual omelets, choose your ingredients. We chose veggie cheese omelets and they were absolutely perfect. The chef brought them to our table as soon as they were ready. And they have Burman's Hot Sauce, which is now my favorite, perfect with the omelettes and the potatoes. The waitress was awesome too. read more

We had a group of 19 adults for dinner on Wednesday evening at Ari's. I had made the reservation several weeks in advance directly with the owner's son. This is a family run restaurant with long term employees. We had a separate room off the main dining room. Our server, Susanna, was excellent and provided exceptional service with a very cheerful and engaging attitude. They have a large menu with a great price point and lots of options for authentic Greek food. Everyone seemed to enjoy what they ordered. I've driven by this place for several years and finally decided to just jump in for dinner on a Sunday night. They were moderately busy. The hostess/waitress appeared to be the only one working at the front of house. No matter. She kept everyone's glasses filled and got everyone's order completely correct. The lamb gyro is tender and full of flavor. I recommend the Greek style French fries. The Ari's of my last visit - sine 6 months ago - is NOT the quality nor the class of Ari's of this past Sunday (08/20/2025). Service was just passable. The vegetables were soft and not well steamed. My chicken Modega was like an over-sauced rock. I did not have - nor did my friend have - a sharp knife needed to cut the baklava! After many years eating there with my wife, and friends ... I am moving on. Perchance it is the tariffs ... or something ... but not the Ari's of times ago. read more

I ordered Ari's for lunch today via door dash, so this review is based on the food only. I've never been inside or dined in, but it looks like a cool spot every time I've driven by. They seemed to have prepared my meal quickly, which is always a plus around lunch time. I ordered Ari's famous Greek salad which came with grilled chicken, feta, tomato, red onions, pepperoncinis, Kalamata olives, cucumber, and pita. When I got the food, the presentation was really nice. All of the veggies looked fresh and the salad looked nicely out together (i eat a lot of salads and have seen some messy ones lol). The pita was warm and placed on top for presentation as well. The salad had a bit of what looked like tzatziki on it (which I love) and came with a side of vinaigrette. The salad itself was fresh and delicious, and the vinaigrette was perfect with it. I happened to have some tzatziki at home, which I enjoyed with the pita. They also have some you can purchase there as well if you don't have a massive Costco one in your fridge like I do lol. I do wish there was a bit more chicken on the salad, but overall I was satisfied! I'm looking forward to having a dine in experience next time! read more

Service was really good. We have eaten inside before and we were really hungry for Greek, so this time we grabbed to go. Flaming cheese, Greek Salad and Moussaka. It was pretty good but you could smell whitener on the salad. It was a huge. Tasted fine but you could smell the chemical that keeps the lettuce from rusting. Bechamel sauce tasted as if it was going a little sour. We will go back to eat in side. $50+ for the 3 items to go. Came with Pita bread. read more

Ok let's talk about this place, I got the famous Ari's Gyro Sandwich- delicious! We sat out in the patio today since it was 80 degrees in November & it was so nice with all the plants, helps make it feel a little more private from the near road. Our food came out super quick & the waitress was quick to serve us whatever we needed! So happy to try this place as my first Greek restaurant! read more

Hubs got the gyro pita and I got the gyro plate. It was honestly pretty good and four stars until dessert. Meat was tender and flavorful and pita bread and fries were fresh and hot. The dessert we got though was subpar. The phyllo dough wasn't cooked all the way so we got a dose of uncooked phyllo. Blech. Couldn't return it because we did it on Uber eats and Uber eats wouldn't even refund us. Disappointing. The meal was good though read more

This was the worst food I've actually ever had. 20 bucks each for breakfast buffet and I tipped the nice waitress 10 bucks. . Hard as a rock biscuits, burned dry sausages and the bacon tasted like the pork was expired. I shouldn't have even ate it or paid for it. The waitress was very nice and polite though. Back again for another visit. I went by myself on a Monday night at around 6:30. The restaurant had quite a few people but I'd say only about half the tables were taken if that much. I ordered the Gyro sandwich again as that's what I had my first time around. And, of course, french fries - crispy. Ari's did not disappoint. The gyro didn't have as much meat as my previous one but there was still quite a bit. The tzatziki sauce is pretty much perfect. The onions are nice and crisp, I can't speak for the tomatoes - I ordered mine without. The french fries are slightly seasoned crinkle cut. They came out perfectly - as ordered. Waitstaff was very nice, again. Even with as many tables as my server had she stopped by regularly to make sure everything was alright. I sat inside and the atmosphere is pretty perfect. Just fancy enough for a special occasion. Perfect five out of five score from me. read more

I absolutely loved this restaurant! We had just about every appetizer on the menu that was Greek. Combo plate, spanakopita, baba ghanouj, avegolemono and Greek salad. I'm pretty sure we had a couple other things as well, and I can't believe how much we ordered, and we finished basically all of it. They were only four of us! The spanakopita was homemade. I don't remember the last time I had homemade spanakopita, it was gorgeous. I wish I had thought about taking a picture of the whole thing when it came out, but this here is a picture of what was left of it after about two seconds :-) it looked so good that someone else at the table ordered one after they saw mine. One of the owners came out, and she thanked us for ordering Greek food! I guess a lot of people just go there and order American or Italian, but this is the real deal! If you like Greek food you will not be disappointed. Service was great, lovely people. Can't believe this place wasn't mobbed. read more

Stopped by to treat myself to Lunch. Ordered the Saganaki to start. It was OK, but a very small portion- 2 thin pieces. For the price $11.99 , I expected better. They only have their dinner menu, and are expensive. For my main lunch, I asked for the large Greek Salad.. This was disappointing. The tomato's were bad. They tasted sour and old. The spinach had seen better days also- black and decomposing. The rest of my salad was OK. So I picked it out and ate the rest. When my server came by, I told her the tomatoes were not good. She told me they were cut this morning. I asked her to look at them. She replied " that is what I was told". She did say she would tell the kitchen staff. The price was 27.54 for lunch. Saganaki, Greek Salad, and a iced tea. Too expensive to be bad. I was not impressed with the food. I do not think I will be back. This was Friday at lunch. read more

The food at Ari's was pretty good and it's a wonderful, elegant atmosphere. It was very quiet despite being on a busy street. We were disappointed with the service, however. Our server seemed distracted and inattentive. They failed to alert us of a drink special despite our asking for a drink menu, which they don't have. They were virtually absent when it came time to pay the check -- we had to remind them to return our credit card. I hope it was an off day for them and not typical. The food and atmosphere make it worth a try. read more

A nice family owned, casual,Greek restaurant. The food was really good and reasonably priced. Our service, whom, I believe was the owner was very nice. Disappointing that there were only a few tables taken or 6:30 on a weeknight. More folks need to try this restaurant! Very central South City location. The only minor complaint is that I wish the pita on the gyro had been warm, not cold. I'll just ask next time. Very good otherwise. read more

I moved a few blocks away from this place recently, and looked forward to trying it along with the many other nearby restaurants. First time going, I was surprised by the high prices but obviously everything's going up. The service was fantastic, the lady was super nice and attentive, ten out of ten. I did not like the food however. Skimpy, terrible gyro and bad fries. Gave it one more shot another time and tried the chicken parmigiana which they recommended, and it was as bad or worse. We were the only customers in the place both times, and we could see why. I wouldn't eat here if the food was half the price. Vinnies on Ivanhoe has a million times better gyros, or do yourself a favor and go to Gyro House in U city for the best gyros in town. read more

Been here twice with long lengths between visits but had the same experience both times. The service is good, the prices are good, the gyro is very good, the TVs are still the old CRTV kind which is sort of a great conversation piece for mid 30 something and up people to talk about "Member' b&w TV? Member' the rotating dial, member' only getting 5 channels, Member'...?" Anyway, it's a good place to have a meal and definitely get the gyro, it's one of the better ones in Saint Louis. read more

We didn't try the cocktails this time, but everyone at the bar looked happy and well taken care of, and the bartenders were clearly on top of things. Crusoe's feels like the kind of neighborhood spot you can count on: great service, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere. I didn't mind sitting in there to eat lunch by myself, it was a relaxing atmosphere with good food making it a great lunch break option. I got the euro with the hummus, feta and Kalamata olives, and it was delicious. It had so much in it that I had to eat some of it with a fork first before I could even fold it and bite it. Very filling, no need for fries. They have bottled sodas and drinks, I was glad that they had bottled iced tea as well- sweet, unsweet and zero sugar.
