The cashier was very nonchalant when I walked in. After I placed my order she just looked at me, I finally said that's all and she gave me a total. I ordered the chicken kabob with rice. It took about 10 minutes for my order. I took it back to my hotel and was pleasantly surprised. I live in Detroit right on the border of Dearborn so I'm very particular about my Mediterranean food. The chicken was super moist and flavorful. The rice was cooked perfectly and the veggies were roasted which added a little texture. I wasn't a fan of the sauce they include. It tastes like a mix between ranch and Caesar. The side salad was served with the same dressing but I didn't use it. The salad tasted as if there was some sort of oil on it and it was good with no dressing. This was a great find while in the area for work. read more

Cheap looking place for Greek food. Gyro City Grill has basic things like falafel and hummus. It comes out fast, but it's slightly better than fast food is. Has a drive thru for those in an even bigger hurry. This may not be good, but it's cheap and quick. Crappy looking exterior makes it easy to be tuned off by this business. It looks like another one of those former Taco Bell's that have been turned into Greek restaurants. To their credit, it had something of a remodeling though. Came here to get lunch to go. Went through the drive thru. It wasn't terribly that fast. They messed up the idea of fast food on this time. I had a falafel pita. It's $5.50 and comes with lettuce and tomatoes. The falafel was barely warm. It definitely was cooked though because it was hard. This had to have been precooked. I also had the hummus. It's $6 and comes with a couple of pitas. This was okay, but it was kind of bland and tasted not that fresh, like it was from a tub. It was nice the pitas had no charge. That would have been a dick move if they pulled it off. I probably won't bother with here again. It's cheap but the taste somehow still isn't level to the price. Stopped here for lunch on the way to Obetz Fields and it was pretty good. I had the classic gyro and it was very good. My wife had the hummus and she said it was great, homemade, fresh, and good pitas. We also had fired and all Greek places must get their fries from the same place because they are always the same and always great. Only downside was there is some really foul odor back in the hall to bathrooms that was a major turnoff. Food was good and fast. read more

So I just found this Greek restaurant near where I live. The service was great. I had the gyro platter with a Greek salad and spanikopita (spinach pie) overall the food was really good and satisfied my craving for Greek food. It was better than some food I've had in the past at Greek festivals in Florida. However, this is a quasi fast food place and doesnt really compare to my favorite place in Florida which is Mezes Taverna. The meat was flavorful and a big portion. I had to order a second pita so I could make two gyros from my order. The tsatziki was a little odd. I think it was mayonnaise based rather than yogurt based, so minus a star for that and having to order a second pita. I'll be back and will try the hummus and a dessert probably bakhlava read more

Have ordered food from this place several times and not once have we been disappointed. Great gyros, amazing hummus, tasty entrees, yummy desserts and sides and I LOVE their rice. The food is always hot and fresh. In fact, today, I had to pull into the parking lot and wait for my food because I ordered the shrimp salad (pictured) and they told me it would take a few extra minutes because the shrimp was cooked to order. I had no problem with that. The salad is absolutely delicious with 5 beautiful jumbo shrimp and super fresh everything else. My first time trying it, but not my last time ordering it, that's for sure! Definitely one of our favorite places to grab some dinner for us on my way home from work. There are two items I wish this place had on their menu that would make things absolutely perfect - Moussaka and Baba Ghanoush. I would *SO* be all over that on a regular basis. read more

To begin with my review, i would highly recommend Yelp to have 0.5 sort of. Rating like 3.5 or 4.5. Sometimes places are not really 4 or 5 full stars they are in between and each point matters. Anyhow moving on to my experience here, it was quiet average i have eaten better of this cuisine in columbus versus here. The gyro platter sandwich was same as Gyro On Rice, i was expecting some sort of a difference there. Although that one thing sort of ticket me off is gyro being served on plain white rice but it definitely had some flavor to it. Usually the rice is not just plain it is prepared Mediterranean style with vermicelli in it. Had i not seen 4 star rating to it i would have not entered this place considering i was not very picky today and wanted to just go in a restaurant which is good rated (at the least 4 star ). Below how i felt about everything here. Gyro Platter Sandwich 3/5 (Comes with lettuce, onion , white sauce, Pita Bread and tomatoes) Gyro on rice 3/5 (comes with white rice and a half pita bread) Falafel (On a bed of lettuce and Banana Peppers) Pecan Baklava 2.5/5 One more thing i wanted to add here is their white sauce is delicious so maybe there is where an extra half star can be given. I just moved to the neighborhood and I could not be more jazzed about having a killer Greek spot around the corner. The regular gyro and chicken gyro were both A+. The salads are huge and the house dressing is so so good I dipped the fries in that stuff. And they have gorgeous looking baklava. The service is good. You can tell it's a family business. Today i went there, ordered three jumbo Gyros with everything, three spinach feta pies, and three large fries. 40 bucks, and the jumbo gyros are so big you can't eat them normally, you have to eat them like an open faced sandwich. If you order another pita, toasted, you can turn it into two regular gyros. The spinach feta pie with the buttered phyllo is always tasty. It's a way I can get my son to eat spinach, too, so yay. I ordered the Philly Steak and the menu in the drive thru stated it came with peppers and onions, I get home and it was covered in mushrooms. I absolutely will not eat anything with mushrooms! I call the restaurant and one of the owners, in a thick Greek accent argued with me that I should have just known that EVERY Philly steak EVERYWHERE comes with mushrooms!
