The wait staff was nice here. The food came a bit quickly as to seem not as freshly made, and the taste reflected this. The soup was average, and just like most places. I was hoping for the famous soup I was used to, as previous new owners knew what they had. This place took over the location of Taste Of Greece. The chicken lemon soup at Taste of Greece using rice and dill recipe was different and so good it was written up in Cuisine Magazine. 40 years of history with the best Lemon Chicken soup in the entire region, and you decide to toss the recipe despite its knows success? What's the point of completely eliminating that and just providing the usual, typical soup with orzo that everyone else serves? The Hummus was also written up in Cuisine Magazine. Another 40 year perfection tossed in search of the average in hopes of more profit. After all these years, I will try to find another Greek restaurant locally, but I realize it will be tough getting away from standardization. read more

I got a small greek salad (which was huge) and an order of hummus. the hummus was absolutely amazing and I loved that there was feta sprinkled on top and it was also topped with an olive. a great touch. the pitas were piping hot and so soft. This place use to be my favorite place to get a gyro. Some things have changed. First they send out a text for 20% off your entire check but when I called and placed my order the woman says only if the order is over 40 bucks and blamed it on the printer. When we got home to eat our gyros they were just awful! They meat was dry and the recipe must have changed. The pita was hard and the lettuce was soggy. The fries must have been left in oil for a long time. If this was the first I wouldn't have said anything but this is a continued progression in a horrible direction. Hungry for lunch deciding what to eat I stumbled across this place. I decided to give it a try and I'm sure glad I did. I had a platter fully of different meats. It came with pork, chicken, gyro meat and fries. They were all very tasty and this establishment isn't shy about the portions they serve. Amazing new little spot in Oceanside. I've been in a few times to try one of their main dishes such as the gyro lamb sandwich, falafel and hummus. Service and quality of food if truly over the top. Their dishes and Ingridients taste fresh and have that "home style" touch that we all love. Authentic menu and warm environment. Def. recommend and will be coming back. read more

I tried this restaurant the other day and was pleasantly surprised by the freshness and authenticity of the food. For a true taste of Greece, I recommend the tyrokafteri, it tastes like you are eating a fresh red pepper from the garden. The same holds true for the horiatiki salad that was full of luscious tomatoes that tasted hand picked from a greek garden. The same applies to the zucchini sticks and eggplant salad. Oh, and the rice pudding was equally delicious. The owner was very friendly to deal with. In all, I would order from this place again. read more

This is our second time dining here, and I must say, I am beyond impressed with the customer service! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by such wonderful, friendly people. They make you feel so welcome and treat you like family. And on the plus side, the food is DELICIOUS! Honestly, the best Greek food I've ever had. Everything is so flavorful and authentic. My 1yo son even enjoyed everything we ordered! (And babies can be picky!). After we finished our meals, they brought us over some complimentary rice pudding. TO DIE FOR!! I was chatting with the owner and telling her that my son loved her rice pudding and she went as far as giving me some to take home for him. I honestly have never had such great customer service before. This will definitely be one of our regular places from now on. read more

Sadly not like it used to be. We'd eaten here and taken out many times before. Called for takeout, told 20-25 minutes. Waited when I got there in 25 minutes, for another 25 minutes. People in and out, and still waiting for order. Even counter person seemed like they could care less if you were there or not. Seems like everyone looking to blame someone/something else, instead of saying we're sorry for your poor experience. Sometimes you cut slack when a little busy and because you still look forward to the meal. But was compelled to write this review because food wasn't good at all. The falafel was dry and there was no sauce on it so after a few bites the best decision was to toss it. The side of gyro meat wasn't that; it was diced up chicken with bits of skin stuck throughout. Even the lemon chicken soup was very disappointing, as if it was made days before and reheated. With Greek Town and BGreek kitchen nearby, this one has come off our list. read more

This is your 5th time either eating in or taking out from GRYRO BAR -so I very disappointed - When I opened the container my Chicken Gyro platter looked like french fries and lemon potatoes -- but what it actually was tiny pieces of chicken the size of french fries and anything that was larger than a french fry was the size of a dried up quarter -- NOT going back any time soon read more

I must echo the other reviews. The authentic pork gyro is amazing. The fries that come in the sandwich along with the meat , lettuce , tomato onion and tzaziki sauce are prepared perfectly. The other food items look delicious and freshly prepared. If I could add another star I would.
