Well, we have ordered from here on and off now for some time. Last night we received our delivery. The price increased from $15.25 to $19.99 per platter. Now, I understand we may have had an old menu, but when we opened the dishes there were only three small pieces of gyro over an entire container of rice. This was both containers. $20 each for rice and lemon potatoes. I've had sandwiches with more gyro than these "platters". We feel nothing but ripped off. It's ashamed because we used to like this place but find another place where the portion fills more than a cavity. Done. read more

I had to cancel my order after not receiving two hours after I placed it. I called to check on it and was told it was on its way twice which was a lie. This has been the closest thing I have found to my faves on Northern Blvd. What sets Gyro Bar on such a high for me besides the great food, service and kind souls working there, is their spicy tzatziki! Incredible explosion of flavor! My choice of meal for this review is the Avgolemono soup, 2 meat pita of Beef and Lamb Gyro and Pork Souvlaki with feta, onions, lettuce. This spot is AMAZING. A tiny spot with delicious food! We started with the Gyro Bar Dip Trio. The hummus was so fresh and tyrokafteri dip was INCREDIBLE- perfect roasted red pepper blend mixed with feta. For dinner, the Chicken Souvlaki and build your own bowl was delicious. Ordered for delivery this evening. My girlfriend got a chicken skewer with rice and lemon potatoes. The skewer was super small. Looked like an undersized portion for a small child. The lemon potato's had a lot of lemon, so much so they were sour. My chicken sandwich was just okay. A little dry but decent. read more

Excellent food that is flavorful and authentic. We ordered delivery which was prompt and well packaged, each dish was hot and cold as appropiate. The spicy feta and grape leaf apps were perfect. The meat platter for two was just one of the best choices, and it surely feeds more than two people. Generous portions just added to the overall excellence of the meal. The chicken gyro platter was great. We got grilled veggies and rice as sides which are good choices. We look forward to ordering again and to going to the restaurant too. Authentic Greek Cuisine with a friendly and welcoming Owner and staff. Real homemade style cooking at reasonable prices. The restaurant is always immaculate too. Try the Chicken Souvalaki with lemon potatoes with Baklava and coffee. The other local greek restaurant (small "g" on this one) is Pete's Pitaria where the greek salad is mostly wet lettuce and little else. This place isn't even in a slow 4th place compared to Gyro Bar. OMG i got take out from them and it was amazing. I wanted something simple regular chicken wings and lemon potatoes . My girl asked me what topping I wanted on the wings and gave me choice and I chose the "Sweet Chili " I was amazed of how tender they tasted and good ! It was just enough sauce and a little crispy just how I like my wings . I cannot wait to try their other stuff on the menu . Probably some of the best wings I ever had . Save your money. The food was not good. I ordered the lamb/beef gyro with a side order of fries. The meat was lukewarm, the pita bread was stale, the white sauce was so thick & not creamy at all. Makes me wonder if it was also bad. The fries were hard and lukewarm. They probably refried it twice. How do you serve people something like this? read more

This place is the best Gyro Bar in Long Island!!! The food is delicious, fresh, authentic and great price for the quality of food you get. The Gyros are the BEST!!! the hummus is addictive you can't get your hands off from it . The potato's with the lemon are done to perfection. And the service was phenomenal, they're sooo nice to you and attentive with everything we had a great experience, we definitely coming back. It's really clean and comfortable. NOTE: if you're pregnant please be ready cuz you may want eat everything and that's what I did. They were so nice they gave me some cookies on the way out. Me and my Husband wanted gyros. Looked at reviews and decided to try. Absolutely delicious!! Ordered 2 gyros and 2 side salads. The gyro was delicious. I usually don't finish a whole gyro but it was so good I ate every last piece. And the side salad was the best!!! Amazing combination. Went here thinking this was the old Taste of Greek. I come in town and head straight there as a must stop. I use to like the fact that items were homemade and prepared while we waited for take out. Something about having a pre prepared boxed salad rubbed we the wrong way. Nothing is wrong with it but if you are use to the way Taste use to prepare your salad. You feel a little funny when you open a to go bag at home and your like hmm My bad for thinking it was the same ownership. There bag for taking the home feel out of the meal . It was basic and nothing special to make you want to keep coming back. Greek dressing comes on the side . A no no for me . Panera Bread makes a better Greek salad and I thought the were marginal.
