There were people at the checkout, but upstairs there were really only two people, and that's not enough for a large footprint and inventory questions and things like that. Very Disappointing Customer Service Experience…read more I had a very unpleasant experience with a member of the leadership team named Billy during a recent visit to the Dick's Sporting Goods at Del Amo. I attempted to return a pair of youth cleats that were still in new condition. They showed no signs of wear on the soles--only a small amount of dust from my child trying them on briefly on a dirt field. The cleats were black, making the dust more noticeable. I purchased them just 27 days earlier and had my original receipt. According to the return policy printed on the receipt, returns are accepted for items in new condition. Billy immediately refused both a refund and even a store credit. Because he was the acting leader, I requested to speak with the store manager. Billy seemed reluctant to involve the manager, but I insisted. Store Manager Val inspected the cleats himself. He explained that worn shoes are generally not eligible for return, but after examining the cleats and confirming they were still in new condition and within the 30-day return window, he approved a store credit. What disappointed me most wasn't the policy--it was Billy's customer service. Throughout the interaction, he had a dismissive attitude, made very little eye contact, appeared irritated whenever I asked a question, and showed no interest in resolving the situation professionally. Those are qualities I would not expect from someone in a leadership position. I appreciate Manager Val for taking the time to inspect the item and applying the return policy fairly. Unfortunately, Billy's approach made what should have been a simple return into an unnecessarily frustrating experience.

Once inside, what you'll find is the sporting goods and the activity goods that you would expect to find at Dick's. They have a little bit of everything. For the very astute professional, in the various sporting fields, they may not have the exacting item that you are looking for. But, for the novice in any field, they pretty much have something at least to get you started. Of course, they have tons of activewear, shoes, sunglasses, all of the various needs for all of the various sports that you can think of. It's just as simple as that. The staff here are all super nice and helpful. They're happy to guide you and help you with any need you may have. I asked if they carried the 1080s in a size 7.5 in black. She asked if I wanted the regular width or wide version. I didn't know there were options, but having wider feet, I asked for the wide one. She left and returned with two pair of shoes in different widths. One regular and one extra wide. The extra wide one fit like a glove. She gave me time to try them on and walk around. She then came back to check up on me. The selection here is very good. I had scouted the 1080s in a specific color and size online and this store had them. In terms of value, I would also say I got a good deal on these shoes. Six months ago, on the website, these shoes were selling for $165. I got mine here for $100. Some final thoughts: The man at checkout was very nice. He did want us to provide an email for the receipt. Apparently if you lose your physical receipt, you can still return your shoes with the emailed receipt. I had no intention of returning the shoes so passed on providing the email, but this may be something for you to consider if you're not entirely sure those shoes you're buying are keepers. Also, please be aware that the shoes are organized on the walls by shoe models, not male or female.
