I had a good experience with Guy's Gutters. The installers were very efficient as they took only half a day to install 160 feet of gutters on our home and cleaned up fully. The initial inspector recommended some things I hadn't considered (like two extra downspouts) but recommended against other things (like gutter guards), so I felt like he was giving a fair assessment of my property's needs. Guy's Gutters installed our gutters and gutter guards and did a nice job but after a tree fell on our house and damaged one of the gutters. I called several times for them to come to replace the gutter without a response. Then again I called and sent pictures of one of the gutters that came loose from the house. Highly recommend Guy's Gutters. Shane was friendly and professional when giving me an estimate for gutters. He offered some great suggestions as to downspout positioning I had not thought of. We had to go with copper gutters as this little bungalow is less than 100 yards from the ocean. Nothing else stands up to the salt air. The installation crew arrived on time and quickly set up and got to work. They made the copper gutters on site, installed the gutters and downspouts, completing the job in 2 1/2 hours. I creased a gutter with a rental truck and I had to get it replaced. I called a couple of companies, but they declined because the job was too small. When I called Guy's Gutters, Shane came out the next day and gave me a very reasonable estimate. I was amazed when he set the appointment up for a couple of days later on a weekend. He was on time and fixed the gutter in under an hour. He then went around my entire house and inspected and repaired the rest of the gutters (missing/broken screws, caulking, etc.). This review is for their scheduling and communication skills. They were recommended to me by a contractor friend, so I'm guessing that the quality of their work is good, but they treat (non-contractor) clients like #$%@. I had a section of gutter that needed work last year. I called Guys Gutters last September and gave them all the info. They said that they would stop by my house and look at the problem, then give me a call. I never heard back from them. I figured that they must be busy, but after 3 months of hearing nothing I called them again. The woman who answered the phone looked up my address and information and said yes, they had me in their system. When I asked when I could expect to hear back from them, she rudely said "I have no idea. We are very busy". It has been a year now from first contact, and I never did hear back from them. I can't imagine how they stay in business with this kind of customer service. Perhaps they only respond to calls involving whole-house replacement or other such big ticket items. read more

One of my roof gutters got damaged by a downed tree during our recent winter storms. I contacted several companies to come out and give me an estimate for the work . I had a response from only two and Guys Gutters was the only company who actually kept in touch, delivered a written estimate and completed the job. I had my gutters and downspouts installed by Guy's Gutters. Everything was fine until I called them to ask them to come check out a popping sound that occurrs every afternoon as the sun heats the downspout. I have called so many times and while at one point the owner said I was "on their clipboard", they never came out and never called back to set up a time. On the phone they told me they had never heard of this as if I was making up this problem. I would have appreciated a visit to assess the situation and then determine how to correct it. I get the feeling that they have so much business that they don't need to follow up on issues. This is very disappointing especially after I spent a great deal of money with them. read more

I called Guy's Gutters about two small repairs we needed. His reply was, "We don't do that. That would be a waste of money. We only do replacements." If he had just said we only do replacements, fine. But calling a small repair a "waste of money" compared to replacing what are otherwise perfectly good gutters is ridiculous. read more

Three stars because the job turned out fine in the end. We received two referrals Guy's Gutters from painters we met with to get estimates to paint our house. The painter we eventually chose had samples of the gutter materials that Guy's Gutters uses (extruded type), so we were able to match trim color to the gutters we wanted installed. To their credit the crew from Guy's Gutters came and removed the old gutters before the painters came, which worked out well. My complaint is about communication. It was very hard to get anyone to tell us exactly when they would show up (either to remove old gutters or install the new ones). When I called the main office, I dealt with the same person each time and frankly that person was at best brusque--and at worst rude. As I commented to the owner, the person I spoke to seemed more committed to protecting the interests of the business owner than in customer service. Her attitude came off as almost hostile and crazy in one conversation. But if you can tolerate dealing with some "personalities," go for it. Our gutters came out looking good. Installation was very fast, once they finally were able to do it. read more

Guys installed gutters for our new roof 2 years ago and they looked and worked great. After heavy rains the gutters were not draining, filled with water and pulled away from our roof. At least not for a small job. I needed only two gutters replaced. Waited months for an appt., they kept refusing to make one when I was available, said they would call me when had a 2 hour window between jobs, no call for months, I call several times, finally call me one hour before to come. I'm away at doctors so I leave the gate open and OK them to come. Gate is closed when they come so they call me. I say plz wait 1/2 hour or come back and I can be there. No they cant do that and then they say I'm too difficult and find someone else. Yes I will. I hear there work is good, but their customer service and communication with me was very poor read more

Guy's Gutters just replaced the gutters on our house. We chose to use a material called Galvalume, not very common and wanted to use extra long lengths to avoid having joints. Brian sourced the material from a manufacturer in Oregon and had it shipped here to Santa Cruz. The two installers, Julio and Raul did a very neat and tidy job and were a pleasure to have on the job. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again. The price was very reasonable too. I am a retired general contractor and have worked with many sub-contractors over the years. Called about a large gutter job on my house. I spoke with someone and gave them my phone number and email address. I was told they would contact me about setting up an appointment. Three weeks later I am still waiting. Even if you don't have time to do the job, how long does it take to send a simple text or email? Guess they don't give a sh&^. Probably too much work with the housing boom so why worry about customer service. I am going with another company. Contacting them apparently is hit or miss, so risk it if you want or go with someone else who puts an effort into customer service. read more

I was so pleased with Guy's Gutters.... from the initial quote from David Guy, to the communication with Bryan and finally the crew that came out with Lonnie.... very pleased with the price, promptness and communication. The caulking, supports, downspouts were all installed well and the guys even had to come out an extra time to install some blocking that I painted to secure two downspouts. Another thing that was important to me were the brackets. Our old brackets were put up all crooked and sloppy... but Lonnie put them on perfectly straight. Guy's Gutters did repairs on 2 of our rental houses and completely replaced gutters on 2 others. The bid was very reasonable. (I got 3 bids to compare.) The crew was efficient and knew their trade well. When one of the replacements ran into an unexpected hidden problem with removal of the old gutters, which took more labor, the foreman explained the trouble and I agreed to an additional charge, which also was less than I had expected. The gutters look great. I chose the seamless aluminum material with 2 ladder guards. The repairs are excellent. No leaky joints. They cleaned up the debris. I'm very satisfied. read more
