Mike came out to checkout and give a bid to remove a couple leaky skylights and replace shingles, plywood, and tung and groove ceiling boards. His bid was reasonable and his crew did an excellent job getting it done in a timely manner. Since he completed the job my roof has not leaked at all. Looking forward to hiring him in the future to replace the entire roof! read more

Fassio Roofing - Old skylights that were causing roof to leak - Roofing Near Me - Santa Cruz, California

We hired Fassio Roofing to do a complete re-roof in Soquel, and Mike and his crew were fantastic. The roof hadn't been replaced in 45 years and there was a lot of repair to do. I also requested some upgrades (fascia boards, skylight replacement, etc.). My impression was that this was a big roofing job for a typical SFH in the area. Mike and team were very patient with all of my questions, and I really appreciated how well they kept me informed every step of the way by asking for my input and feedback on each of the decisions and keeping track of all of my requests. Shout out to Gus (foreman). Great job, and I'm really happy with the end result. read more

Mike knows what he is doing, and he's very knowledgeable. He was very punctual and took care of an issue with my roof very quickly. Highly recommend Fassio Roofing. read more

Michael came through in a pinch, and didn't over charge me. He's very good at what he does. Thanks Michael! No complaints here..

Worked with Mike on an assessment. He took the time to explain various choices for roofing material. Great crew working on a large roof and also working against an upcoming atmospheric river. Amazed at how fast the crew worked and always took care with the job. They came on time in the morning, worked through the day. Work was interrupted for a couple days because of rain, but they secured everything from the wet. Finished up as soon as the clouds lifted. Cleaned up every day before leaving. Did a great job. Very pleased with the new roof. I highly recommend Fassio Roofing. Lots of hands at work so good value for the money. read more

Mike's guys just completed installing a roof exhaust fan in my attached, uninsulated garage. Very professional and fast. The fan is thermostatically controlled and not only does it cool the garage beautifully, but if I leave the door from the house to the garage open, it does a great job of cooling the whole house! I am delighted (and I usually don't give 5 star ratings unless the work is truly excellent.). Mike also did a great job on a new roof 4 years ago -- no leaks and it still looks great! read more

Mike came recommended by our renovation contractor after a leak developed under our solar panels. I called and was pleasantly surprised by how quickly he responded. We were able to setup an appointment later that day. Mike was right on time and climbed up on the roof and figured out it was probably an issue with our 10-year-old Solar installation. He personally does not remove the panels, but described what probably happened when Solar City was on the roof and aiming for a rafter and missed and didn't seal the hole correctly. He recommended I get in contact with Tesla Energy and see if they would fix under warranty and if not or if they charged a ridiculous fee to call him back and he would work with a local solar installer to coordinate a fix. After a lot of back and forth with Tesla, I finally got them to come out and sure enough, it was a problem with their install and they did not properly seal the holes. All got fixed under workmanship warranty and the leaks are now fixed. I can't thank Mike enough and we will be calling Fassio to do our roof replacement when the time finally comes. I can't thank enough. read more

Mike and his crew are top notch and very deserving of their well-earned reputation. I had a storm related leak develop at 10pm on a Saturday night (water pouring through a range vent and pooling into my stove!) and Mike returned my call within minutes and said he and his guy were on their way. They fixed the leak to perfection in the driving rain in the dark, cold of winter as more rain was in the forecast. That's customer service. I can't thank them enough! read more

Mike Fassio is the best. He went above and beyond to deal with some roofing issues at our place. He came back occasionally to check to make sure that there were no continuing leaks. He is attentive and responsive. I highly recommend Fassio Roofing. read more

They did a great job at a good price. I am very happy with how our TPO roof turned out and am hopeful that it will give me decades of service. read more

Our patio renovation revealed several feet of roof/eave damage. It wasn't a huge job, but we definitely needed it repaired before we could go on with our patio repairs. Company after company told us they had no availability to give us a quote until August. Fassio gave us a quick evaluation and put us on the schedule right away. Alex and his guys came and did a fast, gorgeous job... and cleaned up after themselves beautifully. Plus the did this in ONE DAY, too. Five stars, and well deserved. We'll keep them in mind for further repairs or when our excellent roof finally gives out. read more

I contacted Fassio Rook for a bid on a roof repair. He came out and said he'd send me a bid, but I never got one. I contacted him again and he said he'd get me a bid. I got ghosted. So I can't comment on the quality of his work or his prices, but customer service isn't so hot. If he didn't want to do the job I'd much rather have him tell me that up front. read more

A curious feeling of being happy spending money on a roof ! We needed a new roof and had the added complexity of solar panels across two of the south facing portions of the roof. Saber was one of only a few companies that handle both roof and solar installation and repair so we got bids from all the firms within a sensible radius of our house. My wife's first impressions were accurate to the job - good integrity - honest approach &competitive pricing to boot. Interesting points of note:- - Jay was very attentive on email with me. - He treated my wife with equal respect (not a strong value for contractors in general, 'implicit bias' IMO). - His crew have been with him for a good number of years. - He came up multiple times to check the work. - He apparently pays the team a bonus on fridays if after he inspects the work it is perfectly done. - They were always on time - They were polite - They cleaned up ever evening - They finished when they said Netting this out, this was the cleanest contractor execution we have had at the house on what was in our opinion slated to be a right mess. Jay was a pleasure to deal with, his crew worked hard and long hours and were not a burden in any way. Granted, we have not seen rain yet but the panels are back on and working, the roof looks great, they certainly went above and beyond so I have no problem in heartily recommending their services. Thanks Jay... read more

Many thanks to Mike for climbing up on my roof and putting sealant around my skylight. You were able to go where no man has gone before! And for that I thank you! Fast and dependable service, reasonable prices and easy to do business with: Mike has me as a life long customer now! read more

Got five bids from different companies. My roof situation was complicated by having to remove the solar panels. One of the other companies which had the highest bid could do the panel removal but Mike's bid was the most reasonable and his customer service was the best. He spends lot of time explaining options before we made our decision. We ended up adding additional insulation which added quite a bit more cost but Mike gave me some previous customers to check in with before I made my final choices. We are still in the final part of the installation process but his crew has been fantastic and his service has been exemplary. I would not hesitate to recommend him! read more

These guys did my full roof repair and then also did my skylight repair - both times service was awesome - always super quick to respond. Mike even chatted with me on the phone about pros and cons of different pricing/repair options/etc. Really took the time to make sure I understood & walked me through what I was paying for. Appreciate it guys!!! Will use them for all roofing needs. Thank you!!! read more

We had a sudden roof leak and Mike and his crew came and had it fixed within only a few hours. Highly recommended.

Fassio Roofing was amazing! They replaced my roof and gutters. My gutters weren't stock, so it was more complex. I can't say enough good things about these folks. They were great in so many ways. The work was done perfectly, and the process was extremely comfortable. The owner, Mike Fassio was easy to communicate with, easy to reach, always did what he said he would, found solutions for anything that came up, was flexible, considerate, reliable. AND his team was just the same. His foreman was knowledgeable, easy to mention things to, able to explain why this or that, happily attended to anything that came up. All the team was friendly, eager to make things easy for me; they left each day with the place immaculate. I was nervous about the disruption, and I am pretty exacting. These folks just hit it out of the park - all the big and little things were done with attention, expertise, and patience. read more

J Saber did not work on my roof....but I'll give him points simply for replying to me, visiting my roof and determining he would rather not do the work due to scheduling issues. Given the absolutely pathetic responses, or lack, from most all other local roofers I contacted, I feel safe in recommending J Saber simply because he was straight with me. I met him, I liked him. I would caution anyone seeking roof work in this geographic area to exercise extreme caution given the flim-flam nature of the others purporting to work on roofs. patrick read more

I had two houses with different roofing issues. House 1) had a leak where a cricket drained. House 2) had a leak over the garage where two edges of the roof met. Also the roof had no venting, including the garage. So drilled vent holes in the eaves around the garage, put two eyebrow vents in the roof of the garage. Also two eyebrow vents on either side of the house and 2 solar vents in the center of the house. Jay was awesome crew came early and finished the job in 2 days instead of three. Found matching tiles to replace all the broken tiles that would have caused more leaks in the future. Best of all the whole job came in under the estimate. I had 3 different roofers came out. All had different ideas on how to address all my issues. Jay was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either and was the only one who addressed all the problems I had. Can't recommend him highly enough. read more

Mike had done excellent work for us a couple of years ago to repair roof leaks around a skylight. He gave us a timeframe for replacing the roof. When we had our house painted and gutters replaced, we decided to go ahead and get the roof replaced at the same time. Mike's crew came out as soon as the painting was completed and in 3 days the job was done. They tarped the inside of the house to make sure dust and dirt did not cover our furniture. They checked in daily to make sure the tarping worked. They worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned up around the area when they finished the job. When we ran into a problem with the gutter company we had originally hired, Mike stepped in and got another company to come in quickly and at a better price than we originally were to pay. The bottom line is their price was fair and reasonable and their work was excellent and efficient. read more

Mike and his crew did a great re-roofing job for me! Communication was a bit inconsistent before the job began, but once it started the whole process exceeded my expectations. This is a much delayed thank you to Mike Fassio for repairing a leak we had in our garage. Mike and his team were punctual, professional, fairly priced and got the leak fixed right the first time. Mike was easy to communicate with. We called Mike another time when we had a leak inside home and he found roof in good order and diagnosed issue as a likely stucco crack and recommended an easy solution that we could do ourselves. When we need a new roof, Mike will be the first person i call for a bid as I trust him, his pricing is competitive and I can count on him to get the job done right. read more

I reached out to this company after reading Yelp reviews. The first thing I do on Yelp is to make sure a company services the area where I live, before spending time reading reviews. According to the service area map on this listing, they service my area. However, their reply to me was that they don't service Los Gatos. It'd be great if companies keep this type of information current on their Yelp listing so they don't waste people's time. At least they replied at all, I suppose, and recommended another company. read more

I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains in a wildland fire zone and saw the 2008 fire near my house burn for several days. This fire created its own micro climate in the valleys and ridges where it destroyed sevral houses. To avoid this happening to me I researched the internet for fire safe construction and found the 1995 Fine Home Building Article entitled "Fire-Resistant Details". This article gave me a working understanding of the problems to be solved when remodeling your home to be fire safe. With the principals, goals, and objectives identified, I interviewed materials suppliers, local building officials, and engineers to quality assure in my design theory, and seek their views on selecting local contractors to perform the work. I learned that not only does a roof need to be Class A fire resistant in terms of being constructed out of non-combustible materials, but should also function as a thermal barrier to minimize the interior of the house heating up and catching fire from the inside. This is also the case for the walls and windows as pracicable. Furthermore, I discovered my cathedral celing/roof was unvented, and perhaps the cause of some moistrue problems and excessing heat build-up issues. With all this information in mind, I prepared a preliminary plan to solicit contractor bids from. Based on my enginnering background I decided to hire the most quilified contractors for my new stucco siding and metal roof. For the roofing contractor I prioritized the following qualities: 1. Technical knowledge of roof design in fire zones and hot climate zones (since I am concerned about future Califorinia droughts & Hot spells). 2. Working relationships with material suppliers and their technical support staff. 3. Years of relevant experience and references 4. Ability to work with me to develope the final roof design and contract 5. Cost effectiveness and cost competeive All of this considered I selected J. Saber Roofing; and proceeded with a very clear contract that provided for timely completion and the potential for problems typically discovered during construction. The roofing project took ten days to complete as expected, and included some repair work discovered when the old roof was removed. I also elected to repalce the gutter and downspoute so as to match the quality of the new roof. All extra work was fairly priced with advance notice to think about it. I am more than satisfied; my house with its new dark green metal roof looks great and blends in the the native Redwood trees in my area. The house also feels cooler during these recent hotter summer days due to the improved venting incorporated into the roof design recommended by J. Saber Roofing. I am also more confident that my house will survive future wildland fires and be more comfortable during hot spells without air conditioning. In closing I highly recommend J.Saber Roofing read more

Very good experience with Fassio. I had an issue with my roof that I was concerned about. It looked like a shingle was torn out and the underlying wood was rotting. Michael came over the hill to my house for a free estimate. He checked it out and determined that there was nothing to be concerned about. He answered all my questions and explained what was going on with my roof and also offered some advice on painting over the area, which was purely for cosmetic purposes. I also asked him for an estimate on a whole roof replacement when the time comes, which he was happy to do for me. I really appreciated his honesty and willingness to come out and take a look at something as small as this (although a big problem in my eyes). Honest and helpful. Will be using these guys when my roof needs to be replaced in the future. read more

Mike, Carlos, and Alex were awesome. They fixed a portion of our ridge vent (running along the vertex of our roof) that was leaking pretty badly. No more leaks. No more sweat. Mike was extremely reasonable and Carlos even took the time to explain the nature of the leak and junky legacy materials which were replaced by Fassio Roofing. We will definitely be using Fassio Roofing to replace our entire roof when that time comes. Great local business. Knowledge and expertise you can trust. read more

Got bids from numerous SC companies and the best bid, by a fair amount, was from Mike. We were able to get on the calendar quickly and they stuck to their schedule, which is more than you can ask from a lot of contractors. When the date came they arrived on time and worked diligently through the week. Every day they cleaned up the place really well, and didn't leave any nails around from the demo. There was a lot of termite damage that needed to be repaired and they did pretty good carpentry to get it back in shape. Roof color and new gutters made a huge difference on the appearance of our home, and the ridge vent helped cool our attic and upper story. All in all a great experience. read more

I waited to review Fassio until we had a good rain here in Ben Lomond. We had a good rain-of Biblical proportions. Lots of wind and rain. We got a bid which was exactly what we ended up paying, nothing was added on. Fassio roofing came in, tore off the old roof, made minor repairs over a really wet area we had. They cleaned up after themselves, were respectful of our house and land. Were good with our dog who wanted to play (you are asked to keep your pets in). But really nice people, professional, great quality, we are very happy with our new roof. We could have waited another year or two, but we wanted it done before problems started. We decided we wanted new gutters. Mike got the subcontractor there and it was done immediately. We are so satisfied with this contractor. We highly recommend Fassio Roofing. Thank you Mike and crew for a great experience getting this done. We were safe and dry through all the weather we had. read more

I am so glad I found this roofing business on Yelp. Jay was such a treat to work with and this was the fastest and most efficient experience I have ever had with a contractor. I called them at 4:30pm and Jay called me right back. We scheduled them to come out the next morning at 8:30 am and they were abe to immediately tell where the leak was coming from. They determined we had roof vents that were leaking and they came out on a Saturday morning to replace them along with the surrounding roof area. No more leaks and the price was very reasonable. I will be using him in the future for all my roofing needs. read more

Jay and his team are the best! I called him after being referred to him by a good friend who had had some work done on her roof and was happy with the results. During the last rainy period, I discovered a roof leak that was coming through our 2nd story ceiling and leaving a giant water stain in its wake. Not cute! I called Jay feeling desperate - it was still continuing to rain off and on and within days - despite their busy schedule - his crew was out repairing our roof and fixing the problem. They also replaced several shingles that had come loose over time. Responsive, friendly, professional - Truly a 5-star experience. Like Guy C. posted in hi review - I almost did feel (kind of :) happy spending money on my roof! I highly recommend J Saber Roofing. read more

Great work. We had a roof installed on a house that gets a lot of weather (high on a mountain and facing bay). J and his crew did a great job - addressed specific issues unique to our property (100+ mph - gusts on occasion off the bay). Very organized and clean - would recommend J to anyone looking to have a roof installed. Job went well without issues - stayed on budget - a few routine wood repairs (which were additional cost) that J explained in detail prior to correcting / going forward. All in all - A+. read more

I met Mike in 2015 when I hired him to reroof my house. I was extremely impressed with Carlos and his crew; their work ethic, knowledge, and yes, cleanliness! I smiled through two winters (no leaks) and decided to call him back to reroof a small in-law cottage. Again, clean, efficient, and another beautiful job! Yesterday, Mike and Carlos came up at the request of my skylight person (he was there because of a "felt like a hole" leak ). Long story short, today, Carlos was at my home bright and early, and most probably, repaired a pretty major problem created by someone else! I was taken care of and I wasn"t charged!!! Now thats as good as it gets. read more
